  1. lara bars have a unique taste ---can't say they are wonderful but I do eat them. My fav is the boomi bar. Lara bars has a new line called maya bars. I had a choc mint one and it was fairly good. If anyone is new a whole foods thay have these on special quite often. mamaw
  2. I also have Raynauld's and at times get very hot feeling everywhere but hands and feet are ice cold. My hubby took to calling me his little ice cube!!!!! Now isn't that flattering and it also leaves a hugh space for off color comments.... thyroid also plays into this factor. mamaw
  3. The beef stew is okay but remember the chicken stew is not..... That seems so stupid that one is gluten-free and the other not.....
  4. I just read about this Annalise and how good her things are. I think her site gluten-free Baking Classes ... Not postive as I don't have the info near me but I think her cookbook is $ 16.95 from Surrey Books.She sends out an e-mail for free ......   11. Hi Texas Celiac yep, that's about the price here in Pa too for the gum. I guess you found out on your own how expensive this stuff is..... I don't know how rice flour can be so costly. Be sure to put your brown rice in the freezer or refridge.... I buy all my flour prepackaged..I have been using Betty Hageman four bean flour one for one in my old reg. recipes...
  12. I have a reaction to any sweetner that is artifical.... My brother- in - law was a diabetic and his doc told him it was better to use a bit of sugar than use an artifical sweetner...This comes from a highly respected doctor.. can't help with the other part of your ??? mamaw
  13. I never saw mag citrate in a capsule, I always just drank the liquid!!!!!! I've tried tons of things and very seldom does anything cause an eruption for me.........I had tests run to make sure I didn't have a blockage or a tumor and they end up with your just one of those people who are naturally consipated...   17. Hi Margie welcome to the group. And a big hooray for your son for going off wheat & gluten . At his age he seems to know alot about his body and what makes him feel better.... I think it a matter of choice on what you want to do. Some want a dx on paper and a clear ,positive no mistake about dx, others just seem to know that going gluten free and feeling...

    Hi I know it seems crazy that when you find out you have an intolerance to one thing another hundred jump on the wagon too. Diary has not been a big issue for me as I don't do milk but other things seem to keep popping up. I feel bad for the ones that cannot have diary, soy and so on it makes life more challenging.   19. I agree with Lauren that Anna's mix is the best. For her mix I use the quick wheat bread setting that uses only one rising.I think this is what anna recommends also. @ hours and 8 min. Perfect every time. Most gluten-free breads only need one rising so I hear from others..... The Zor is the best machine I love mine...... have fun with your machine ...

    welcome you will learn more from this group than any doctor can tell you.just be careful not to get glutened. when I first started I licked an envelope and had a communion wafer so I learned pretty fast after that... I think its the dumb things that gets us --- like the envelope!!!! mamaw

  24. I guess the brain fog has set up shop in my pea brain..... I can't remember who wrote the post but it was about an Aunt not understanding celiacs and making pierogi's... I know someone commented also about a recipe for pierogi's and the poster couldn't give the recipe because they buy a gluten-free flour mix and use that. I think the poster was Canadian...
