  1. Done baking in plenty of time to rest up, clean the kitchen and make some dinner later. I'm just about ready to crawl back into some toasty warm jammies. I have more snow on order and want my pants to still fit at the end of the week so anyone who wants to come help me eat all these cookies is more than welcome to! I've got ginger snaps and orange cream filled...
  2. I've never seen it with gluten, and can't imagine why it would have it. That said, when I do occasionally indulge I will not buy anything with a "list" of ingredients. The only ingredient in it should be cultured cream, or barring that it could have two ingredients, cream and culture. Why companies need to have half a dozen or more things in it is beyond...
  3. First kind of cookies, done! I may have eating a half dozen or so while they were still dough. Getting done in time with all my cookies so I can cook supper is not looking good. Especially since I can't be on my feet too long at once without terrible cramping so I need frequent breaks to let my legs rest. Oh well, I guess we're having cookies for supper...
  4. My cookies still have not made themselves. Turns out though that today is a perfect Christmas Eve. It is snowing lightly, I have a few errands to run, but nothing urgent. I'll get it all done before lunch. Heck, I'm still in my jammies at my computer at 9:30. Before dinner I'll have the counter covered in fresh baked cookies, the yard will have a few...
  5. I managed to make dinner tonight. Fried up some beef tips and hash browns. Miraculously I also managed to somehow wake up sicker today than yesterday after sleeping for 12 hours. I am, without a doubt, going to be spending Christmas sick. Sure beats spending it recovering from surgery! In my infinite wisdom though I forgot to list parchment paper on my shopping...
  6. Hah! My husband and I spend the whole year looking forward to and saving up for our Christmas splurge. I know that it probably seems selfish but I've never actually felt guilty. We spend more on ourselves and each other than we spend on anyone else, most of this ends up being spent on things that while they aren't necessities, will make our lives much easier...
  7. Made up words do not require proper spelling. Please excuse my hasty exit before IH gets her hands on me for saying so.
  8. The good news is that my husband is finally entirely out of spaghetti sauce in the freezer. The bad news is that that left me with no clue what to make, I was left resorting to steak and beans. Poor us! I'm not sure if I want to take on a new sauce recipe tomorrow or wait until after Christmas. I'm fighting a killer sinus infection and already need...
  9. Well I stayed up a little later than I should have last night and as scheduled my alarm went off this morning. Additionally, although I actually own a box of Twinkies which automatically makes me ready for the zombie apocalypse, there are no zombies in my back yard. Guess that makes it time for ebay. On the bright side, this is shaping up to be...
  10. Would it truly be heaven without a cabana boy that looks like a Norse god? I think not.
  11. Hey now, I'm not the one with the scary emoticons! I would certainly think so! I would end up criminally insane listening to harps all day long. If all else fails, we'll smuggle it in.
  12. I don't do the rhyming thing, but in case the world ends tomorrow I figure I better post today. I don't want to hit the other side being the jerk who didn't have time to say Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone, and may the new year be filled with new found health, many gluten free goodies and a rich abundance of blessings. And if I am as wrong...
  13. Well no, and I have as much patience as a 2 year old who just ate an entire night's trick-or-treat candy, but that isn't the point! I'm not sure how long it takes, but when the did my husband's tests they didn't call for THREE WHOLE DAYS!!!
  14. If there is one thing you need to learn, it is patience!
  15. I haven't made any yet due to my whole not supposed to be eating bacon thing but, how does someone find out that it would last 4 weeks? I mean, the idea that anyone remotely human with working taste buds could make it last even half that long is beyond my comprehension.
  16. Your doctor is an idiot for a variety of reasons. Telling someone to go gluten free before an endoscopy is, in short, moronic. It can lead to a false negative. Of course, false positive blood work is pretty much unheard of so it isn't the worst thing in the world except that your doctor (based on his level of stupidity) will then cease to take anything...
  17. I you aren't being a pain in the butt, you're doing it wrong! I think we're all in good company around here. I like this idea a lot. A whole new way to be a pain in the butt.
  18. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were a little sharper than that and would figure it out on your own. After all, you said you'll eat anything. I was referring to the distinct possibility of being a giant pain in the buttocks. Please excuse me while I collect my butt and make a hasty exit!!
  19. You're a little late for that.

Between this and cookies you are having a pretty fantabulous December!
  21. Whole foods means truly no pre-packaged foods. (I'm not meaning your rice milk that is saving you from milk, but honestly most things that have ingredients and aren't simply a fruit, veggie or meat.) A lot of recommendations are to also give up milk because of the fact that it is so difficult to digest with the type of damage that celiacs have before we begin...
  22. If only we could all get there I am quite sure we could all find a way to keep those boys warm.
  23. Thanks for the tip, and maybe I wasn't totally clear on this with all of my comments on testing and trying to expand my diet. I have completely given up trying to expand my diet. I have for over two months now been on raw milk which I didn't know then, but understand now is A2. It has been for that entire time, until "the incident" been the exclusive source...
  24. Well... at least I refrain from actual slapping! And yes, imaginary slapping is a lifestyle. I could think of a few, but none I can repeat here. (I haven't had positive interactions.)
  25. You poor thing. That may be the saddest thing I ever heard. It is the primary reason Wendy's became my go-to if I just HAD to eat and wasn't home. I also have a keychain so every time I go I get a free kid sized Frosty. I just grill the counter person, harass them about stuff and get some fries to dip in it.
