  1. I am sorry that you are in pain. I hope it passes quickly. I see that you mention that your lactose reaction feels distinctly different than what you are feeling now. I looked up Jim's Pantry online. Open Original Shared Link I used to live near there and go to those outlet stores. What a coincidence. Are you someone who has problems with cross contamination...
  2. Did you try adding a sweetener and/or vanilla?
  3. Sounds confusing. This can be so hard to figure out. Be sure to consider how much of it the various family members are eating. I hope you get it sorted out soon.
  4. As you can see from my picture, my gender is female, not male. Someone has a strange sense of humor and the ability to change peoples profiles.

Your gender setting automatically sets as male unless otherwise selected. No tampering here...

I thought it automatically sets to "not telling". That's what it used to say. That's what other peoples say. That's what I was unable to change it back to.

  5. My son gets that. I'd have to agree that's the worst. With not making it to the toilet, at least you could wear diapers and do what you have to do. It's hard to attach a sac to your face.
  6. I noticed that place sells oat and wheat products. Do you know if they use separate facilities or production lines for their gluten free products? I couldn't find it on their website. I'll also look into the other place, thank-you.
  7. The depression is terrible, but so is not making it to the toilet in time. I don't know which is worst.
  8. It sounds like it could be gluten to me. My episodes are of different duration, and I think it depends on how much gluten I ingest. Of course, you can never be sure.
  9. I have a piece of fruit, roasted squash seeds, almonds, a fruit smoothie or homemade veggie chips. The chips are potato and green vegetable made in the dehydrator.
  10. I had been talking about my son and I earlier. By "WE" I meant, my son and myself. I was relating our experiences. We were told that something is safe because the person who could eat it was very sensitive. We reacted. I was trying to explain the various levels of sensitivity and how that applies to listening to people about food safety.
  11. It looks like I can't do that. I just tried. I can't PM you either GlutenFreeManna. Thanks for your understanding. And about some of those questions you asked, I am not allowed to talk about some of those things on this forum.
  12. I just meant that having to prepare all your own foods is a bother only if you have to prepare all your own foods. Among super sensitives there is a range of sensitivities just as much as there is anywhere else in the celiac community. I am the first to admit or more accurately tell others about this. So often it is stated, I eat such and such, so it...
  13. If I could go to a restaurant when I got sick of preparing foods, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I am too sensitive to be able to do that without getting sick. I think that those of us who would complain about it are those who are too sensitive to be able to go to restaurants also. Edited to add: I am in the extremely sensitive range. Typical celiacs...
  14. You could also try just fruits, vegetables and meats for a couple of days and see if that helps. Sometimes processed foods and grains can be an issue.
  15. I have to agree with you. The time factor is tough, but eating more healthy is great. As for the kids, they don't even have fast food and sugar cravings since they never really got all that used to it. How many teenagers actually like broccoli? I could live quite easily with all that. The biggest problem is other peoples gluten and how hard it can...
  16. Where do you get your almond flour?
  17. What are you eating? Are you eating in restaurants? Are you eating a lot of processed foods? Might want to try a whole foods diet to see if that helps.
  18. At least he's not in high school yet. You have a year to get this figured out before the grades get on his transcript for college. My son missed almost a third of the year when he was first diagnosed (5th grade). It was very hard. He is super sensitive and reacts to all sorts of things which we were assured were 100% gluten free and completely safe. ...
  19. I got wheat germ oil containing lotion. I'll just give it away. It was hard enough for me to figure this stuff out. I can't expect it of casual acquaintances.
  20. I get very bad brain fog too. When I am really bad, I can't even log on here. It is worse when I am nervous. Calming techniques help. Try to do things slowly and methodically. Think carefully before you speak etc. My job is one where a little mistake can cause big problems so I'm really careful there. I go slow when I'm glutened. I hope you got the...
  21. Yes, my symptoms are worse when I am having my period. I hope you figure out what is bothering you and feel better soon.
  22. I've been mainly going without for make-up. I do use some occasionally, and I haven't noticed problems, but that is with only very limited use. For chapped lips I use Softlips organic. To test if it could bother me, I used it a whole bunch of times one day and the next, when I would usually experience symptoms, I didn't. They have a slightly tinted version...
  23. Yeah, but if you are anything like me, you have plenty more mistakes to make. LOL It is a learning process. I wish you the best.
  24. I can really understand you saying this. What makes this whole situation confusing is that different celiacs react to different levels of gluten. It is very individual. One celiac will say that they are very sensitive and they don't react to such and such, but that still won't mean that your son won't react to it. Some of us do react to things that others...
