  1. Wheatwacked, I agree with you it is well documented...just not well accepted or understood. It (Folic Acid) is added to gluten containing breads ...enriched flours ...why does it need to be enriched to be good enough for human consumption??? One might wonder? My point about Magnesium ...is it complimentary to your Lithium regimen ...as long...
  2. Wheatwacked, Try you some Magnesium Glycinate it works well for depression. Here is a Livestrong article on it and why Magnesium has less side effects than Lithium for depression. https://www.livestrong.com/article/386198-magnesium-as-treatment-for-bipolar-disorder/ Here is the original research abstract about it entitled "Rapid recovery...
  3. Liv, I found out the same thing about Zinc and my Anxiety. Here is the research link between Anxiety and Zinc entitled "Decreased Zinc and Increased Copper in Individuals with Anxiety" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3738454/ Try using Zinc Lozenges until they become metallic in your mouth ...It is a sign your body is telling...
  4. Ennis_Tx, Scott, and Cyclinglady et al, Here is a couple of good links on Prostaglandins ....both inflammatory and anti-inflammatory. This is one is how Prostglandins work in the body and is more technical entitled "prostaglandins and inflammation" covering both the good and bad kind(s) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3081099/ ...
  5. Deto, Try some bromelain found in Pinneaples...I believe it will help your digestion. It works the same way as turmeric by regulation of Prostaglandins in the body thus controlling inflammation. Here is a wisegeek article on it (foods that contain) anti-inflammatory Prostaglandins. ..including Bromelain from Pineapples. https://www.wisegeek...
  6. edgymama and notme, I couldn't get it to quote properly so I have quoted it below. "finally, she got 'thrush' - that started in her intestines and worked it's way up her esophagus into her mouth." I meant to post this earlier but I got busy with other things and my first reply was getting a little too long. Try taking some Lysine (an...
  7. Wheatwacked, Folic Acid can be a problem for some...and why it is hard to generalize.... Taking BetaineHCL can help us absorb our Folic Acid better. We get high homocysteine levels when we have a MTFHR gene defect issue. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6877313 Here is a nice thread on Folic Acid issues and the MTFHR gene defect...
  8. Wheatwacked, I have been busy with other things but I found supplementation helped me too! It only made sense to me to supplement with my missing nutrients. I wrote a posterboy blog post about my experience ...maybe it will help you. I called it essentially see link below "How to Win a Two Front War" with supplementation ...if you are...
  9. HealthySquirrel, I am so sorry to hear you are not doing/feeling well. I had ran across some research a few years ago that might help you. 10. Edgymama and Cyclinglady, I am not sure how to say this....we tend to want diseases to stay in their lane(s)/(silos). See this recent article on Celiac.com that explains how eating gluten free can reduce Schizophrenia Symptoms in Some Patients...typically thought of as different disease(s) and they may be or they may be only the same disease with...
  11. Edgymama, Don't do anything different before your Endoscopy so you can have a baseline. I found this approx. 5 year old research recently about IBS that might help you entitled "Tryptophan: ‘essential’ for the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome?" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4266036/ It takes 15 or 20 years for...
  12. itsme42, If it is truly yellow and not just clay colored (or earth colored which is normal) you might have a problem. 13. To All, This is good research! I had recently ran across the Kynurenine (KYN) pathway in my own research. It is now been shown as the pathogenic cause of IBS. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4266036/ And even earlier than that it was linked to Celiac disease Circa 2007. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC...

  15. Ennis_Tx, If you want to try and bird dog it yourself and don't have enough insurance to go see a doctor at the moment. Here is the AAFP site article about this topic of a Fever of an Unknown Origin (FUO) https://www.aafp.org/afp/2003/1201/p2223.html Again I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advise. Posterboy,
  16. Ennist_Tx, I am not saying this is what it is ...but it bears checking into. Persistent, intermittent fever could be reactivated EBV. ... it also known as CAEBV. Here is some research about it. https://www.wellnessresources.com/news/new-findings-with-epstein-barr-virus-the-sleeping-giant https://www.doctoroz.com/article/secret-life...
  17. FruitE, The hardest part about taking any vitamin/mineral is finding the right form/frequency to take it in ... while taking magnesium oxide can help the big "C" it is not well absorbed by the body. see this good thread on magnesium. taking Niacin has had similar issues. ..it flushes people in higher doses and why most won't take it. .. find...
  18. wheatwacked, I heard it was due to the pasteurization (heat) ...one's stored in chilled refrigerators should have more "live bacteria" by the natural process of fermentation...pasteurization kills off the benefit of fermented foods. I don't 'know of that is right or not?????but that is what I understood. concerning the prebotic/probiotic benefits...
  19. Defokus, If it is just Lipase and not other pancreas enzymes too then going gluten free should help your enzymes go down.... I had elevated liver enzymes that went down after a year. 40 percent of celiac's have elevated enzymes(usually liver enzymes) at time of diagnosis but only 25 percent of celiac's have elevated pancreas enzymes. Here...

  21. healthysquirrel, Ennistx is right most protein bars have a "FODMAP" issue. Their a "No COW" bar that is dairy, gluten and soy free ....but it has a FODMAP in it .
