  1. bails74, NCGS has been proven to be or at least suspected if not proven to be auto-immune in origin. see this recent research about this topic "Extra-intestinal manifestations of non-celiac gluten sensitivity: An expanding paradigm." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29662290 Inflammation is being triggered by gluten not only in celiac...
  2. Mags88, You can't diagnose DH from a picture. But here is a couple links that might help you. https://www.mdedge.com/ccjm/article/114635/dermatology/skin-findings-associated-nutritional-deficiencies https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3179000/ Look into Phrynoderma as a possible differential diagnosis....DH is extremely...
  3. WheatlessAdventures, Knitty Kitty has given you good advice....as she always does. We emphasis B-Vitamin(s) I think because we know how they helped us. B-Vitamins helps us more than most people realize....they act as co-enzymes in the body driving our metabolic pathways...without B-Vitamins to guide these pathways....the car...our health runs...
  4. Frangipani et al, I saw this topic a couple of months ago ...and really hadn't had any time ....to think about it. then you refreshed the thread.... I had come across something a while back that struck as something it might be. B-6 deficiency can cause rashes or scaly rashes in the folds of a persons body? then I started digging some more...
  5. Ch88, There was some discussion about how common the MTHFR gene variant was. When I first read this link/discussion/topic on Celiac.com on the MTHFR gene variant it was the first I had heard of it. The numbers they cited for frequency seemed high...I like your moderate ground. That made me go back and dig,....diggggggg....digggggg some...
  6. Liv, Here is another nice overview on SIBO and prevalence in Celiac's. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3099351/ I thought it was very striking how many Celiac's symptom's got better (among those still suffering)...not their Celiac but their symptom's. Here is their paragraph on the connections of SIBO in Celiac's. "Celiac...
  7. Liv, I try and be short for me anyway. Taking DAO will/can your Histamine issues. Here is nice article summary about it. https://alisonvickery.com.au/dao-deficiency/ It (DAO deficiency) is common in SIBO due to inflammation. This link has a quick summary of why inflammation interferes with DAO production. https://sibodiaries...
  8. clarareese, I think Ennis_Tx has given you good advise. Try some Epsom salts ..it sounds like you might have gallstone in your bile duct. Epsom Salts and Lemon juice can sometimes make it move...the bilirubin build up can cause the itching you are experiencing. You definitely need to see your doctor if this doesn't help. I had friend...
  9. Trents, I forget this Webmd article about this topic. These connections were not established until the drugs were already on the market. ...imagine that. People were reporting migraines with these drugs ....and now drug interactions is a common cause of ER visit's today. https://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/qa/how-did-scientists...
  10. trents, I think I might of been mistaken. I was basing it on the integrative pro histiamine pathway chart. https://www.integrativepro.com/Resources/Integrative-Blog/2016/Many-Effects-of-Histamine-Neurotransmitter The extracellular histamine pathway is used to degrade histamine in the gut whereas the intracellular histamine pathway...
  11. Trents, I did post the link and the text in the response it was the sciencedirect link https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/nursing-and-health-professions/tyramine it is the top left article entitled "MIGRAINE AND DIET" there it established how tryamine triggers "histamine storms'' my words. see also their bottom right article on Physciatry...
  12. Cyclinglady, I used that one because it had a nice picture of what a hiatal hernia was.... there is many resources for this information ....I have posted the Celiac.com article before and will do here again as a nice middle ground. https://www.celiac.com/articles/25027/1/The-MTHFR-Mutation/Page1.html As far as whether proper supplements...
  13. Trents, Liv actually posted a nice chart...it can be a bit confusing in the beginning. The reason I posted the link on under/over methylation it is because they are connected/related issues....but unless you read up on it a little bit it can cause your head to spin the beginning. There is a Histamine/Methylation axis...when one is up/the other...
  14. Liv, Here is a good link on the overview of a MTHFR Gene defect. https://www.beyondmthfr.com/mthfr-and-the-acid-reflux-paradox-part-i/ If you are having trouble with energy take the Magnesium Glycinate with meals that Trents is taking ...it should really help your energy levels. If you don't dream now... you will almost certainly begin...
  15. Trents, I see I didn't post this link ...it might answer some of your questions entitled "Does SIBO Affect Histamine Intolerance and DAO" I didn't want my post to get way tooooooooo long. https://www.drbenlynch.com/sibo-histamine/ It has a great overview I certainly learned alot about the SIBO/Histamine Intolerance connection by reading...
  16. Trents and Liv, You will have other symptom's not commonly associated with your Celiac diagnosis if SIBO has developed. Like B12 issues, unintended weight loss and low Albumin levels. this is figure 3 from the SIBO overview link "Table 3 Clinical Manifestations of Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth Weight loss Steatorrhea ...
  17. Trents, It also might be the Sulfites in the wine. Here is an article on it. https://www.chicagotribune.com/lifestyles/health/sc-red-wine-headache-health-0608-20160525-story.html But my bet is on Tyramine ....it is connected to a histamine storm. Here is a nice Webmd article on it. https://www.webmd.com/migraines-headaches/tyramine...
  18. Trents, try swapping your Magnesium Citrate (I assume) that is the one that most causes flushing to a Magnesium Glycinate and Magnesium shouldn't cause a laxative effect anymore. Here is a great resource on the best type of Magnesium(s) to take. ..it is the best I have read. https://www.dietvsdisease.org/best-magnesium-supplement/ I hope...
  19. Trents, That is a good question "how hard is it to get a primary care physician to order a breath test". Here is a good place to start. ..being a celiac or NCGS should/would probably qualify you to have it done. https://www.aafp.org/afp/2019/0301/p301.html the AAFP is like an online resource for family physicians the link I provided has...
  20. Liv and Trents, If you are having trouble with a DAO deficiency you might want to look into SIBO. It is possible you have a genetic deficiency for the DAO gene but it is unlikely since SIBO has been shown to interview with DAO metabolism. Here is the research link on the genetic deficiency. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21488903 ...
  21. KariB, Check into SIBO ...it can cause rapid weight loss. Look into SIBO as a possible cause...SIBO happens in Celiac's too. Here is a nice overview of the Skin connection in Lupus from verywell health and a couple longer more technical papers about this skin/SIBO connection...
  23. Alli Rae, I just saw your thread. If you are having sulpur burps then you probably have an Ulcer. Most likely from H. Pylori or you might have also developed SIBO. Here are some links about it. https://www.healthhype.com/sulphur-or-rotten-eggs-burps-belching-foul-smelling-gas.html quoting their article on Sulphur Reducing Microbes...
  24. Cjax, I think you should check into SIBO. CFS and Brain Fogginess is common in those who develop SIBO. 25. Stephanie86, Everything Ennis_Tx said is good. Try a dual treatment..... The link cyclinglady provided for SIBO was a good one but I wanted to provide a couple more because they tie togehter how things might be connected a little more. https://www.verywellhealth.com/signs-of-small-intestinal-bacterial-overgrowth-sibo-4125271 This...
