  1. oh boy....this story gets better and better....a double order of lawsuits, anyone??
  2. ah, my meaty friend ...glad I can help somehow. YOU ---and everyone else on here--- have been a LIFELINE...really couldn't do this without the support of this awesome community!!
  3. I was going to say yesterday ANYONE can create a false resume, but decided not to say that and sound so cynical... ah well. ....he's TOAST now (not gluten free ) and if he is prosecuted, all the better. I see it made the news (admin posted it) what a sad little man.....
  4. he's in the news!! Posted right here by admin. Open Original Shared Link
  5. Hi Everyone! If you are still having headaches, feeling tired, short of breath, dragging your feet, depressed, hair still falling out (and maybe your tongue feels inflamed)and it is NOT your thyroid or D-3 level, because those are "normal".... and you know for SURE you are 100% gluten-free...and still feel lousy...well, you may have a FOLATE deficiency...
  6. TEXAS, You have been very encouraging and helpful to me and now, I wish I could offer the right words to you. I do not know your whole story up 'til now, but I have read what you posted here and all I can say is....you already KNOW what you need to do, hon. You have fought long and hard to be well. He is undermining your efforts and putting you at...
  7. I knew I had a B-12, D-3 deficiency and supplemented but still wondered what else was going on. I found this article interesting as well. B Vitamin Supplements Recommended for Celiac Patients by Gluten Free Advocates + Experts, Posted July 14th, 2010 at 2:15 pm One of the major health concerns regarding a gluten-free diet is increased homocysteine...
  8. I requested blood work from my doctor because I am still so fatigued, a tad anxious and depressed (not my personality at all!) gluten-free 3 months later and wondered about the thyroid function, folate levels, ferritin storage levels. I have had B-12 and D testing done and know those are good now. Notice,I said I REQUESTED because essentially, I am my own...
  9. I get that burning, too!! It's nagging, isn't it! It was 24/7, often waking me up at night, but it has decreased slowly during these last 3 months (totally gluten-free). I notice it sometimes after eating bananas and after taking my gluten-free/SF/DF vitamins and supplements (so I cut back on those for now), but otherwise, it has decreased significantly...
  10. Good for you, Kiddo! I want you to know that I have informed all of my family and friends, too, right from the beginning....and they still "don't get it" but they try. Some do. Some have taken to ignoring me. It hurts my feelings, but so be it. You just keep taking care of YOU right now. One thing most of us forget is...this is a disease...
  11. Oh, hon...please do not be sad. I'm going to be all right in time. I have no doubt. I had some bad breaks, but I am a fighter and have my PC doctor on board 100% now. This site was a major factor in convincing me my "functional med"doctor, the gastro's NP, and the blood tests were wrong. My gluten-free diet has proven that...and little by little, I...
  12. There are lists of products on the site to help you, if you are wondering which ones are gluten-free. I think Suave is ok...and that is a nice, inexpensive brand. I had to clean out my pantry and bathroom too.. all that good stuff (sigh).....but, the local food pantry got a lot of items for their shelves. It's hard at first to figure it all out, but...
  13. that is good to know....Thanks, Janet!
  14. I don't ...please, tell me! I'm curious. And, as for this guy---he sounds like he has serious anger issues. Gee, angry outbursts are a sign of food intolerances....Maybe HE needs to be gluten free
  15. I was hesitant to say this, too...but...DOES she know you are a celiac, Brigit? If so, then, yes, what was she thinking?????? :o
  16. They are required by law (at least in NY) to give you a copy of your test results upon request. My doctors ask for a written request --for their records--and they fax or mail it to me. I always ask for copies of test results now because I have been "borderline" anemic and hypothyroid all of my life and was told "your tests are fine"... These are all indicators...
  17. I tested NEG on blood testing. MANY people test NEG. I believe the estimate now is that people test FALSELY NEG nearly 40% of the time? Those are pretty bad odds. I believed those test results (and a few arrogant, ill-informed doctors) and deteriorated further....I was deathly ill. It wasn't until I went back to my PC doctor who said "tests are NEG too...
  18. As I understand it, there is no such thing as "mildly celiac"...that's like being "sorta pregnant"!! If you shows signs of the disease, you have the disease. You probably have come to this conclusion by now. You need to be 100% gluten free. I think people without the severe gastro symptoms have a harder time because they do not "feel" anything...
  19. Sorry, sweetie. Have you told her you have celiac and you must maintain a lifelong avoidance of gluten to keep you healthy? She may need to be educated a bit. My family and friends have been educated, but sadly, they still don't grasp it entirely. In time, I hope they will.
  20. Symptoms may go away in stages, so it is not an easy question to answer. It may take much longer than the choices you have posted here. Maybe 6 months. Maybe a year. I have been gluten-free for 3 months and my intense fog head and diarrhea and dizziness are gone, but I have about 50 more symptoms to go... Everyone is different. You will need patience...
  21. Cannot begin to tell you how much I can relate to your frustration and anger. I have had many years of this kind of "treatment" from doctors. I was left to dwindle down to nothing. When I am fully healed, I will be sending them all a letter, telling them exactly what was REALLY wrong with me and how they missed the boat. There's not much we can do...
  22. Jessica, Thanks for this info!
  23. I am speechless...and if you have read any of my posts, you know that doesn't happen very often... :o I am thinking of many things I would call him, but they would be edited for sure.
  24. Oh, your family lives near that river too....Da'Nile??? My family is similar, they try to understand, they KNOW full well in their guts (pun intended) they are celiac/GI themselves, but they will NOT even entertain the idea or be tested or try the diet. They are loaded with autoimmune diseases, depression, allergies, etc.... but they do not hear me when...
