ARCHIVED Have You Been Told It Is All In Your Head?
IrishHeart replied to lovechild's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I usually do not bother to explain myself to anyone. . No one I know who saw me dying from undiagnosed celiac would ever dare mention "you're making this up" to me, but here is something you could ask: "Why would I make something up? what would be my motive?" and "Who the hell makes up hypothroidism, anemia and hypoglycemia?" That's not possible... -

non-chalant and graceful, I am sure!! Addy...we've got another Lucy Ricardo here! yes, I remember fish boy. I have "meat counter guy" myself. He actually looks past others and asks me what I would like today? (even when I am not first in line)...he told me 15 years ago that he likes me best because the first time I came in, I asked "May I have..... -

ARCHIVED Help? With Coffee?
IrishHeart replied to kitkatkid's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I drink plain, unflavored coffee from DD, Starbucks, and just about any restaurant or friend's home I have ever gone into and I have never had a problem. Gluten in coffee is extremely rare (those barley coffees are the exception) and if you look at the list from that first teenage blogger you posted, you'll notice he is listing many chocolate drinks... -
ARCHIVED Can Someone Help Me Differentiate Between Salicylate And Histamine Intolerance?
IrishHeart replied to seraphim's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
No, that is not what the anion gap represents. My sister and other relatives have diabetes, but I don't. They have all sorts of diseases I do not have. If you had obvious signs of diabetes, I am sure your doctor would be on top of it. For starters, you'd be spilling sugar in your urine. It does not mean you will develop it just because other relatives... -

ARCHIVED Can Someone Help Me Differentiate Between Salicylate And Histamine Intolerance?
IrishHeart replied to seraphim's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
The alkaline diet could over-restrict protein and calcium, though. Not a good idea unless it is supervised by a medical doctor. (that article Lima Bean posted explains it in detail) By the way. I asked you this last night. but you did not really answer me--who told you that your body is "acidic"? Your body's pH is not something indicated in the anion... -
ARCHIVED Happy Spring, Fellow Gardeners!
IrishHeart replied to notme's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Yeah, we have investigated every option for handling those Japanese beetles. The answer is to place the traps 30 feet away from the garden beds ---with perfectly stationed traps in a giant square--down wind, etc.---- and this is very effective. It lures them away from the flowers and veggies. I do not notice an increase in the bugs as a result. I... -
ARCHIVED Can Someone Help Me Differentiate Between Salicylate And Histamine Intolerance?
IrishHeart replied to seraphim's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
The anion gap is an indicator of acidosis. This is not the same as saying "my body is acidic". Those are two entirely different things. Let your doctor go over the test results with you before you assume anything. Levels on blood tests fluctuate often. If your anion gap was so high you would have acidosis, from diabetes (which you don't have... -

ARCHIVED Can Someone Help Me Differentiate Between Salicylate And Histamine Intolerance?
IrishHeart replied to seraphim's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
ANY diet that severely limits food groups and choices without an adequate nutritional substitute is not realistic or healthy. Sal and histamine intolerances require finding your tolerance level, not eliminating every food under the sun. Read the links I gave you, please. Why can't you eat any other proteins? -

beans are good protein, yes. But what else do you eat for protein? You are expressing concerns about malnourishment and maybe we can help you broaden your protein intake with some suggestions. -

Hon, not sure what company name you tried to write there, but if they have spammed the forum in the past (which is not allowed), their name will not appear when you type it out exactly as it is.
