How long to get gluten back in
Posterboy replied to Susan in NS's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Susan in NS, To add to what Cyclinglady said....if I had to wait that long for a scope that long I might just accept the blood test and assume I had Celiac disease.... I was in a similar situation when I got diagnosed... I accepted the blood test as positive after my serum antibodies went down after a trial month of being gluten free and moved... -
To All, I wanted to add this studied I just came across.....Maybe it will help someone else. Here is the Abstract entitled "Metabolic Benefits of Six-month Thiamine Supplementation in Patients With and Without Diabetes Mellitus Type 2." TheFuzz, In that case....you might try taking some Magnesium Citrate with meals or Magnesium Glycinate anytime it is convenient....Long term use of PPI's can cause you to have low Magnesium levels....which could be causing your Joint/Bone pain. Here is a couple links about it.... https://www.drnewtons.com/blog/magnesium-deficiency-could-be...

Posterboy replied to SamIPD's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
SamIPD, This is a two part answer.... I didn't see any relationship after a quick search in the literature....if any thing it argues against it... Here is the only study I found on the topic and it was about "Pseudopolycythaemia and coeliac disease." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1433153/ As for your Avitiaminosis... -

abdominal pain and stool color change
Posterboy replied to Caye's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Caye, It is not uncommon to have NAFLD disease when diagnosed as a Celiac.... I had similar elevated enzymes....they usually normalize after a year or two of eating gluten free... If you want to speed up the process with your Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver...try taking some Benfotiamine....it is fat soluble Thiamine sold in the diabetic section... -
To All, Here is the Research...Entitled "Pharmacokinetic study of benfotiamine and the bioavailability assessment compared to thiamine hydrochloride" quoting from the article... Abstract "Benfotiamine is a lipid‐soluble thiamine precursor which can transform to thiamine in vivo and subsequently be metabolized to t...

To All, I found this today that confirms how B-Vitamins are often low in GI diseases.... Keight, I think Knitty Kitty gave you some good advise.... Do consider taking a fat soluble Thiamine like the readily available Benfotiamine.....usually found in the diabetic section.... It is well understood Thiamine is needed for CARB metabolism....but it is only recently been found out (last 5 years or so) ....that Thiamine is also needed...

To All, Here is a good link to additional resources for mortality in those (Refractory Celiac's) who do not improve on a gluten free diet....I didn't see it linked.. They used lower albumin levels' as risk factor for increased mortality... When this happens a Celiac is said to be in "Crisis"....more common in newly diagnosed Celiac's. https...
