  1. This is kind of off the topic--but it happened in Syracuse And has to do with grapes.... My ex-sister in law once made a "blueberry" pie and brought it to a family dinner. At the time, she was new to the group, so we were all on our best behavior. Anyway, we begin to eat the pie, and crunched into all these little seeds--unexpected because we were...
  2. Better still! We'll go with that then
  3. Oh Tavi, I can relate! I turned 50 in February Once today passes, it really dosen't feel any different than 49 I think it was Julie who said here that 50 is the new 40--hang onto those words....
  4. Hi Rusla--I'm happy to hear that you had a nice holiday, too! That soup sounds good
  5. Last year was my first one gluten-free. I had everyone over here and made the whole meal gluten-free--with the expeption of a basket of "regular" rolls. I bought a fresh turkey, made dressing using gluten-free bread cubes that I dried in the oven. Mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, green beans, homemade cranberry-orange relish, gravy thickened...
  6. This is the approach I'm taking. I haven't tried yoga yet, but I do stretching and excercises at my own pace at home on my Pilates machine. Progress is slow, but I do feel better--especially when I compare to last year. Even 6 months ago.
  7. Hi Celia, I just want to wish you luck tomorrow. I had both procedures done on the same day last year--once you're done with the prep, the rest is easy!
  8. Happy Birthday, Tavi!!
  9. I'm glad that everything went so well and you had a great holiday!

    ARCHIVED Gerd?

Yes--me too. I don't drink juice at all anymore.
  11. Happy Birthday everyone!
  12. Rachel, Wow--after all this time! I think your doctor sounds very sensible, in that he's not jumping right in with the antibiotics--the big guns, so to speak. I like the fact that he is methodicly going after your various issues. In the long run, I feel this is the best approach. This is good that you now have a definate avenue to persue--and...
  13. There's our regal-looking Felix! Sounds like he's relaxing in style, and hopefully doing much better.
  14. My husband and I are both from Syracuse--our families are still there. We used to have family picnics at Keuka Lake years ago--my mom's family also has people in Owego and Auburn. Ravenwood--you're so right about how beautiful it is up there--especially this time of year.
  15. I begin to feel symptoms in about 2 hours. It's worse the next 2 days and then hopefully begins to get better.
  16. Do you have a Whole Foods or a Wegman's grocery store near by? Those are the places I've seen it. I would think that you could also use potato starch to roll out the dough.
  17. I use the Betty Crocker product called "Potato Buds"
  18. I use Potato Buds.
  19. Hi Kathy Ann, I copied rule #2 from the forum rules/guidelines-- Do not promote your own business, Web site or products--even if they offer free services. We're very happy to have you here, though -- feel free to ask any questions you may have or join into the discussions! There is a ton of good information here, and lots of nice people who...
  20. Hi Anne, Can you get some Cream of Rice hot cereal? When I was at my sickest, right before I was diagnosed, that's all I could keep in my system for any amount of time. I would think the meats are too rich for you right now. I hope you get into your doctor as soon as he gets back--and that you get this under control.
  21. Thanks Jestgar--I thought I was losing my mind there for a minute
  22. I have to agree with everyone--try the diet 100%. Even my GI told me that many Celiacs come in there with negative biopsies. The blood tests aren't perfect, either. The best indicator is how you feel.
  23. Thanks It got a little rough there for a while!
