  1. Thanks for posting the list, Bev--I really like their lip gloss and lipsticks.
  2. Thanks for sharing! So happy for you--enjoying a beer again
  3. MS--Thats wonderful news! What great people there at your new company. Keep us posted
  4. I verified by phone that Kitchen Bouquet is gluten free. The rep. said it contains a small amount of corn gluten, but there is no wheat in it at all.
  5. That's what I thought this AM when I saw it on the news. At least they are admitting that soy is not the "miracle food" that they always wanted us to believe it was.
  6. My iron plummeted before I was Dx. I was lightheaded literally all the time and would pass out if I stood for too long. I'm sorry that I don't know what your numbers mean--my Dr. only told me that my red cell count went from 11 to 8.5 in 2 months time. After being on the gluten-free diet for 6 months, she did a new round of blood work and my red cell count...
  7. Hi Jackie--Good to know it hasn't changed since the "dark ages" when I was a scout
  8. Tiffany--Take some time to digest the news--I'll PM you later
  9. Pepto is gluten-free, as well as Immodium. I do use Immodium if I have to go out and an having symptoms. It works fast and lasts a while.
  10. Hi Tammy--Could I ask, how do you eat the pumpkin puree? Do you cook it? Thanks
  11. Hi--I wish I had something to offer, but you're drinking water and trying to eat--that's pretty much all I do when I have a gluten reaction. I just wait it out. Try and get some extra rest, if you can. I know that's not much help--hope you get to feeling better soon
  12. I'm not surprised--like we talked about last week--the same thing happened to me. How can they not know that we're waiting nervously and all we ask for is a simple phone call. The doctor dosen't even have to make the call himself--he can read the results and ask a nurse to call. That's who finally gave me the news, a nurse, after 4 attempts by me to talk...
  13. Hi MS--I've been following your story and everybody had such good advice and suggestions that I could't think of anything else to add. I did want to say that I hope things begin to turn around for you. The new job is a great start. I completely understand why you only feel comfortable eating only banana. I had the urgency also before I went gluten-free...
  14. Richard is right--as I posted above, I was a Brownie and then a Girl Scout for years. It was a long time ago, but I still remember all of the good times we had at overnight camp, earning badges (and proudly wearing them), getting involved with things in the community, the fun meetings, etc. As I remember it, and it may be different now, the cookie selling...
  15. Amanda--the potato sounds like a good idea--I'm going to try it. The potato is raw, right?
  16. Yup--Langhorne with an "e"! Gee--if you ever do get back for a visit let me know--
  17. I agree with Smukee--sometimes you have to put things in terms of how it would relate to THEM. Thats what will get their attention. The thoughts like "a little bit can't hurt" and my personal favorite "you're being too picky/careful/obsessive" are an easy way for people to not let another's issues affect them. For your son's sake, I hope they come around...
  18. Yes--we've been to Peddler' Village--not for a few years, though. My younger son, Matt, works in Langhorne--at Reedman-Toll Autoworld. He's a tech, having just completed his first year working there. We live about 30 min. from there. Small world--eh?
  19. Hi Liz--so sorry you are not feeling well . I would chalk it up to a learning experience. Please don't be too hard on yourself--you'll be back on track in no time. I hear ya about the emotional part of the gluten reaction--people just don't "get it" most of the time. That's the part of it for me that takes the longest to go away. I got sick in mid Dec...
  20. I use Bare Escentuals makeup--and have since before I knew about gluten! I just really like it, and was so happy that it was safe. For cleansers and skin care for my face, I use products from MyChelle. They are not cheap, but are made from wonderful ingredients and they do not use gluten in any of their products (I verified that by phone). I get mine...
  21. Jen--where did you live in this area? I live in South Jersey--right over the bridge from Bristol, PA.
  22. This is what is happening to me--I tried cutting out all grains and sugar for 2 weeks and felt better in many ways. I have been adding them back gradually, but even that may be too much because the eczema is back, as well as indigestion and the things you mentioned above. Teeth clenching--me too, and it causes neck and head pain in the AM.
  23. My mom--Antiphospholipid Syndrome--an autoimmune clotting disorder (she has many symptoms of Celiac, including chronic anemia. Neg. blood test) Cousin--MS Mom's cousin--MS
  24. We love the Pancake mix fron The Gluten Free Pantry. Even my husband who is not gluten-free!
  25. I've never had a problem with the Tinkyada--could it possibly be the sauce, or something else you're eating along with it?
