I had a gallbladder-like stinging pain when I ate gluten before going gluten-free. It was one of my main symptoms. My Dr did an ultrasound and said there was nothing wrong with it! I still get stinging from time to time. IMO the celiac disease does something to it..but I dunno? Wishing you a speeedy recovery. Throwing up after having surgery is miserable...

You could also have a yeast over growth in your intestines? It would make you crave sweets..and cause bloating. Try a good probiotic and do your best to aviod sugar and yeast containing products. -

ARCHIVED Blood Test Normal
Bubba's Mom replied to Fairy Dancer's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Some of us are celiac but our blood tests in the normal range. My Dr did an endoscope and found severe villi damage. She sent biopsies and it was confirmed celiac. Even with the scope it's not always found. The wrong area could be biosied or the damage might exist out of the range of the scope. The small intestine is pretty long. If you did a gluten... -
ARCHIVED There Is Nothing Left To Eat.
Bubba's Mom replied to jackay's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I think you could eat pork fried rice..made with brown rice and pork, bacon or ham? Don't add the scrambled egg at the end and look for gluten free soy sauce. Baked kale chips for snacks Open Original Shared Link Swiss chard Open Original Shared Link Jicama salad Open Original Shared Link Snack on Yellow Delicious apples. I think all of... -
I think we had the holy grail of bad ingredients for supper last night? It was chile with kidney beans, tomatoes, bell pepper, over pasta which was corn/rice based. Hubby put cheese on his. I noticed I burped it up, which I haven't been doing with other foods lately. I'm going to do some experimenting.

I asked my GI Dr about leaky gut after seeing it mentioned here. She had never heard of it! I read the article that was posted and it seems like so many things would be eliminated..I'm wondering what we COULD eat? I wish there was a treatment center we could just go to where they'd give us our meals and and suppliments and we'd focus on doing nothing...

i've read that you can burn off any gluten or other contaminents by baking a 500* oven for an hour..or on your oven's cleaning setting. I ran across a blog recently by a guy who cooks with cast iron and is celiac. He has tons of info on his site along with a lot of good looking recipes. Maybe you could send him a note with your question? Open Original...

ARCHIVED Llicking Envelopes?
Bubba's Mom replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
The Dr Oz show is the one I saw. They're running repeats all summer. I got glutened from something, so when I wasn't able to figure it out..the envelopes made sense. I guess I have a bit more detective work to do? -
ARCHIVED Llicking Envelopes?
Bubba's Mom replied to ebrbetty's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I got glutened somehow this week. I've been trying to pinpoint the cause without any good ideas, until I saw a mention of the glue on envelopes and stamps on a show on tv that discussed Celiac disease. I posted mail on Tuesday and Wednesday both. I licked 4 envelopes. It's enough to make me feel really ill! I thought I'd post to this topic to bump... -
I had corn on the cob two days ago and when it left my stomach about 2 hours later it caused me a lot of gut pain. In the past I didn't have trouble with it. I know it can be hard to digest, especially if not chewed well. It could just be that your (and my) intestines aren't feeling healthy right now? I wondered if some types were more difficult to digest...

I'm 6 weeks off gluten and have been getting chest pains, anxiety, trouble sleeping..and on and on. I've found that a lot of these symptoms are from low calcium, low magnesium, low potassium, and low phosphorous levels in one's system. This could be due to villi damage from gluten(like in my case) or poor diet, or both. Whatever you decide about testing...

ARCHIVED Is Anyone Else Just Angry That Drs Missed Celiac For So Many Years?
Bubba's Mom replied to HaileyRay812's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm angry too! I can't remember a time I felt really healthy. I've been misdiagnosed and given meds for a variety of symptoms, but never DXed correctly. I've had different Dr.s and they all said I needed anxiety meds, sleep meds, stomach acid meds, asthma meds, allergy shots and most recently..."just eat Tums". I've had several things like skin cancer... -
I get a reaction every time I go in the bakery section at the grocery store. I feel like my throat is closing and I have to keep clearing my throat. My chest gets tight. I wanted food allergy testing because the reaction is scary. I just had the testing yesterday. It turns out I don't have a wheat allergy, but the Dr explained there is a "type 3" allergy...

ARCHIVED New To The Forum
Bubba's Mom replied to MacheHill's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Hello..welcome! Instead of thinking about what you can't have..think about what you CAN. Shop the outer perameter of the grocery store and buy fruits, veggies, unprocessed meats, eggs, and dairy. You can have stews, stir frys, meats and veggies on the grill, omelettes, etc. The gluten free pasta isn't bad. Maybe when you tried the diet before there... -
ARCHIVED Biopsy Tomorrow
Bubba's Mom replied to lucky28's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
The test isn't bad, so don't worry. I hope they find answers for you! There's always a possibility that the biopsy could come back negative and you still have disease. They might not get the right spots for biopsy because the small intestine is longer than their scope..unfortunately. If you feel better off gluten, then go off after your biopsy. ... -
ARCHIVED New To Gluten-Free Concept
Bubba's Mom replied to neal's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Boy Neal, if you passed a worm, it might be a good idea to see a Dr? If there are more you won't get a healthy digestive sysyem no matter what you do. I had pinworms as child and my Mother went to pharmacy and got medicine to get rid of them. She didn't like Dr.s either. I don't know if a Pharmacist could give you something these days without a Dr's... -
I wouldn't have guessed the Olive Oil would be cc'd. Good detective work there! (((hugs)))

ARCHIVED Mayo Clinic -- Symptoms
Bubba's Mom replied to timothymichael's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
They make gluten free beer! I'm not a beer drinker, so I don't know the brands so do an online search? You have so many symptoms that seem like they could be an intollerance to gluten if not Celiac? Another thing to consider is soy. A lot of restaurants use soy oils and seasonings with soy.
