  1. Ch88, I think my mistake has been on concentrating on one B-Vitamin to the exclusion of the other's.... B-Vitamins are best taken as a complex preferably 2 to 3 a day for two to three months... see this study on Vitamins in Depression... https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2738337/ entitled "Understanding nutrition, depression...
  2. Wheatwacked, Let us know when you are safe ...and recovering well.. hopefully you won't be in the direct path. ....I am only commenting/posting a few days a week now myself....when I know you are ok and clear of the storm I will try and answer your question in more detail. tonight I wanted to respond to Ch88...I still owe him a response...
  3. Wheat wacked, I was doing some research on another topic....and I found some research that might help explain what you are experiencing... Alcohol doubles the rate of Celiac diagnosis... and while that alone is only association there have been other studies about this topic. they have shown the cerebelllar degeneration can be cause by...
  4. Wheatwacked, Since this topic is very close to you.... You should read this paper about the biochemistry of Alcohol.... I will warn you....it is kind of long....but very informative and exhaustive. I have only skimmed it myself.... https://academic.oup.com/alcalc/article/49/3/238/210446 I usually try and read or at least scan...
  5. GFinDC et Al, Wikipedia is a good place to start...not end up.. (often). I have thought about why other's can 't see Pellagra and I can...and it is because we are looking in different places..... In the literature classically "Pellagra" here after will and does only refer to skin eruptions/lesions etc. In this narrow view...then Cyclinglady...
  6. It is my belief, based on my experience, that Alcohol Addiction is caused by eating Wheat. The professionals see an alcoholic with Pellagra and jump to the 'obvious conclusion' that alcohol addiction is the cause of the malnutrition; and alcoholism is incurable anyway so don't bother to look further? So, Primary Pellagra...
  7. Cyclinglady, Knitty Kitty et al, I agree more research and study needs to be done concerning this topic. It is why I/we are having this/these discussion(s). A good model is predictive or it has to be iterated...changed. The difference between a hypothesis and theory ...is one works...it predicts outcomes. Genetics doesn't include...
  8. KarenG and Knitty Kitty, I don't have time to answer this in more detail tonight ...but I will answer in a more complete, comprehensive way soon. Celiac's nutrition does not always get better ...with time ...as we might think...if are nutrition is not better in two or three years then something else is causing it. See this study about after...
  9. Connie, I am not completely up on this thread but this might be why. https://www.livescience.com/36206-truth-potassium-bromate-food-additive.html https://www.kcet.org/food/is-there-potassium-bromate-in-your-bread The EU is not allowed to use Bromine in their breads...it is a halogen like Iodine and for any who has rash/DH issues with...
  10. To All, Recently Cyclinglady asked me to find some cases (that were not Alcoholic) related and Pellagra and for the most part it was as she suspected...this conditions exist in other diseases' ....not as a separate disease diagnosis... I did find Pellagra in Sjorgens disease and Chrons' but not as the primary diagnosis...only as a 2ndary associated...
  11. Pikakegirl, You might try taking some B-6 in the P5P form. Also try taking some Thiamine it can help CFS. Here is the research on it entitled "Thiamine and fatigue in inflammatory bowel diseases: an open-label pilot study." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23379830 You might want to research some on B-2 aka Riboflavin too it has...
  12. RMJ, Try reading this thread....it might help you ...it has a lot of good research about this topic. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/122593-tonsillectomy/?tab=comments#comment-997652 (I am not sure why the thread didn't link ...but you can just copy and paste in a browser to follow the thread or right click on it an open it in a new tab...
  13. Link didn't work for me....Jefferson Adams link either. I hope this is helpful. Posterboy,
  14. Ch88, I know I won't be able to say this right and I am sorry for that.....low stomach and no stomach acid has been studied in Celiac's See this research entitled "Gastric morphology and function in dermatitis herpetiformis and in coeliac disease." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3992169 when our pH get's over 3.0 approx. we lose our...
  15. Cyclinglady, If you go back and look at the link I quoted it was about a Riboflavin deficiency also known as Pellagra Sine Pellagra...NOT Pellagra.... but close enough to mimic GI Problems without Skin Involvements.... I was telling Ch88....I got it wrong....I did not have Pellagra because my skin was not involved in my diagnosis...it was a...
  16. BlurryFace, I forget to add this link. It shows how Raynaud's syndrome can also be common in someone with diagnosed with erythromelalgia https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20186674 Again I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advice. Posterboy,
  17. To All, I am sorry ....I didn't mean to get every one upset. I was actually trying to be quick and short....they say short posts are more effective. You mentioned (BF) that you had erythromelalgia And I wanted you to be sure you also knew about Lupus ...but I could of also mentioned Raynaud's Syndrome which often occurs in someone who...
  18. To All, I saw this study recently on CNN. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/your-heartburn-drugs-may-be-giving-you-allergies-study-suggests/ar-AAF4R55 I wonder what others on the forum thought about it. The results are similar to a study approx. 5 years old that linked PPIs in Celiac's. What do you think is there any connection...
  19. Ch88, I am not trying to hide anything and I why I quoted a reputable source for Niacin. Anything in excess even B-Vitamins might cause some side effects ....but I have found frequency is much more important than size of the doses.....most of us will never absorb that much at one time...we usually top at around 200mg every 2 to 3 hours with...
  20. Blurry Face, You might want to look in to Lupus. People who have a butterfly rash often have Lupus. Here is an article about it entitled "The butterfly rash and the malar flush. What diseases do these signs reflect?" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1824645/ I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advise. Posterboy,
  21. Rhy09, Has her Gall Bladder been checked? It can cause repeated vomiting. Here is an article about it. Espom salts can sometimes move a stone by relaxing the common bile duct....sometimes Lemon Juice is also used in combination with Epsom Salts to move a gall stone. Here is a couple links on this topic. https://www.healthline.com/health...
  22. Ch88, I am familiar with that study....what is not emphasized is this is among people already taken a statin. Yet they did not conclude statin's could be causing these issues....this was an additive to those taking statins... this study was not only about Niacin alone...a weakness of the study. Statins' have already been known to block...
  23. Ch88 and Trents, I had seen this research but not in this form...I hadn't had time to follow all the links. They said it was related to the AHR receptor....following the link in the original article. https://www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2018/05/16/researchers-uncover-gut-bacterias-potential-role-in-multiple-sclerosis/#44b6ef524232 ...
  24. Ch88 and Trents, I didn't get to finish my thought....earlier trents said he had not a had "migraine episode" since he changed his Magnesium to a glycinate or had recently started a Magnesium supplement. ..or something to that effect.... Turns out there is a connection between Serotonin production and Magnesium and it might be why he hasn't had...
  25. ch88, I found it interesting that nutritional status was/has been shown to effect gene variants. B-Vitamins are how we handle/down regulate stress in our body. ..being low in one/or more of these Vitamins causes us to loose our fight with inflammation, sickness and disease often I believe. Here is nice overview on Riboflavin and how it operates...
