  5. To All, No more doughnuts brought up the topic of Lectins today so I thought I would start a topic on it. Here is the research I am aware of ...20 years ago...it was controversial enough then to get a doctor fired over discussing this theory... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1115436/ It doesn't mean he was right...but it...
  6. cristina, eating low carb might help...they ferment pushing on the flap that leaks out stomach acid...eating fats with carbs...can delay stomach emptying leading to bloating...my nephew is dealing with this issue now...I prefer the H2 blockers because they seem to have less longer term effects....I have helped my friends with this issue...see chris kresser...
  7. To Whomever Might Read This, This is metaphor only …not intended to diagnosis or treat anyone but to educate…. There is an old joke told about Jaguar cars in the 1980s’ and early 1990s etc… that you needed two to drive one… Kia might have been in/on that same boat…when first introduced in circa 1992 but since the early 2000s IE this Millennium ...
  8. I hi EnnisTx, You might look into Lectins...there are a lot of good article on it ...just google it and see what comes up...earlier I was trying to find something specific to peanuts...but your problems seem to be broader than peanuts alone. I won't overload you with links...I will just quote one featured on Celiac.com 3 or 4 years ago.. I...
  9. Cyclinglady, If you can delete this post please do so...I know how to edit it in the first 24 hours but I am not sure if I can delete my own post or not...I often become Myopic...thinking about one symptom....I see now how I was trying to diagnose others...my CONTEXT was wrong...and I was WRONG to comment on something I knew nothing about...other than...
  10. Stevej, Cylinglady is right!....I was trying to answer a couple threads at one time...and confused the symptom's of someone's child who was older....please disregard ...my earlier advise...and check with your doctors... Here is a link about the issues Cyclinglady raised about children and Pepto issues. https://www.verywellfamily.com/pepto...
  11. EnnisTx, This is about your Peanut issue...Squirmingitch referenced an article from Australia in the grapes thread....and it had something about Peanuts in it...here is a nice link about what is in peanuts that could be causing your reaction(s)....when I got a chance to read up more on it...it seems like it could be what is causing you problems....at...
  12. Stevej, Cyclinglady is right...no distinct gas smell for Celiac disease...try looking into SIBO...it can have a distinct "foul smelling gas" depending on what type of SIBO she might have...also think about trying some Pepto Bismol....to see if it helps with the smelly gas...see end of article where they talk about Bismuth aka Pepto Bismol.... Here...
  13. Fourgifts, I Second everything AWOL said...B-Vitamins and Magnesium for Energy will help her fatigue if it (CFS) is your daughters main complaints....I had similar problems in college..thought I wouldn't finish...turns out I was low in Magnesium...find a B-complex and Magnesium Glycinate to take with meals and your daughters energy levels should improve...
  14. Ch88, You mentioned that yellow urine was not a very scientific way to measure your B-2 levels... and that is true...but I didn't know the technical way to measure it at the time...here is couple two or three links that will tell you how to measure your B-2 levels....but note B-Vitamins levels can vary (change) due to stressors in our lives...
  15. To All, I came across this research recently on Lectins in beans and grains though it would be worth sharing. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/08/070801091240.htm There was an article on Celiac.com on Lectins once I thought but I couldn't find the article again. I thought it was interesting how the GI tract is always rebuilding...
  16. To All, I didn't see where anybody mentioned this..I was doing research for something else on Pubmed and this come up about allergic reactions to grapes... though rare it can happen. There was at least four different studies on it but I will only mention this one because it seems representative of the problem the OP and others have had with grapes...
  17. To All, This is in response to the new research that found IL-2 (Cytokines) can trigger a gut reaction in Celiac's. It was quoted by Scott Adams in the reaction to grapes thread but I thought it needed it's own thread. After a little researching on the current research on IL-2 Cytokines I found old research that confirmed the current day findings...
  18. Vvicin02, Sugars doesn't effect cholesterol so much cholesterol as it does triglycerides....when my blood sugars go up so do my triglycerides.... Find you a 100mg Niacin and take with meals...it can help Cholesterol...
  19. Cyclinglady, If your main complaint is chronic hives try taking some Vitamin D or have your doctor check your Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D is a known immune system modulator.... Here is a couple links about this topic/connection. One entitled "Vitamin D modulator of the immune system." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20427238 ...
  20. Cyclinglady, Have you considered whether you might have a FODMAP problem. All your sensitive foods seem to be high in FODMap's. See this Monash University list. https://www.monashfodmap.com/about-fodmap-and-ibs/high-and-low-fodmap-foods/ Also I ran across something about six months ago that can explain your Mushroom issue(s) if it...
  21. Et al, This is an addendum....because the other one was getting too long... If he had only eaten some dairy...it might of protected him some from these possible complications...Dairy (whole milk) especially is a good source of Riboflavin but only if it is in an opaque container... see this link for more information about Riboflavin... https...
  22. Kareng and Ravenwoodglass et Al, No he wasn't missing just one vitamin...that why I said taking a B-complex helped me...and Beta Carotene ...helped my remaining night vision (halo problems) Because B-Vitamins get low in groups like homocysteine (B-6, B-12, Folic Acid) but I do think there is good suspicion the primary cause of probably cataracts...
  23. Ravenwoodglass, I think they did a biopsy of a removed tumor??? It might of started out as a lipoma.... Who knows' ...I only know it was on his back...and stable for the last couple years... they said to "wait and watch" and so when it begin growing ...I had them look at it...and they said I could wait till it got bigger...when it started...
  24. GFinDC, I saw this article too and thought it was interesting but I have had a bad week.... trying to nurse my dog back to health after a surgery to remove a lymphoma...
