  1. gemlechner, Did you get some testing done, or how is this playing out?
  2. Mine wasn't probably measured at its lowest point. When I knew of my levels it was just borderline low. It was at borderline low even though I ate a high iron diet and supplemented. When my ferritin levels finally came up, I could breath deeper. I believe my level was 14 when first tested with 15 being low normal range.
  3. I hope your endoscopy will be conclusive for you. It sure seems your absorption isn't working so good assuming your diet is rich in nutrients. Dee
  4. For me my situation was so complicated that eating one ingredient in particular would not have been inconclusive. Like you can eat Vital gluten, but there is also gluten in the bread. Also you could avoid wheat bread, eating rye instead but that also contains gluten. I did a total elimination diet and had only rice and peanut butter, but now I know I have...
  5. I haven't bought the brand you mentioned, but I do make my own broth. I just put the chicken bones back in to crockpot and cook overnight. If I think of it I also toss some vegetables in. In the morning I run it through a strainer and the broth is delicious. I used some broth to nourish me when I had colonoscopy prep and my blood test afterward showed...
  6. Parasites can damage the villi according to the doctor which examined my son for parasites. My son had similar inability to absorb nutrients as I had with celiac disease. The parasite which lives in the small intestine, was giardia. A stool test can be done to look for these. Dee
  7. I think you are on the right track and do hope it works out for you and your daughter. Please do get the tests Nicole recommended as those symptoms are not normal. There must be a reason for them.
  8. I had an extremely difficult time finding a multi-vitamin with no corn and gluten along with my other intolerances. I am currently using Ultra Nutrients marketed online from a company based in Sweetwater, Texas and it is working for me!
  9. Wow! This is tough. Have you explored other intolerances? It sounds like your lymph system may be very busy. I have swelling in my thighs from that. Exercise (like your walking should help)! Have you checked your medications for gluten? I see now that your body made sure of that one! I would ask for all test results and study out the meaning of them...
  10. People with celiac can get very sick. There are over 300 symptoms. When a body can't absorb enough food anything and EVERYTHING is bound to go round. My Dad saw Jennifer Exposito on television and marveled to me that she got very ill with that disease. She collapsed on stage and lost a tooth! This was no surprise to me one symptom of my trouble was a diving...
  11. Hang in there. Many of our families didn't believe us, but they changed their mind over time. Dee
  12. Extreme fatigue and mind fog were my most prominent symptom. I also had low D, anemia, low ferritin. I am glad you are getting to the bottom of it!
  13. Welcome Noobet, Resolution of canker sores could certainly be one evidence of the diet working. Perhaps you could find more changes if you recall them from early gluten free days. Maybe you could take a list to the GI doctor if you looked at the 300 symptom list. Your doctor seems to be up on things, not too many know that you would be falsely negative...
  14. Went away early: plantar fasheitis pain. That got worse at 1 week gluten free. Than it went away and stayed away for two years so far.
  15. I have uterine fibroid, ovarian cyst, and a cyst on my breast. All of these my functional medicine nurse have to do with a hormonal imbalance in my case too much estrogen and to little progesterone over the years. You might check into a hormonal imbalance of this kind. The functional medicine nurse used saliva tests while the MD used blood tests to check...
  16. Kitchen Aid mixers aren't that tough for large families. I got told not to put more than a few cups of flour in at a time! I did work with whole grain gluten bread at the time. I ended up with a commercial Viking machine that held for several years. Now, I have had it in a cupboard so long that I would be tempted to give it to you! I have been using...
  17. I have an essential oil reference book. The title is Reference Guide For Essential Oils it is compiled by Connie and Alan Higley. In this book one can look up back pain. There are specific recommendations for various back ailments. The main oils listed are combinations of oils. PanAway blend contains Wintergreen, Helichrysum, clove, peppermint. My book...
  18. . I use ice, heat and essential oils as my first line of defense for many ailments. Peppermint essential oil can numb the pain of a toothache or mouth pain. For tummy cramps I like to rub in essential oil and use a hot water bottle. If you have plantar fasheitis (pain in your heal), I think mild exercise and then 20 minutes of icing it really helps....
  19. I use to fall asleep between words on a spelling test. I got better as my nutrient levels came up. Dee
  20. Congratulations and enjoy! Dee
  21. I might not have been dead YET, but my life sure got hard before diagnosis. Dee
  22. . I think maybe my tongue swells up. I also bite the inside of my cheeks. I think this causes me to talk with difficulty and I have begun to suspect these are linked with my gluten/other intolerance problems. Dee
  23. I had my blood glutamine levels checked. They were normal about 18 months into the healing process. However, that didn't tell me how much a person healing from celiac would need, or whether my body cells were getting the nutrients from the blood. I also did not have a base test before the diet began.
  24. One must analyze, (as you showed you did) I wouldn't use a product again that I suspected. Then one must give themselves time to heal. It can be a rough trip for awhile, but when you head in the right direction, you are bound to get somewhere! Best wishes for healing. Dee
  25. My functional medicine nurse recommends L-glutamine to help heal the gut. I have a friend that marvels over how much better she felt when she started L-glutamine. I took it late in my process and didn't notice much difference. I did have an endoscopy that showed my intestine is in good shape. I am using Thorne brand powder which seems to be free of my...
