  1. "I've felt bad for so long...not horribly bad, just not like me." It can be big changes at first. Yet, when there is success, you will not feel so bad anymore! It is worth it, take some steps and begin your journey. Welcome to the forum. D
  2. I have been told it might be helpful for me, but is expensive. My physician and I are trying to do without it. D
  3. You may have to try cutting back on the beans and see if it helps. I believe that beans are rather known to be hard to digest. You could also look into whether beans/fiber may interfere with uptake of potassium. A bite of parsley or small amounts of celery can help raise the potassium levels(I think) and energy, at least if your body responds to them as...
  4. I know you thought you may have cracked the case of the white tongue, and perhaps you have. However, I just wanted to say that my son had a white tongue when he had a yeast infection. You can also get a rash with yeast infection, I had one as I detoxed. Have you been on antibiotics and are you taking a probiotic? Have you checked your medicine for...
  5. That is good news. I have a heartfelt love for the Korean people. I wish you well. I heard that celiac was very unusual in Asia. My girls said there wasn't a lot of wheat there. D
  6. I described the feeling as how one feels when they are extremely tired. Only I had it all of the time. I didn't realize it until it cleared one day! Now I wonder if people usually feel foggy when they are extremely tired, or if I just did because I had celiac. Sure wish I never had to make decisions while having brain fog symptoms. I am so glad...
  7. Did measuring the belly work? Mine once increased 9 inches over night after eating pizza! I haven't eaten it since. Usually, mine does increase in size during the day. When I try to measure the belly, I usually don't see much of a difference. I am wondering how taking a picture would be? Stand in front of a grid maybe to see better?
  8. Mamabear Deals 88 Dani-Nero (Hey we saw her recently!) BeachBirdie Maggie Simpson The guy writing for his sick wife. She was having trouble eating anything at all last thing. Sorry, I just can't come up with a name. Mushroom (We know, she died.) There are many others does anyone know anything about these missing persons? I wish them all well...
  9. First I will quote and get information from Prescription for Nutritional Healing by James F. Balch, MD and Phyllis A. Balch CNC: "A deficiency of magnesium interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses, causing irritability and nervousness." ... "Possible manifestations of magnesium deficiency include confusion, insomnia, irritability...
  10. Yes, I have experienced low magnesium. I had the shakes (mildly) for as long as I could remember (elementary school) these went away when I began a magnesium supplement. I have been told that the villi in the small intestine are damaged, so they are less able to absorb food. D
  11. Between the Bridges in Mankato has been helping me. I think the doc there had practiced at the Mayo clinic, but has moved on. I have heard of someone else who went to the Mayo clinic and they were really helpful. I hope you will get the help you need wherever it is. D
  12. My withdrawal symptoms included mostly: Fogginess Fatigue bloating The same as my symptoms when I ate gluten. If anything it seemed more intense in withdrawal. Since, I had similar symptoms, it got so confusing.
  13. Super-Sensitive viewpoint: Hopefully, you don't have to go to this extreme! OH, I hope you were not 30 years from undeniable symptoms as I was with a similar amount of damage. I always hoped I had some kind of meter to gage just what my reactions are. You see I have had many reactions and could not tell when gluten withdrawal ended and accidental contaminations...
  14. I hope that will work for you. When I could eat rice, I use to make my own. If anyone is interested I found a recipe here. Open Original Shared Link
  15. Sorry, that you are having to deal with celiac disease. Yet, I am hopeful that he will be on the mend soon. Usually it is overwhelming at first , you can only take one step at a time, keep going. I am glad for him to be diagnosed while young. You can raise him to be strong and healthy. D
  16. 30 years of undeniable symptoms and super-sensitive viewpoint: I was in the same boat after about two months gluten free; I tried grain free and struggled for another 3 months. You don't have to know everything at once, but as you walk on, you should be getting somewhere. Some of my hardest days were followed by my highest. I am now a year into grain...
  17. People use to think I was making this stuff up. Some still do. However, now they often note my"red face" shortly before I start noting my other symptoms. I have rashes at times which are very visable. I spent an evening in a hotel bathroom 5 ft from the nearest family member. Somehow, it doesn't seem to be as hard to convince them. If I was doing...
  18. Being a farmer, I know that chickens are more inclined to eat grain and turkeys like to eat bugs and grass and very little grain. Our poultry eat wheat! . Ours are also on pasture of grass and clover which they like. I stay away from their feed. I rinse them well in cold water before eating I tried not eating chicken for a while and have been fine...
  19. Sigh, Do you think it is possible you are having random withdrawal symptoms? In the beginning of my diet experience, I couldn't always figure it out. Also, after l year sometimes I really can't be sure what I am reacting to. Are there any scratches in the metal of the crock pot? One other consideration, Could you have intolerances to another...
  20. I have been using mango sauce for homemade pizza. I use eggs instead of cheese also. I hadn't had pizza in years, it's great. I wash and scrub all nuts before eating. I think it is going okay. D
  21. If you have been eating gluten normally, now would be the time to get blood tests. The final test is the diet and response to it. Can someone please post the list of tests, so he can figure out what tests he needs. Tests for antibodies for gluten Tests to see what nutrients are low. I hope you will soon be on the mend. You have suffered long and...
  22. Fatigue and brain fog are my most troubling symptoms.
  23. I make baked goods with ground nuts. Almonds are a particular favorite. My family even likes them. I try to vary what I use daily, though. My physicians assure me that not many have a problem with rice. We don't know for sure that I do, but when I quit eating it, I had a similar withdrawal as with gluten. I am planning to try rice. One thought...
  24. I hope you get your answer, and I am revisiting this subject in attempts to answer it myself right at this time. I will try to relay it when I do. D.
  25. I still think about every health problem I hear about is due to celiac. I am about l year gluten free. People told me the above stuff as above when my family didn't really seem to get it. I now have it from experience. After one year, two daughters were tested, and the tests were negative. They are being gluten aware as they go on with their lives....
