  1. Or the OP to answer back with her recipe! I have had people PM me to ask why people are so rude and don't respond back. I have to explain that the person hasn't been on in 5 years.
  2. And often made from flour!
  3. Some people will want to fight about the FAQs. people who can't look at the 10 things posted in the last hour, and start another thread about turkey again!
  4. People who post about a predicament and we all get concerned and sucked in. We give suggestions and worry. They never come back and tell us how it went.
  5. Happy, Please note: you are replying to a 3 year old post. Hopefully the Original Poster has it figured out by now.
  6. Thanks!
  7. I find out what brand the pharmacy is using. Sometimes they can give a lot number or phone number for the company that makes it easier. always check before you buy it. If you find out after, you are stuck with the pills. They won't take them back. Your insurance has paid and will not pay again for the same thing. If it's a narcotic, even worse. It...
  8. Hormone craziness can make you nauseous, too. Maybe you don't really need the iron as a pill. Maybe you can increase it with food.
  9. Don't really care! Both are good! Just want to run away! Somewhere where someone else can make me food!
  10. Actually, if you want the iron to work, you don't take it with food. You take it on an empty stomach and wait 1-2 hours to eat after. It bothers my stomach too. Maybe you can just add a little more iron rich foods like egg yolk, red meat, blueberries raisins, etc. Cook on cast iron. No iron food with calcium. The calcium messes up the absorption of...
  11. Well...good girls! I remember SSG to be a reasonable person, so I knew she didn't think the evil gluten had sharp teeth and was burrowing into her hands in order to attack her gut. ( might make a good horror movie?) SSG - you have extra to handle. I suppose you can be grouchy if you want. I'm actually quite grouchy about my family & Thanksgiving...
  12. It's really pretty simple. You just bring your own food to eat. In a potluck situation, even things that should be safe, like carrot sticks, usually aren't. People will get crumbs on them or use the bread tongs to pick up and drop carrots. You can bring a dish to share, but take a portion for yourself before you put it on the table or before you leave...
  13. I think you & Lisa just misunderstood each other. That's all I was trying to clear up.
  14. I think she meant it can't get into your blood stream. I think I have seen that the gluten molecule is too large. It may go thru that top dry layer of skin making it next to impossible to wash off 30 minutes later when eating. That's why its not a good idea to get a gluteny lotion. I guess you could get someone else to rub it on your scaly heels or elbows...
  15. I think what we are all trying to say is: lotion and moisturizers in soap are meant to stick to your skin. So we rub it on well & it sticks, especially in the nooks and crannies. Most moisturizers are really barriers with some things that absorb. Gluten is too big to fit but if it's in the moisturizer, it will stick. Then it's hard to get off before...
  16. As I started looking around, not as many lotions & shampoos have gluten as I originally thought. 10-15 years ago? Every beauty product had wheat germ oil. We have had trends of aloe, oatmeal, jojoba, etc. I think wheat is not the trend right now. It's still in beauty products, so we need to look.
  17. J is back from college. He has found the perfect girl! He went 680 miles to find her. Guess what! She grew up & her parents live, 2 miles from us! She went to the other high school.
  18. Might be fun to have a " bad reputation".
  19. OMG, Heidi! That's soooooo grosssss! I think this happens to lots of people as they are just starting out. I had a lot of stuff that looked like sand. Sometimes, I think all that inflammation and gunk (highly technical medical term)is just making is way out. Tell your doctor. one or 2 times is probably not a big deal. Relax.

  21. This Green Bean casserole sounds yummy. A bit fancy if the family is expecting the French's version. It has a crispy onion topping. Open Original Shared Link
  22. I live in the Kansas City area (Mid-America). I live on the Kansas side. Here most people have yards, even apartment complexes have playgounds, pools, places for kids to ride bikes. We have lots of stuff for kids. Beautiful soccer, baseball & football facilities paid for with taxes. Lots of participation in organized sports. Excellant schools with...
  23. i'm in the US but I use pasta (marinara sauce) for pizza. If its a little too runny for you, you could strain it a bit. Its good becasue you only use about 1/3 of a jar maybe for the pizza and then can have pasta in a few days.
  24. Lots of things are made on shared equipment, even things labelled gluten-free. They are not required to tell you its shared equipment in the US.
