  1. Hello key, Ive been reading an old post about the abdominal pain you were experiencing at night time.

My daughter has recently been diagnosed as Celiac and is suffering with the same pain at night. Did you ever find out how to control this? She is already on the diet and was ok for a few months but recently had a stomach bug and is up every night again.

    Any advice you can...

  2. You had no way of knowing and the sad part is alot of people suffer for years not knowing. I am pretty sure that mine started in High school. I was anemic then and fatigued and just had more "downtimes". I was always such a happy go lucky kid before that. I didn't find out I had it until after my third boy was born. Two out of my three kids had birth defects...
  3. I would take an iron supplement. If not eat lots of foods high in Iron. You don't want to become anemic during pregnancy, which will add to exhaustion. Goodluck, Monica
  4. I don't eat out much at all, because I haven't had a bit of luck! I get sick 99% of the time. Just ate at PF Chang's the other day and I don't know what they did, but had the big D for the whole day and sick as a dog the day before. It really stinks to not be able to eat out. I am SO terrified of getting gluttened, from all my bad experiences, that I can...
  5. I started having problems with eating in high school. AT that time, I would go days without eating hardly anything. I lost weight, but never lost my period. My family was extremely worried. I got better in College, but then had some problems one summer. I think my problem started in high school. I was anemic and fatigued. My problems with anorexia had...

  7. THanks for the recipe. I will definitely try it. We are very frustrated eating gluten free and being vegetarian. I feel like I am so unhealthy now. I know it shouldn't be that way, but I had so much trouble finding food that agreed with me, that I pretty much gave up and eat whatever is available and already made! We will finally be in our new house and so...
  8. I feel for you. I haven't eaten meat ever in my life, but now that I can't eat SO many things and I am so sick of the stuff I do eat after two years, I have seriously considered it. I just wouldn't have a clue how to cook it. Plus, I am scared my body wouldn't know what to do with it. Beans don't seem to agree with me very well and that is what I have been...
  9. 1. Family that don't understand or believe you have celiac disease. 2. Never being able to eat out without getting sick. 3. I miss going to social events that all revolve around food. 4. Traveling is a pain in the butt! 5. I hate it that I am a vegetarian too! 6. THat I am STILL sick over 50% of the time, even though I am gluten free and not sure why...
  10. I also have a 3 year old with celiac. He doesn't act interested in our food most of the time. HE doesn't know any different as to what he eats. He is picky in some ways. He loves Peas. He will eat bowls of them at a time. Loves spaghetti, Pamela's pancakes, gluten-free toast, PB&J on Kinnikinnick brown bread. He also likes gluten-free pizza. He hates...
  11. Zofran is awesome if she can get some one to prescribe it for her. I would think YOu could find a doctor that would if he was compassionate enough. It is expensive, but there is a generic that came out now. It is give to cancer patients. It doesn't have the same drowsy side effect as the Phenergan. I have taken it and it works wonders!! Monica
  12. I don't think that celiac's usually have a problem with beans. Maybe in the beginning. It does sound like you are eating quite a bit of meat. It isn't good to eat too much and it doesn't have any fiber. I think you are probably eating more then would be recommended. Of course everyone is different and what one person can tolerate, maybe you can't. Nuts and...
  13. It has only been 5 days and my son was definitely lactose intolerant for about 6 months. I have him alot of organic soy formula and soy yogurt for months, because he didn't tolerate or want everything. Now it has been about 2 years on the diet and he eats everything that is gluten free. He eats dairy fine now. I would give it more then 5 days and take...
  14. My mom was just taking this and weaned off of it, because it quit working after a few weeks. Anyway, My doctor wanted me to take it. HE sort of gave me a hard time, like it would "fix" all my problems!! I told him I was trying natural stuff, which he did give me some advice reguarding probiotics, etc. It must make doctors feel badly to have prescribed something...
  15. I have a three year old too right now. He is my third and I am pregnant right now too. He is definitely a challenge right now. The worst part is that he isn't ready to give up his nap, but some days he needs one, but then he keeps coming out of his room at night when he has one. He will just wonder around upstairs being kind of loud. They will definitely...
  16. I would question Van's waffles. If this has been a staple in her diet almost everyday. THere have been MANY people on here that have been gluttened and sickened from their waffles. I don't know if they test them or not. They make alot of wheat products too. Maybe some other people will let you know what they think. I don't eat Van's waffles, because so many...
  17. I too am pregnant. I have three boys named Bryce, Braden(Brady) and Connor. I am really having a hard time coming up with a boys name that fits with theirs. A friend of ours named their baby Gunner and I didn't like it at first, but now i really like it. I think that would be another option for you, if you like it. I do think Gunther is a bit different...
  18. I saw you listed Ore Ida tator tots. On the package it doesn't list gluten, but when you look on their website the tator tots aren't on their safe list. I have thought that I reacted to them, before I knew this. I am wondering if they forgot to put them on their website or if there is a risk for CC. Does anyone know this?? Who eats tator tots? I would love...
  19. I would think Aloe Vera juice would help. I used it for awhile and it seemed to help. Flaxseed oil is another one that is healing. There are dozens of other natural remedies that may help, but these were the two I thought of. Monica

    ARCHIVED Flax Seed Oil

common sense tells me that you probably haven't harmed your baby. I didn't know this either, but read it the other day on the internet. I have a friend that has taken it daily with all four of her babies. Aloe vera isn't good either I guess. I don't think they really know much. I know primrose oil can stimulate contractions. THis would be the only legitimate...

    ARCHIVED Ibs

If your gut tells you to go through with it, then I would. Like other's have said, it could be as simple as dairy, but I guess with bleeding, etc. it could definitely be something else going on. I feel for you have to go through with this colonoscopy on a six year old. My colonoscopy was scheduled late in the day too and it wasn't fun. I was starving...
  22. I am glad that it has worked for you for so long. I don't know if your symptoms would come back. I think with IBS symptoms they can come and go, depending on what is going on with your life and your diet, etc. Monica
  23. I am wondering if anyone else reacts to Pamela's pancake mix. I hadn't been eating it and was sick two days in a row when I ate it again. I don't know for sure if this was it. My 3 year old has been eating it forever and isn't really growing. He doesn't have diarhea anymore, but I am just wondering if he is reacting to it, to some small degree. He hasn't...
  24. My doctor prescribed it for me, but I didn't take it. My mom is taking it with Librax 3 times a day. It helped her for about a month, but from what I have seen, she still has as many problems as before, but can't wean off of it or her stomach hurts. I don't think it is the cure all at all. I haven't seen where anyone has been able to have it work for years...
  25. My son is only 3 years old and has been gluten free for 2 years this May, but he is still very small. He doesn't look emaciated, but he isn't even on the charts for height I bet. He looks like he is two years old. He is so much different and thriving gluten free, but just growing very slowly. My other two kids are in the 25th percentile and not that big....
