  1. My husband would be all over that. He's twisted like that. I on the other hand do not do needles. I get all squeamish about my flu shot or blood draws.
  2. I totally missed this before, but I completely agree with the trazodone. It is so awesome. I can sleep through the night and don't wake up feeling like I'm some sort of zombie. I hope they schedule you soon, nothing irritates me more than being told I need a test then it taking forever to schedule. My husband has been using his CPAP about two months now and...

  4. "From his perspective, Fasano says, goals that remain are discovering a "safety net" treatment, a complement to a gluten-free diet for people who inadvertently are exposed, and to find a way to prevent the disorder." Should we band together and buy the man a cape? Green, the color of our ribbon... right?
  5. Indian food sounds delicious. Either kind really. Here in Utah it can be rather confusing about which you're going out for if someone isn't specific. Apparently my husband brought home a LOT of steak. So, steak is for dinner. Not complaining at all! No such thing as too much steak. I'll look up a recipe and do something fabulous tonight I think. I've...
  6. We have a peach tree in the yard. I was wondering if I could find a way to make little peach underoos and sell packs of peaches in panties at the market when they're ready.
  7. One of the things that I specifically cited to my husband as a reason we will never move into Salt Lake county, even though I would prefer to live there for the culture is the water. Here in Utah County the water is not fluoridated, it is in Salt Lake county. We could move another 15-20 minutes drive north, but no more than that. I already refuse to drink...
  8. Everything about this article speaks for itself. http://kotaku.com/peaches-sold-as-sexy-butts-in-china-1613809697
  9. I very carefully make a dent in it at least every other day. I was doing really well and down to 3, but then a brand of ice cream local to where I grew up that they just recently started selling here went on sale. My hips can't take much more of these summer ice cream sales, but it certainly does my heart good. As a matter of fact, it's sounding good right...
  10. I could probably make a similar joke about ice cream right now. I have 5 boxes of ice cream in my freezer. I regular, over my refrigerator freezer. It's taking up half the space.
  11. I'm not sure if there are enriched flours, but I know there are enriched breads available. If that is what someone is after, they are certainly welcome to enjoy them. It is obvious that this isn't something that is easily agreed upon. Honestly, many of us have had very poor experiences with the medical community. Research I'm happy to look at, a pile of opinions...
  12. To my understanding, and someone may correct me if I'm wrong, but the statement "no gluten ingredients" is not the same as making a gluten free claim. The gluten free claim specifically uses the words gluten free. A perfect example of this is the way Frito-Lay has been doing things for as long as I've been at this. They have some items they list as gluten...
  13. Hellman's/Best Foods makes a mayo with a yellow lid that is soy free. And it isn't something you have to go look for at a health food store or that costs 3 times as much as regular mayo.
  14. I can't remember the last time we had nachos for supper. It's a brilliant idea that will get me in front of the TV and my beloved Doctor sooner. I should try it Saturday night when I know I won't feel up to cooking.
  15. We tried the cheeseburger macaroni skillet meal thing. It wasn't bad. It was certainly far FAR better than that Mrs. Leeper's stuff. (It didn't taste like a box of salt.) It also certainly isn't brand name quality. With the price being so low for a gluten free food, I'd say it is definitely worth it for anyone who needs to keep something on hand for a relatively...
  16. My husband is bringing home steak for dinner. I do have plans for "soon" though. One of the local stores just started carrying a frozen gluten free orange chicken without any super weird ingredients. I'm pretty excited. I think tomorrow or Saturday I'm going to stop in and pick it up instead of daydreaming about it. It'll probably turn into one of those things...
  17. Yesterday I found the How Can It Be Gluten Free cookbook on the porch. I'm SO excited! I can't wait to try making bread. But I have that chicken in the freezer for fried chicken too. I'm thinking I need to try that recipe really soon. And cookies and cakes and pie. I feel like I gained 10 pounds browsing the book.
  18. This sounds awesome. We have a small pizza chain in northern Utah that has double kitchens. And their pizza is freakin awesome! I gotta get there soon, they have a summer specialty pizza called a bacon-berry pie that I've got to try. Strawberry-balsamic sauce, chicken, bacon, mozz, red onions and feta then topped with fresh strawberries and cilantro after...
  19. Which is kind of my point. I don't see the benefit in doing something unnecessary to raise those prices further.
  20. It is our responsibility to know what we're eating and eat a balanced diet and if necessary, supplement with vitamins. After being diagnosed I had blood work done twice that year, and do it once a year now, to check for any deficiencies. While many of us enjoy packaged products, there are many of us who also prefer our food to be as unadulterated as possible...
  21. I kept almost talking my husband into lawn flamingos for our garden this year. Thankfully he kept talking me down... I never knew they were so dangerous!

  23. This is the most useful information I could find. It sounds like they're specifying it isn't barley malt? Not a whole lot of particularly useful, fast and easy to find info on seed malt. I did see one company post on facebook about it that they made it from rice. I doubt every company does though, I imagine it could be from plenty of types of seeds. http...
  24. You're so twisted. I was looking at your little chubby headed unicorn last night and thinking about how adorable he is. Makes me smile. I much prefer the happy purple unicorn to the vomiting rainbows one. My husband is gonna kill me for this... but after Easter when all the baskets were half off they had one with a little chubby alicorn in it. (An alicorn...
  25. If you read here, there is a summary from the article they link. Basically, even in cheeses with molds cultured on something gluteny there is no detectible gluten in the cheese. The paper linked is from 2009, at this point after five years there should no longer be a debate. Blue cheese is safe. Open Original Shared Link
