  1. Laura, Best of luck with everything! Moving is always a pain, but you'll get through it and get on with your exciting new job! Remember to pace yourself See you when you get back! Deb--You said a mouthful there!
  2. Yea Steve, Celia's right. That was great! I'm fascinated by what you said about the Immodium. So, it actually helps in other ways than just stopping D? Yesterday, I was trying out a new hair salon--of course, my stomach began to act up just as I was about to leave the house. I popped 2 Immodium caplets, I really think both for the cramping and the...
  3. Well, I went to bed and missed all the makeup talk! My husband actually likes it when I wear makeup--especially eye shadow and mascara. I don't wear it everyday anymore, since I'm home, though. Robbin, I use Bare Escentuals Regular Mascara. It dosen't irritate or anything and it comes in colors. It's not as good, frankly, as some others I used...
  4. Sam's Club. The place is huge--and seems even bigger when you're in a race against time to get to the restroom! This was a while ago, and I must have gotten glutened that morning at breakfast. Gosh, I must have been in that bathroom for 1/2 an hour!
  5. Wow--thanks for letting everyone know. I bought a SS Melitta for my husband a couple years ago at Christmas. He loves it!
  6. I also use Badger Balm
  7. We used to have those every year when I was young. I should make them again--they were good!
  8. Robbin--My husband likes to goof around a lot (understatement) and has done the same thing to me! He'll say in a loud voice: Hey Patti--did you forget your Preparation H? Then I get him back with something like: Thanks, did you remember to pick up your ear wax remover?
  9. I have the same cysts, Tiffany. My doctor mentioned them at a routine checkup a couple years ago. She said that they were very common and no problem. Me, being me, started asking questions! I asked what they were, how I got them, etc. She literally stood there and just looked at me--and then repeated bla bla.. a high percentage of women... bla bla
  10. Who knows what ultimately got them to do it--I just know that a lot of us have writen to every news outlet that we could think of--maybe someone finally listened
  11. Lisa--I feel the same way! After all the letters and emails we have sent over the months, it's just so gratifying to see something like that. I like how the doctor said that when he was in med school, they were taught Celiac was a rare disease! He wasn't all that old, either
  12. Wow! I thought it was very good. They put a lot of info into the few minute segment. Kinda strange seeing it on TV like that....
  13. Oh shoot! Well, maybe the blood test will tell differently.
  14. I always liked the Gingerbread Spice and the Snickerdoodles best
  15. OMG--that is SO true! I have a picture that was taken about 5 months before my dx. I was at a function, so I was dressed up, had makeup on and thought I looked ok. I felt awful, though. Anyway, I came across it recently and scanned it onto the computer. What a difference between that and the picture that was my former avatar. The difference in my face...
  16. Sounds like he covered all the bases right there
  17. I've actually never bought "the protection" I was embarassed enough by the Immodium....
  18. Definately try Tinkyada. It's very good--I can even find it at my local Acme! It's an occasional treat now, due to intolerance, but the spaghetti tastes just like 'regular'.
  19. I always wondered if that worked...guess not
  20. Jerry, Welcome back! Laura is right, though. If you do have it, you are damaging your intestine every time you "get away with" something containing gluten. I'd hate to see you ending up with other food intolerances due to a leaky, damaged gut. It's not a lot of fun!
  21. Oh my gosh!!! I would have been too You guys are so funny But isn't it good to know you're not the only one!
  22. You said it, Laura! And sooner, rather than later would be nice
  23. Isn't that funny! I really think my husband is less embarassed than I am Related story--I used my last 2 emergency Immodiums before I went to the salon. (anxiety in full swing) So, I'm in CVS on the way home buying more. All I could think of was--"this guy probably thinks I have D"!!
  24. I know--like how can they say that????
