  1. Last night I made a roasted pork sirloin with an herb spice rub recipe I got off of allrecipes.com. Served with brown rice and broccoli. I'll be eating it again for a few days.
  2. I can relate to the anxiety of missing workouts. Continue on with testing. My experience was I scaled back my workouts after my diagnosis and did a 5x5 training style for weight lifting and low intensity steady state cardio (if any was done) in the form of walking my dog. You'll see more gains/build more muscle when you are doing a strength program. If you...
  3. Well I am happy to say that after 3 months of weekly ketoconazole my micropapules are all gone! I still get some of the deeper cystic acne but overall I'm very pleased with the treatment. I have started a monthly facial regime with a great esthetician in town so with her care and guidance I am hoping to have some clear skin!
  4. I made an on the fly chili last night with 3 chicken breasts, keilbasa sausage, black beans, kidney beans, onions, roasted red peppers, jalapenos, rotel tomatoes and corn. I used a homemade chili seasoning. Turned out so great!
  5. Yeah.. I seem to have the same fate with eggs as you. I can eat them when "mixed and diluted out" in baked goods. But I used to eat egg whites every morning and I love a good fried egg. *sigh*
  6. Thanks to everyone who has posted here. I took some time away to figure out the never-ending saga of GI issues and coping with that. I figured out I am egg intolerant (sucks). I am still at a plateau with my weight however I am not stressing over it as much. I bought a spin bike for home use because I love spin and wanted to have access for cardio at any...
  7. Been sticking with grilled chicken, rice/potatoes and veggies lately. However I did make a pretty fantastic lasagna a few weeks ago. But the cheese proved to be too much for my poor GI to handle. I am very dairy light these days. Figured out I have an egg intolerance which makes me sad... but at least I don't have crazy GI issues from it anymore.
  8. It's not the same as a knee replacement but I have had three surgeries on my right knee due to a sudden patella fracture. My physical therapy post-op and scar are remarkably similar to a TKR. I have had many people ask me why I've had my knee replaced at such a young age. Alas, I know I'll need one later in life because of the damage to the kneecap, cartilage...
  9. Hi Chrissie - and welcome. I find that many people really don't understand the severity of the strict gluten free guidelines for managing this disease. Education is key. Some people may never care enough to understand.
  10. hemp protein pancakes?
  11. Wow! That explains how crummy you were feeling. Glad you are on a journey to heal.
  12. I don't have any grand plans for dinner.. chicken, broccoli and potatoes. May swap out broccoli for asparagus. Who knows! TGIF!
  13. I will preface this by saying: Yes, I understand that the size I am at is ideal for many people. I am not asking anyone to critique my choice. I am a body builder so please bear with me.. this is not your typical goal. I want someone to see if I'm being unreasonable with the demands I'm putting up on my body... here we go.. I work out 5 days a week: I...
  14. Don't add the xanthan and just sub the flour. You probably will have good success!
  15. Yay! I have yet to venture out to eat at any of the places mentioned but I now have a chipotle where I live so it's on my list!
  16. Dinner tonight is going to be boneless ribeye with a baked potato and broccoli. I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't ate red meat in well -- too long!
  17. Very interesting article regarding structure and diagnostics and potential therapeutics.
  18. Saturday evening I had a small dinner party. I decided I was going to make Indian food. I have only ever made 1 curry in my life. So it was a bit ambitious. My menu was: gluten free naan, chicken tikka masala, tofu tikka masala (vegetarian guest), basmati rice, and Hari's suicide potatoes (recipe from celiac.com). The naan was FABULOUS! I used the new flour...
  19. your button and mine! I'm gonna have to buy bigger pants after this.
  20. hahaha!! I love it! I am going to be making donuts for a good while.. I am obsessed! Bake time of 10 minutes??!! The mix to mouth time is just so short! LOVE!
  21. Are you going to add egg to it? (isn't there egg in mayonnaise?) I've subbed greek yogurt in for sour cream before but never mayo.
  22. I can gain weight by eating them.. I confess I ate one last night and one and a half today... extra time on the bike tonight!
  23. I am so excited for you!!! I am saving up for a BlendTec myself!
  24. The donuts were made using the recipe from this website: http://freeeatsfood.com/2012/02/06/chocolate-doughnuts-with-butterscotch-glaze-and-salted-almonds/ The glaze was a honey/powdered sugar glaze and then I added a tbsp of cocoa powder to get the chocolate glaze. The flour I used in the recipe was a new flour I have never used before.. it was given to...
