  1. I know gluten is what causes my diarrhea. Other foods cause headaches, gas and muscle pain. I usually don't get gas when I get diarrhea.
  2. My blood test was through my doctor who is an osteopath. The test was for intolerances, not allergies. My symptoms are insomnia, muscle pain, headaches, anxiety and diarrhea. I do think it is only gluten that caused the insomnia and diarrhea but other intolerances causing headaches and muscle pain. I'm still trying to figure out all the other intolerances...
  3. Kirkman Labs has several different gluten free multivitamins.
  4. Bean Zyme does contain cornstarch so if you react to corn, this could be a problem.
  5. It would be so nice to be able to eat out and not worry about getting glutend. But wouldn't this drug make us want to eat gluten all the time?
  6. I find this really exciting! The first presentation might be hard but you'll get more comfortable if you keep doing them. Good luck!!
  7. I do not eat at social situations. I always eat before I go and that makes it easier. I only trust my own preparing of fresh foods and cooking. Yes, it is hard. I sometimes feel like an oddball. It has gotten easier now that I am feeling better. Too much emphasis is placed on food in our society. I just joined a group of eight for game night once...
  8. I was in the same boat you were. My husband didn't believe I could be so sensitive. He finally gets it now and is being more careful. I am pretty limited with what I can eat so don't run into the problem of cc with ketchup, mustard, mayonaise, etc. I do eat butter, but he doesn't so there are no crumbs in the butter:) He has also learned to not put...
  9. If you normally get symptoms from cc and don't when you eat products that are manufactured in a factory that produces wheat, than you should be O.K. If you never had symptoms from ingesting gluten, than you could possibly be damaging your intesttines. Since you bloat up from gluten, you will know if these products are bad for you.
  10. I was using their magic soap and reread the ingredients. It contains hemp. I tested intolerant to that so will quit using it. Don't think I ever got it in my mouth and don't think I ever reacted to it.
  11. VioletBlue, Wouldn't a slow cooker purchased at a thrift store be contaminated? I have two of them that I haven't been using because of fear I'd get cross contaminated from the ceramic. Would the dishwasher be enough to get it clean? Jackay
  12. There are a lot more gluten free guys out they, they just don't know it yet. I have been married for 36 years to a gluten junky. I do think it would be easier if he knew before he married me that I had to be so careful about what I ate, washing hands and dishes, etc. My advise is find a very understanding guy who is able to support your gluten free...
  13. I'm going to work with the Vitamin B12 more by trying in in the morning for a while. If that doesn't help, I'll try taking it three times a day which is what my doctor suggested. I did start the mirtazipine again because of the depression and it seems to help. I really want to get off it so will try again in a while. I've gotten outside hour long...
  14. For peace of mind, go back on gluten and see what happens. If the pain gets worse and the insomnia comes back, you have your answer. If it doesn't get worse, you can be rechecked after a couple months of eating a lot of gluten and see what the test results show.
  15. Kirkman is also a good brand. I'm really curious about the fixed allergy to milk and eggs. My doctor told me that I can try introducing foods back into my diet after 3-6 months, depending on how severely I reacted to them. Nothing was said about not ever being able to consume any of my intolerant foods other than gluten.
  16. Have you tried any other brand of teff? It could be that you are intolerant to teff. I tested intolerant to several foods that I've never eaten. I wasn't tested for teff so when I do try it, it will be a gamble. I want to broaden my list of grains so will give it a try one of these days.
  17. I just bought some but haven't tried it yet. Now I'm scared!
  18. I am happy for you that you found a clinical nutritionist who is celiac. I'm guessing there aren't that many out there so it is not possible for everyone to see one that that is celiac. Only a gluten intolerant person can understand what we go through. The advise given from this forum is just advice. It may work for some and not for others. Some people...
  19. I need to gain wait and am pretty much doing what you suggested by eating large meals and eating all the food groups together. Right now I am eating quite a bit of high starch foods such as millet, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash, carrots and quinoa. I gain a few pounds only to lose them within a few days. I am striving so hard to not lose more weight...
  20. What did you eliminate the 'bad' bacteria? I found out I had that last summer. I tried berberine and licorice to get rid of it and reacted to them with severe bladder pain and presssure that I had to discontinue. My doctor said to kill them out with good bacteria so I upped my probiotics to four times what I normally took. I later found out I had candida...
  21. I'm thinking of doing a gluten challenge just to see what happens. I would only eat a small amount of gluten. I don't know if this is a wise thing to do or not. The only reason I would consider it is that I still am having alot of issues and I want to figure out if it is from cc or from some other food intolerance, which I have plenty of. When I went...
  22. I just checked this one out and it sounds like it may be my answer. I already supplement with Vitamin D3, so will just need to add a Vitamin A supplement and I should be set. Thanks jerseyangel and tarnalberry for your suggestions.
