  1. Just an FYI....I was severely reacting to corn at one point and just wanted to share this info.
  2. Bev, I have been tested for EVERYTHING. . multiple endos, colonoscopies, barium swallows, ultrasounds, HIDA gallbladder scan, celiac blood panel, gene tested, bloodwork out the wazoo, more urine and stool samples than I care to count, bacterial overgrowth, ... etc. Remember? I had the "best"---NIH and Johns Hopkins, after much of the above testing done in...
  3. Lisa, Somehow I missed this thread. Just read it and laughed out loud. We only fuss because we love you...but happy we didn't have to fuss! I'm just happy you figured it out. Are you still taking probiotics? xoxo
  4. thanks, ladies! The even better part was that I didn't get sick....you all know how ridiculously sensitive I am!
  5. Welcome to the great state of VA Happy to see you back on here, Vincent.
  6. I'll post more, and upload pictures later... but I shook hands and talked to Charlie Gibson, Shephard Smith, Chris Wallace, and Andrea Mitchell. Andrea even told me she loved my dress and Charlie and Shephard both said I was very sweet to come talk to them We had lots of other sightings....Tim Russert, Brit Hume, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Olympia...
  7. Dr. Mark Pimentel in CA has done some work on this. I think he is def onto something, but his studies have been flawed. However, it is an overlooked reason for IBS symptoms. I have the book on it, in case anyone wants it. I was tested for it last year .... of course, negative.
  8. happy dog suz, get him the book in my signature, and see then if he thinks its all in your head.
  9. I agree with Chrissy about eating gluten before further testing. Plus, it is important to be able to rule out other problems that might be there (either instead of a gluten problem, or concurrently). IgG food intolerance (delayed allergy) testing is commonly used, even among the big lab companies.
  10. No, I'm talking about a separate list of companies that state they will list gluten, RG. I purposefully DON'T use lists of products, generally, unless its on a company's website, etc. This list has circulated on the board, and people have updated and added to it, and it is really helpful. Some of the companies I have contacted myself, to verify, and...
  11. I would recommend having her full Celiac blood panel re-run to make sure that her Celiac levels are not high, to rule out the option that she could still have some gluten that is casuing her problems.
  12. Considering its an antigliadin (the problematic part of gluten) IgG, I would say probably not. Lactose is a different problem....when the body doesn't have enough lactase, which is the enzyme that breaks down lactose. (Lactaid isn't a drug, but extra enzymes to help break down lactose). Many people with undx'ed Celiac (or unhealed celiac disease) have...
  13. Plus, the only mfs source that is required to be listed is wheat...so if it does NOT list wheat, then it is safe (per food labeling law).
  14. Gazza, Just wanted to welcome you to the board and to the gluten free diet! I encourage you to read and ask lots of questions. Let us know what we can do to help! Laura
  15. Check out the book listed in my signature. It will encourage you to stick to the diet 100%. You can't be wishy-washy. Tinkyada makes a wonderful rice-based pasta that you can use just like any pasta. It is delicious.
  16. Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday, Laurie (sorry!) Laura
  17. I dont know of any black beans (or any beans for that matter) that aren't gluten free. If they were in some sort of particular sauce, maybe. But beans that are in a can, and its usually in a salt/water/etc solution...gluten-free.
  18. but, the IgG is use for food intolerances (not just for gluten, which is the AGA, but for many, many other foods that are IgG mediated). So, while not necessarily indicative of Celiac, it can indicate a problem with gluten, nonetheless.
  19. To give you an idea: If I were gluten lite, my life would be a living h$ll. Plus, eight days of even truly 100% gluten free doesn't mean that they will start feeling better right away. They need longer to fully heal and bounce back. On the other hand....it might not be a gluten issue, which means, even if he is fully gluten free for a period...
  20. ks: it might not be enough for a true Celiac diagnosis, but it indicates that your child is reacting to gluten. The good thing about this is that you don't need a diagnosis to go gluten free. The tests and the dietary response are enough to show that this is a problem. If you continue with further testing, yes, your child still needs to continue...
  21. Remi, This is the appropriate forum for it. It just might be that no one has any responses yet....maybe someone will pipe up and help out? Best of luck! laura
  22. Lisa, I am definitely going to try this!!!!! Thanks for sharing. xoxo
  23. My personal method, for what its worth. I don't trust lists. I keep two things in mind when I purchase products: 1. There is a list of companies that clearly states it will list any gluten source, and will not hide them in natural/artificial flavors, mfs, etc. I keep that list with me. The list covers A LOT of products, because so many smaller...
  24. have you tried whole foods pizza crust? I made pizza and took it with me this past weekend when we went out to dinner with friends.
  25. the dinner is Wednesday night....xoxo
