  2. If you call MAC, they have a list of products containing gluten. Good luck
  3. I've tried Ore Ida oven bake fries and gotten sick 2x....ingredient list looked fine - but no luck. Moving on to try McCains.
  4. LOL!!! Try teaching in a room full of seventh graders all day!!! I admit, sometimes I just let them go and watch the kids wonder who smelled up the place ...Worst part? My classroom doesn't even have a window for ventilation!!!! Unfortunately in this field "free time" to leisurely go to the restroom is at a premium.....If I can make it...
  5. I think they're linked with Enjoylife? LOVE the applecinnamon. I was SO missing cereal with taste!!! They're a great grab and go breakfast - dry.
  6. I've gone to Don Pablo's several times since I've gone gluten-free. They had menu items listed on-line. I've talked to the manager a couple of times while I was there. He asked very good questions and made me feel very comfortable -- giving recommendations, etc. -- however, I have had symptoms after every visit. I guess I got cross-contaminated from something...

  8. At this time of year, Meal Mart (part of Alle processing corp.) has frozen meals for Passover. They are available for a short time. The company has informed me that they are gluten-free. I found them at my local Acme. A contact # for the company is 718-894-2000, and they have a website if you google them. I emailed customer service and received a really...
  9. OMG! Too funny (in a sad sort of way) LOL What is it about temperature? At Applebee's they assured me that anything cooked on their grille would be fine because it reaches 500 degrees. Didn't know gluten could be killed by heat!!! We have been laughing about that one for a while!
  10. Yum!!! Found Pacific's Creamy Tomato Soup at Wegman's. Labeled gluten-free. Heated up easy in microwave, added some Dr. Schars Pizzirilli crackers, and it was TERRIFIC COMFORT FOOD for dinner!! WOW!!!! Also have gravies and broths that are gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link Happy, happy day.
  11. I recommend Woodchuck Amber ... hard cider....yum.
  12. Visited Ikea, today. YUM!! Three varieties of the torte -- chocolate, caramel(more like toffee), and almond. All free of gluten. Guy behind the counter showed me the box so I could read the ingredients and saw website almondy.com I haven't checked it out yet. Also box indicated they were connected w/ Kraft foods. Very yummy, I thought a small...
  13. Judyinphilly -- what are your plans for May? I'm in Bucks County -- participate in greater phila. celiac group, but they only meet 2X per year. Would love to know what you are thinking of.
  14. Are you going to the group at Abington Hospital in Willow Grove? If you are, make sure you buy out whatever the Grainless Baker brings with him. It's SO good. His carrot cake is AMAZING. and pizza crusts are good too (Italian thin crust) Haven't tried Mr. Ritts yet. Glad you asked. I'll be interested to see what people mention.
  15. I just saw mini-eggs in the store. I LOVE THEM, and I wasn't sure if they were gluten-free. I'm so excited. I'm going to buy out the store. Also a good thread on friends w/ celiacs on what to put in an easter basket -- check there. I think it says "Daughter's friend has celiac" Jelly Belly's -- fruit bowl assortment -- yummy and gluten-free M...
  16. Last week I saw someone mention MAC lipstick as a potential source of being gluten-ed!! I suspect that this is the missing link I have been trying to figure out. I wear viva glam (#5, I think). I emailed MAC after I read the post, but I haven't heard back from them. Anyone know anything? Thanks!
  17. I love this thread - I've been laughing as I read all four pages!!! Thank you! So many people think it's gross, and swear they won't try it, but once they do they LOVE it: Chocolate Covered Potato Chips (ones with ridges are strong enough to hold the choc.) YUM!!!! I love vanilla icecream with berry jam on it. tunafish w/ mayo on potato chips...
  18. I'm in Philly and used to be in Winchester. Hope you like it. It's probably going to be a change of pace. Great bar/restaurant in the pedestrian mall downtown with amazing tin ceiling. You'll love it. Enjoy and Good luck.
  19. The majority of Jelly Belly flavors are gluten-free -- (not the buttered toast flavor)...We buy the fruit bowl selection. They're gluten-free and yummy!! I believe snickers and butterfingers are ok. Tootsie Roll Pops and Tootsie Rolls Laffy Taffy
  20. Thanks so much for posting this! I have been waking up in the night drenched -- something I never noticed before diagnosis......haven't thought to link it to being "glutened".......I will definitely investigate.
  21. Already recruiting friends to try it out this weekend at Oxford Valley. Thanks so much for the info. Anytime my fiance craves burgers we go to Cheeburger, Cheeburger and I "design" my own salad........ This will give us another option. Great!
  22. I make chicken salad and eat it on tortilla chips. Pretty good. Also do a lot of fruit and cheese for quick lunches. Sometimes I buy Dr. Schar's pizzarelli crackers and eat with a spag. sauce OR I buy wheat free crackers and Dietz and Watson deli meat to make pseudo-sandwiches.
  23. How do you reheat the Tinkyada without it being gross? Every time I've tried it backfires. I teach and having leftovers for lunch everyday would be great. Also, if you're looking for quick Amy's Organic has rice pasta mac and cheese...it's really really cheesy, but good in a pinch when I need comfort.
  24. I'd love to do something like this - what a great idea. Teaching, though, limits me to summer travel....
  25. Thanks for the input. I'll check RC out. If anyone else has good/bad gluten-free experiences cruising, I would appreciate it. We're really looking forward to it, and the less I have to think about food, the better!!!!
