  1. I am emailing it right now - Have fun! Gina
  2. Oh my gosh, I am so sorry you have to go through that! That is absolutely horrible. I am hoping for you and your child's sake that that is not the "norm" and that he doesn't always talk to you like that. However, I know it does happen, and if you need to talk, please feel free to pm me. Take care. Gina
  3. Plain balsamic vinegar is gluten free...and quite tasty.

    ARCHIVED Poll

We only eat out on special occassions like birthdays. And then it's only Outback and PF Changs that I am confident in. I've had too many mishaps. Definitely not worth the risk. But I do miss it sometimes!
  5. So I'm going to be in Hanover, MD for 4 long days next month and I'm stressed about not being able to find a place to eat! I know there are lots of places in nearby Baltimore. But I'm not going to be able to stray that far from my work - It's management training, and I don't want to already be problematic! Anyone know of any places? I'll be staying...
  6. I think I'm going to cry. (not sure why- I guess I was moved by the recognition) Thanks for pointing this clip out! Gina
  7. Now THAT sounds good - I'm breaking out the blender tonight!!
  8. My favorite is the mojito. In fact we have them every Monday. It's just rum, club soda, lime, sugar, and mint. Outback has some gluten-free mixed drinks on their menu. My favorite there is the No Bull Kiwirita (Margarita made with red bull!)

    ARCHIVED Fasting

I have many times taken a week or 2 at a time and eaten nothing but fresh veggies - with nothing added to them. It always seems to give my metabolism a jump start and perks me up out of a slump. Anything less than that makes me light headed.
  10. I saw the one where they checked out a castle in Scottland. And that freaked me out! I would watch it more, but we don't get that channel in clearly. My dad recorded some freaky sounds in our old house where stuff used to happen. He left the recorder on when no one was home. You could hear all sorts of things (so they said). I refused to listen. Too...
  11. We did a Disney Cruise last year, and it was heaven. They assigned a waiter and chef to us that would either guide us through our choices or, if needed, would go and fix us something special. I wish every place was that easy!
  12. I hate it when kids feel left out. One of my son's teachers was really good about the class treat thing. She actually assigned each child in advance the day that they could bring in birthday treats. That way I had it on my calendar far in advance. Then she asked the moms what she was bringing and let me know so I could send in something similar. If the...
  13. Mushrooms and feta cheese!!!! Dang it. Now I'm hungry. Again.
  14. Listerine is gluten free. Icee has a website, icee.com, where it lists ingredients for all flavors. They are also gluten-free.
  15. Skittles (except mint flavors), Starbursts, and Sunkists fruit gems are all gluten free.
  16. You sound like one of us. I was sick for over 10 years and had 2 miscarriages before I found out what was wrong. Luckily my son did not have to suffer as long. Have you brought this up to your doctor? Unfortunately, they don't usually think of it on their own. Or are you just going to try a diet change to see if that helps you? Best of...
  17. Grist beer is pretty good and fairly easy to find (dist. out of Wis.) but I think Redbridge is better. Rampona Valley out of NY also has a gluten-free beer that tastes like a honey lager.
  18. I am afraid of peanutbutter cups. When I called about them originally (which was quite some time ago) the csr told me that it depended on the size of the peanutbutter cup -
  19. Thanks! I will have to look for these.
  20. That's the one! Thanks. I used that mix and it turned out great.
  21. Bette Hagman's flour is a combination of rice flour, tapioca starch, and potato starch, but I forget the amounts of each. It's in my cookbook at home. Does somebody else out there have it to post? If not, I'll post it when I get home. Gina
  22. I made a Swedish Apple pie yesterday. I got the recipe off allrecipes.com. In place of the flour, I just used Bette Hagman's all purpose flour mix. No rolling required. It was like having cake and pie at the same time! Everyone in my house liked it.
  23. Good point - they make my kids look like angels!
  24. Hi Robin: I'm not sure what you are eating right now, but I read a thread yesterday that a celiac couldn't take off weight, but then realized she was eating all corn and rice and potatoes. That will pack the weight on. Perhaps sticking with just the basics of lean meats, fresh veggies, and fresh fruit. Gina
  25. Welcome to the board! "Lurking" sounds so naughty I prefer the term "learning." I'm sure the board will be very beneficial to you. Glad you are here. Gina
