  1. Patty, Put in Molly for the first name and Duncan Stone for the last and it should work. Good Luck. I forgot to mention - did you click on Molly's link on the first page?
  2. I am glad that the tests came out fine. And I also understand the depression you are feeling right now. We have all been there and will probably go there again in the future. Don't feel guilty about it. What I used to do when I got depressed is that I set a time limit of 2 or 3 hours. I would wallow in the self pity and when the time was up, I got on...
  3. Tiffany, if I had the energy to donate my time, I would work at a women's shelter. But, since I am unable to even get all my personal things done in the home, the donation is the best I can do. I understand your feelings about the donations, but I donate directly to a Celiac foundation and I just thought this was more personal, as I, in cyberspace, knew...
  4. What a wonderful caring store owner. Too bad, more aren't like him.
  5. Tiffany, where is your link for your walk donations? I don't want to leave anyone out.
  6. I tasted New Grist (thank you silent member for giving me a bottle). And I find that it tastes like real beer. I have already called the manager of Henry's Market (Wild Oats) and he is going to call Lakefront. He asked many of his gluten free customers about beer and they all wanted some. So, I am sure it will take a little time, but we will get it in...
  7. As long as you bought pure canola oil, you are fine. I use pure canola oil all the time. Enjoy the fries.
  8. I agree with Peggy. Just make sure that they take the biopsy next to an eruption - not in the eruption.
  9. 15 months ago I went to PF Changs and ordered EVERY gluten filled appetiser they had on the menu. A couple of them I made into double orders. It was really OINK OINK time. I still think of those appetisers. Not a lettuce wrap among them.
  10. I am so sorry that this jerk treated you this way. He is wrong about a false positive. You can have a false negative, but not a false positive. If it is positive you have Celiac. I personally would get a book and go back to the first doctor. There is a new book out called "Living Gluten-Free for Dummies". Not that your dumb, but it simplifies the starting...
  11. Lauren and Molly - I know you will both do great in your walks. And thank you for doing this for all of the Celiacs. Hugs
  12. I am also allergic to wheat and have diagnosed Celiac. I have had the pin prick test for allergies and my GP also did a blood test for the major allergens.
  13. Since I have been gluten-free for over two years (except for 2 testing instances), I have found that within 3 to 4 bites I know I have ingested gluten. Cross contamination takes a little longer for me and I feel sick in 20 minutes.
  14. I understand why you are thinking the way you are. After a year of gluten-free I thought I could cheat and have a meal full of gluten. So I went to Pf Changs and ordered every gluten filled appetiser they had. Believe it or not I had no reaction and so 2 weeks later I had a different gluten filled meal. Boy did I react. I no longer test myself. All...
  15. If you wish a frim diagnosis of Celiac or gluten intolerance, then you must be eating gluten. You can get a false negative by not having enough time of eating gluten. They do a panel of 5 blood tests to rule in Celiac and also the biopsy. With the biopsy they must take samples from 8 to 10 areas. And even then they can miss the damaged area. Good luck...
  16. Yes, being gluten-free for two weeks could give you a false negative. I really don't know how long you have to be on gluten to be tested. Because you have only been gluten-free for two weeks, maybe the time frame is not 3 months in your case. I am sure that someone more knowledgable then I am will post the proper time frame. Good Luck.
  17. Yes, their sausage (in meat case) is gluten free. I buy their Brats. I only buy the Brats every few months. I go and get 6 pkgs. of 6 each and freeze them. I buy nothing else there anymore as I prefere Henry's Market as they are so friendly and try to get me whatever I need.
  18. Two years ago when I called, they told me Advil gelcaps were gluten free, but not the tablets. I still take the gelcaps and I don't know if they have now made the tablets gluten-free.
  19. I just picked up my new mouth piece today and can't wait to wear it tonight. It really relaxes the jaw muscles for me. Mine fits over the top teeth and I find that more comfortable.
  20. When we go out to dinner with friends and even friends with their friends, I give them a choice of MY restaurants and no one has had a problem with that. If they want pizza we go to a gluten-free pizza place. If they want Chinese we go to PF Changs. Same with Italian or whatever. I control where we eat. Either they want our company or they don't. I...
  21. I had the pneumonia vaccine in 1997 and two weeks later I was hospitalized with pneumonia. Twenty eight months later I was hospitalized with a rare pneumonia and landed in intensive care, then cardiac iintensive care, then lung surgery. Two weeks all told and I remember very little as they kept me really drugged up. I had four different teams of doctors...
  22. It was so slow last night that I thought it was my computer. This morning I defraged, did Virus checking etc. Then this afternoon I got the same error message. Glad our "life blood" is back.
  23. I hope more people post on this subject. I have been taking L-Glutamine for some time - just as a preventive major, in case of accidental cross contamination. I only take one pill in the morning. I am wondering if my energy levels started dropping around the same time I started taking it. Three months after I started it, I started having constipation...
  24. I thought that I read in Dangerous Grains that people should be retested every two years. But, in my opinion, when it comes to children, I would have them retested every year. Just as flagbabybds said. That way if they develop Celiac or gluten intolerance, you will have caught it in time, before all the damage can set in.
  25. Someone on another thread mentioned that hard cheddar goat cheese was casein free and so Henry's Market ordered some and I bought 3 bricks of it. Two days ago, I was to lazy to fix lunch. Got out my gluten-free crackers, Hillshire Farm lean sliced ham and plenty of goat cheese. I certainly gave it an unbelievable test . I never wheezed once. And it...
