  1. Awwww, thanks!!! Fudgie contest.... BRING IT ON!!! LOL!! There are so many people on this board that have helped me tremendously. Without this site I think I'd be eating dirt and worms. Worms are gluten free right? There are so many people that deserve gold stars. I think I need to give a special one to Canadian Karen. She has such an amazing...
  2. I'm so sorry to hear you were glutened. Did you atleast get to go to Risotteria while you were here?

    ARCHIVED Lumi

YAY!!! I'm so glad you finally got to try Lumi and loved it as much as I do. I agree, they are soooo incredibly nice there. I can't remember the managers name, I want to say it's something with a V, but yes he is super sweet. Everytime I eat there I definately feel very well taken care. It's such a warm, comforting atmosphere; and ofcourse the food is incredible...
  4. These are awesome! The first time I bought them I decided to try one on in the car as I was driving home. Big mistake! I finished 3/4 of the box before I got home. It was only a 20 minute drive. Whoops!
  5. There stuff is amazing! I love using their french bread to bake garlic bread. Yummy!!!! Infact, I think I'm gonna go make some now. I have a loaf of their french bread in my freezer. I tried their pizza at a vendor fair a few months back and it was incredible. Even my husband who is a very picky pizza eater, loves it. We both grew up in and still...
  6. I've made cupcakes from the Namaste chocolate cake mix, and keep them sealed in one of those tupperware type things you use to transport cakes. A week later and they are still perfectly soft and fresh tasting.
  7. I am 29 and also showed that I had osteopenia a couple months ago when my doctor sent me for bone density tests. I've heard it can be a serious problem, but she told me to take calcium with vitamin D 3x a day. I have trouble remembering 3x a day, but I try and take it atleast twice. I guess I don't really have that much info except to say, I know how you...
  8. If I remember correctly I think I remember him mentioning once that he lives downtown, which is no where near where the plane hit. A lot of my friends live on the UES, and I don't think any other buildings besides the one the plane crashed into, were affected. I'm sure he's fine, but please update us when you hear from him.
  9. I've posted about the bagels from Joan's gluten-free Great Bakes and how incredible they are. I thought the Glutino ones were ok, but this just doesn't even compare. It tastes like a real bagel, not a Lender's frozen bagel. She is now shipping them to the NY tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT). She also has some mixes on there for muffins/breads. And some chocolate...
  10. I don't know how helpful this will be but maybe try ordering the Triumph Dining cards. They have a card that is in Chinese (english on the front, chinese on the back) and although I don't know if it's Mandarin Chinese I'm sure you could call and ask. Maybe showing them that and letting them read it would help. Open Original Shared Link
  11. This recipe is great. Junior's was my favorite cheesecake pre-gluten free. Instead of making the spongecake bottom, I took Midel gluten-free ginger snaps, some pecans and melted a little butter. I used that for a crust/bottom instead. Open Original Shared Link
  12. I've gotten the Tinkyada jumbo shells (and lasagna noodles) many times. I either get them at Whole Foods or Mrs. Greens.
  13. I make my own breadcrumbs. I take gluten free bread, leave it out to get hard, crumbly it up in a food processor. Then I had some salt, garlic and oregano, mix it up and voila! breadcrumbs. Then for the meatballs I just take chopped meat, salt, pepper, garlic, eggs and add in my bread crumbs. I usually pour some pasta sauce over them and let them sit...
  14. You'll find all that and more here. Here's a big giant <HUG> to welcome you!
  15. I'll start. The NYC Subway. I decided to run to Bloomies after work today, got on the 6 train (which was more crowded than ever for some reason), and all of a sudden started to feel the effects of being glutened. All I kept thinking is, if this subway gets delayed for any reason, I'm going to die. Needless to say, I spent my time at Bloomies in the...
  16. HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN!!
  17. I hope the cashier doesn't think it's weird when I buy an entire case of egg noodles come Passover. Hineini - gluten-free Honey cake? I would love the recipe!
  18. WOW!!! I can't wait to try this. I miss matzo balls.
  19. Yeah we love Noda's!! It was one of our favorite places before being diagnosed and I was so happy to figure out a way to continue going there. Good luck for you boyfriends birthday. Let me know how it goes.
  20. ***SOB*** Well atleast now we know. Thanks for contacting them.
  21. I always assumed these were unsafe, but in a recent thread some people were saying these were ok while others where saying they don't think they're ok. I used to love these and would be so happy if I could get one with my tea again. Does anyone know for sure whether these are safe?
  22. Hi, Great idea but be prepared to spend a lot of money. I'm drawing a blank, but right now all I can think of is The Millenium, and I think possibly the Marriott Marquis and W Times Square. Sadly I've lived in NY my whole life and only been to the parade once. But it was great. We actually watched from my friends office and we were eye level with the...
