  1. Neither seem like good choices. The manager at one Panera told me not to even get coffee because that store makes the rolls, breads, etc. Perkins was always hit or miss when I was not gluten-free. I hope someone who lives there has an idea. just saw this. It's old but you could google & see if they are still around or close to where you are going...
  2. I think germs or bacteria are more of a worry than a stray cookie crumb. The cookie crumb should rinse off. Bacteria tend to grab on & need a bit of slippery soap and wiping or scrubbing.
  3. Thanks! I'm printing it & putting it in my cookbook.
  4. I found this website for corn free products. I would double check but this might give you a place to start. Open Original Shared Link analgesiac/pain killer Acetaminophen/Aspirin/Caffeine Goody's Headache Powders Goody's CC 6/2009 . analgesiac/pain killer Acetaminophen Tylenol suppositoriea suppositories Tylenol Note: there may be small quantities...
  5. Look at the ingredients. I use Minute Maid products all the time. There is no reason to put gluten in lemonade. Might be the lactose. Did you use the same pans & colanders that you used for gluten pasta?
  6. Some people know what Celiac is but for those that don't I say that wheat makes a hole in my intestines. I have found that the teenagers are better accepting or have more understanding of the basics. They have all had kids in school allergic to foods so they just take it in stride. When someone asks how I can eat my bread, I just say that its made with...
  7. I have been eating them. I'm thinking they may not be able to make much of anything else on those machines. It would be nice if they would say - all we make in the skittles part of the plant is skittles or we use the same machine for Twix or cookies or whatever. I think alot of companies could put people at ease if they told us " All we make at that plant...
  8. So sorry! I hope it works out well for you & the kids!
  9. If the bread is a "man issue", you don't buy it. It can be kept in the "man's domain". The garage! Or the dog house!
  10. Do you have a problem with corn? I don't know if they put that in dish soap. You might have to ask the actual companies. If you can't get the soap all rinsed off the dishes, it could be a problem. I have found that the major ones like Dawn are gluten-free.
  11. In the US, it isn't hiding gluten. Maybe it was something else that bothered you.
  12. In the US & Canada, carmel color containing gluten is a celiac myth.
  13. If you are wondering how they are handling the candy - write or call them.
  14. I will suggest those names! She liked Optimus Prime, the transformer, but we agreed it was too hard to yell if the dog is running down the street.
  15. Are you sure you were talking to a nurse, not the order taker at Dominos Pizza? I would insist on speaking with the doctor. Call back and tell them you can be home between 1-5 or whatever for him to call you to discuss the results & what to do next. Some docs around here seem to have a set time they call back, usually 5-7 pm. My parents doc...
  16. Not sure as I don't plan to eat Fluffy Snoflake Coconut Sugar Head. Much disagreement about a name for this pup. 7 year old girl wants names like coconut or snowball. 3 older brothers & dad want a name they aren't embarrassed to call. My boys said someone needs to explain that names with balls or nuts in them are not good choices. Perhaps, we should...
  17. Actually, there are 2 more options....keep the same job or leave. Do you want to move?
  18. I have a note from my doctor. I call places ahead & find out if they need any proof. One place sent me an email to show the security guards at the stadium door. Someplace like the indoor play place, I would just play for my 2 -3 hours & then go somewhere else to eat (a park, home, even the car).
  19. I believe it is registered with the FDA. It came with papers listing ingredients, nutrition info and safe care & handling practices.
  20. Stupid Spell Checker! Decides what it wants it to say.
  21. Cooper ( my dog) is in love. Not quite the right way to describe it. He always gets super excited to see small fluffy, light dogs. The neighbors behind us got a light, mostly white, Bischon/ Lasagna Apsa mix puppy. We have an iron fence behind so baby can get thru. Coop loves the 7 yr old girl, & her friendship with Cooper made the dad finally realize...
  22. They put the fortune cookies in because people complain that they want the fortune, even if they can't eat the cookie.
  23. Let's just think about how & where coffee is grown. It is grown in places like Hawaii, Sumatra, etc. Places where wheat likely doesn't grow. Unlikely anyone would grow coffee and wheat. Coffee gets harvested and put in those big bags. Then shipped to the places that roast them and package. There really isn't likely anything else processed in a Folgers...
  24. Maybe take a sharpie pen & write " Glutinator" on the current XBox controller. Then get a nice new one, maybe in a different color for gluten-free people only.
