  1. Oh-I like those shimmers too Berneses!
  2. Good to know--scary too!! On that note, I have a friend who was a server at a local restaurant, they also had a similar salad set-up. For some reason she said they would get spiders and "bugs" in the salad from time to time. They'd just pull them out before serving. Yikes!
  3. Judy- Wish I could be your "personal doctor advocate" and accompany you on appointments so I could "put the smack down" when necessary. Like "Excuse me Doctor, but using that tone with my client is completely inappropriate. Or, "Our time is not up. If you leave this room now, I will slash your tires." Wish I knew more for you...
  4. I can only have small amounts of corn--can't eat regular chips but can eat these--and unfortunately I LOVE them too much The ones in the red bag taste like doritos too... I usually get the original, turquoise bag, for dipping...
  5. https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=1281 Read the article above--helpful info on the pros and cons of doing a gluten challenge...isn't always accurate or effective unfortunately.
  6. hmmm, not sure about a connection, but i had reoccurent tonsillitis also-all through high school, was miserable. got tonsills taken out summer before college. ouch! but worth it!
  7. Well, time to renew my favorite thread So, this year I am thinking of doing the raised beds for the garden. Thinking beans, roma tomatoes and more peppers--loved those last year. Any tips of the raised beds? I am such a novice at gardening math too. Any help calculating the square yards of soil I will need to buy? Who all has done beans--did you buy...
  8. I found this, below. So are they saying your symptoms are due to this and not sjorgren's? Most of what I saw was diabetic related too... What are your symptoms--dry eyes and pain? Sorry Judy... Retinopathy damages the retina by destroying the capillaries (minuscule blood vessels connecting arteries and veins) that provide blood to the retina,...
  9. I switched to 'natural' products when I went gluten-free, and you would have to order it online--but I love the Tropical Traditions lotions. I get very dry hands that crack and bleed in the winter and this lotion has made a big improvement. Love it ! Open Original Shared Link I bought the lavendar and rub it in every night before I go to bed. I use it...
  10. How much alcohol? Are you drinking fairly frequently?
  11. Thanks for sharing and good luck! And thanks for doing the work so us Chicago visitors can just come up and enjoy ! Let us know as you continue to make headway...
  12. What type of bleeding? As was touched on already, bright read blood is usually less concerning since it signals bleeding close to the exit, like hemmorhoids. Darker blood means it is from further up the chain. Is it a few drops on the TP or something more substantial? Do you have constipation at all?
  13. Great to hear about the people who are being responsive and solution-oriented to the group outings etc. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Not till May I think. I'm a big plan-aheader
  15. Thanks friends! Going to put a big ol' list together before the trip. Can't wait to ck out babycakes too--all about the gluten-free/cf
  16. Jen- Glad I am able to offer you some encouragement! A few more questions What is your rash like? Is it like DH or psoriasis, excema or ? And what does your pain feel like? Muscle pain, bone pain, in specific areas, to the touch? You said it hurts like you've been beat up...ever explored the type of pain in Fibromyalgia? It occurs frequently in...
  17. Thanks Carole--will have to ck that out. Was it about "treatment" ideas or just about the pathology of the disease ?
  18. Earth Balance---me too! Sticks in baking etc have worked great and I also do the tub 'butter' too.
  19. Pamela's website says the brownie mix is milk-free. This link below lists the ingredients/allergens in the mix if that helps. Sometimes a product can produce a sinus reaction...try and track the ingredients and see if you get a similar reaction when eating another product. However, as I am typing this I do have my second sinus infection since Feb so,...
  20. YES YES YES YES YES!!!! Your doctor is working out of the "old-school" paradigm of Celiac. I had major constipation with my Celiac. And there are many others here that had the same symptom, rather than D. You don't have to have a cycle of it with D either (some do though)--you can just have constant C. Perhaps you need to take in some literature or a...
  21. That really really stinks girl. Hey--they also spelled your name wrong!! Not such attention to detail, huh? I can't believe they charged you for the tuna either... If you don't think they really "got" the mistake or how serious it was I'd say you will have to reiterate your situation to them again. Hopefully this will be a wakeup call. I hope your symptoms...
  22. I agree with Vincent. Going gluten-free will definitely skew your results, as can being gluten-free, then doing a 'gluten challenge.' If you want a conventional med diagnosis, wait on diet and get in for tests. Glad your first meal was sucessful and that you felt good--Good news then for what's to come!
  23. Well, we all know that women don't poop, fart or sweat!
  24. Thanks Patti! You rock my world
  25. Just thought of the owner of my mom's company...he would always take the WSJ into the bathroom with him, in plain view of everyone, on the #2 trips---like "Guess what I'm going to be doing?" Maybe its a guy thing?
