mamaw replied to Emarreff's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Greetings I'm sorry to say that yes not having enough wheat & gluten in your body WILL NOT give an accurate test result....so it would be a waste of your money or insurance to get tested... Celiac is an autoimmune disease ,, the itchy red bumps you get from household cleaners & such would be allergeries..Two different demons... -

There are many many options in Philly & NJ for gluten-free, dining out & shopping... Plus there is a large group there... ARCHIVED This Is Probably A Crazy Question
mamaw replied to pondy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
gluten is not like a germ that we can clean away with fit wash or anything else. I too clean all my purchased fruit & veggies but to remove all the chemical sprays that are there not to rid it of gluten.. I honestly don't think that would work or we all would be soaking & rinsing our products... Saoking nuts makes for easier... -

Since you say you can be without power for a month you need to stash whatever you eat for at least a month. You can cook on a grill.. Canned goods, jerky, water , medicines, batteries, a generator is nice so you can run your fridge or & freezer to save your food supply...Many foods can be eaten directly from the can ie: baked beans, dinty... -

Just wanted to wish you the best & hope you find answers very soon. Not sure if an endo doc did your testing for the thyroid but most only look at the TSH, they don't look at the Free T-3 & such...another thing may be to check-- your cortisol levels with the saliva test.. You can order that yourself online from the Canary Club... if a ... -

Dr.Fasano is researching this question. He suggests waiting until age1or so.The research isn't old enough to determine if the longer wait to introduce gluten foods will prevent celiac or if it will only prolong the occurance until the child becomes older..But it is being researched... For now I guess it is a parental choice.. But ... -

mamaw replied to terpeng's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I firmly believe what Kareng stated. He must not want to be troubled & he for sure lacks knowledge of celiac disease.... If that doesn't work I would find a new place to... -
