    I personally don't like Chebe, but I think I'm in the minority! I even bought the frozen buns, b/c I couldn't possibly mess them up. I still didn't like the texture....too hard on the outside, and not quite done on the inside.

    I know everyone else has said this, but yes....stick to your guns! It would be ideal to have your husband's support, and hopefully he will come around. My husband is a great father, but even he admits that he doesn't know the kids as well as I do. They don't call it mother's intuition for nothing.     That's great that you found a supportive doctor! We have finally found a very informed doctor as well, which is a refreshing change. There are good ones out there, it's just that sometimes you have to go through a few duds first, lol.

    I think it is a very personal decision to make, and one that is difficult. I know most doctors would recommend to keep kids on gluten until you get a positive dx. This is their job, to make a dx. I understand this completely, and coming from a healthcare field myself, it makes sense. But, after my daughter received a positive dx, the plan didn't change...

    I've often felt like my kids' immune systems are still a bit overactive. My dd, who was the sickest, caught every bug the first three months on the diet.     My daughter tends to run a fever when glutened...the highest was 103. It must not be too unheard of, and it kind of makes sense to me, really. But I'm just a mom, not an MD, lol.

    I just wanted to add that my daughter got sick from the Quaker rice cakes, both the big ones and the minis. This was a while ago, but she definately reacted to them. Now we use Lundberg rice cakes, which are pretty good. So maybe that was the culprit??? Hope he feels better soon!

    I think it's still a little early in the diet to be retesting already. Just my two cents......but I thought you needed a good six months at least before levels could reach normal. If we had tested Emmie that soon after, I'm sure her numbers would have been elevated too, b/c I made quite a few mistakes in the beginning! I would definately recheck everything...

    I've had the same suspicions with my 2 year old. He was 9 months old when he was hospitalized for Roto......it really did a number on him, we nearly lost him b/c the crappy hospital we took him to couldn't get an IV for 8 hours.     Yep, we saw results that fast too......it is truly one of the best feelings in the world, to see your child become happy again. You don't realize how much you lost until they start to become the children they should have been all along. I will never forget how thrilled we were those first few weeks!     I know how you feel, it can be quite overwhelming. It is really hard being gluten free at preschool, because SO many things revolve around food. The biggest thing I've stressed to Emmie's teachers is just to make sure she washes her hands well before she eats.     Emmie's reactions are bad, but not quite that extreme. Emmie's reactions start about an hour after she's had gluten....last time it was an animal cracker at church. She turns completely white, and then the vomiting starts. This lasts for a few hours, and she'll sleep in between. She doesn't get diarrhea anymore though, thank goodness. After the vomiting...

    I know how you feel. Even though I know it's keeping my kids healthy, it doesn't change the fact that this diet can be a big pain in the rear sometimes.     My dd is developmentally delayed for sure. We had her evaluated through the school system last year, but she only qualified for speech therapy. Her speech was in the 5% range for her age.
