  1. Just want to let you know - these posts are from 6 to 10 years old (2004-2008.)
  2. That Manwich might be too wet. You might like to make it the "real" way but add some taco spices to the meat. Add taco sauce after its cooked. Hub liked our regular one with taco sauce as left-overs. It is a pretty mild flavor as written in the recipe. Last night we had some grilled chicken tenders that I marinated in lime juice, garlic and ginger...
  3. Not sure that's a real scientific fact but I'm not arguing with your agenda. It has nothing to do with the Op's question about raw fruits and veggies being hard to digest. Let's stick to the subject.
  4. I might go check Aldi for bread. But I will ask them to get me the still frozen loaf from the back. I don't eat that much bread, so I freeze mine anyway. I think the less freeze and thaw cycles the better. But, if you will eat it quickly, then the fact that they, like other places, put the frozen bread out on non- frozen shelves to thaw, is fine.
  5. Maybe it's a reaction to something new you are eating?
  6. Raw veggies and some fruits can be hard to digest. Sometimes cooking them will help. Usually, when you heal, you can eat the raw veggies again. And to address the egg " stuff" - in commercial mayos, the egg is pasteurized or processed in some manner to assure it doesn't have the same germ issues a normal raw egg would have. Cooked eggs can be a healthy...
  7. Perhaps if you googled them, you could find out if anyone has " studied" them for accuracy?
  8. We are talking about Pilsbury items that say " glutenfree" in big letters on them. Maybe if you looked at Pillsbury website you could see which ones they make? I have seen pie crust, pizza crust and cookie dough. Not sure about the ingredients - sometimes websites will list them.
  9. I am not familiar with a finger prick test. Might not be available in the US? You might want to see if there are any reputable sites with info on it? I doubt 2 days would really effect any test, especially if you ate gluten for a few days before the test.
  10. After 6-12 months - get your blood work re-done. If the levels are in the "normal" range - you have probably eliminated the gluten well.
  11. Don't let this post scare you - This isn't the typical gluten-free diet being described .
  12. Open Original Shared Link "A gluten challenge is the period of time when gluten is added back into a person’s diet to assist in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Antibodies take time to build into the blood stream before they can be detected through blood analysis. For a gluten challenge we recommend eating 1/2 slice of bread or a cracker each day for t...
  13. You may have corn oil back. From what I have heard, the oils are a bit different than the actual grain or nut. For example, some people with a peanut allergy seem to be able to tolerate peanut oil. Not sure who would be brave enough to test it? I know a kid that had the peanut oil tested in the hospital and he was fine with it. Expands your world a bit...
  14. Just an FYI - your insurance probably won't pay for the same test twice in a couple of months. You might want to wait a while for the blood test. Open Original Shared Link
  15. Also, you may find some local places that make soooooo many fries, they fry nothing else in the fryer. Also, there are places that, if you don't mind eating at 10:30 in the morning, will make you the first burger and fries in the fresh oil. A kid might be ready for lunch at 10:30 so that might be a nice special thing for him. Does he like frozen yogurt...
  16. Five guys is good. You tell them you have celiac/ allergy and they make you a burger without a bun. They usually put it on lettuce or just wrap it up. I order mine separate from the rest of the family so mine comes in a bag separate from thier buns. Taking a burger off a bun is not safe.
  17. The problem with fries is the shared fryer. Haven't you ever gotten some fries with the pieces of onion ring in them? Or the fried mozzarella with a stray french fry? Red Robin has a fries only fryer for people with Celiac. McDonalds fries are considered gluten-free. You just need to watch that you have a careful McD's that is following company policy...
  18. Making a chicken stew in the crockpot. Had a pound ? of chicken tenders - threw in the rest of the carrots, a few red skinned potatoes, a stalk of celery, some freeze dried poultry spices and garlic & a little instant tapioca to thicken any juices. Might add peas at the end. good clean out the fridge thing.
  19. Love that search function! This is what I made Open Original Shared Link They were great. Kids thought we could do the same thing with cinnamon and sugar and they would be good. Haven't tried that yet.
  20. I tried the pizza crust. It was not sticky like most gluten-free pizza crust. It made it easy to roll it out really thin to make an appetizer with it. It was good bu I have forgotten what I made.......
  21. "If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us." Maybe you could contact them about the grammar? lol
  22. Put it in the dishwasher. I don't think people use them for bread? Mine cleans well in the dishwasher - so why not?
  23. I could probably buy one and pay for shipping to you for less than that! I have one that I paid more than $4 for but it is big and a bit "nicer" than the smaller ones (I have one of those, too). Maybe I should just send you my littler one? It works fine for $4. I guess you should just make a list and go to Walmart - TP, paper towels, shampoo, cheese...
  24. I don't know what list she is referring to - but you wouldn't want a list that is 8 years old. Products change over time.
  25. Tell her you appreciate her support - both financially and emotionally. And you know you have some diet issues and you will do all the cooking and clean up from cooking. You just want to pull your weight around the house. Maybe offer to clean your bathroom every week or 2? The fact is, we mom's like having our kids, even adult ones at home. But we...
