I'm glad I am not alone best wishes to you. More details for potential future viewers: I started monitoring my blood pressure and heart rate this weekend and will do so this week (off work a few days). It is too hard to do at work. I am trying to figure out if is it blood pressure falling ( hypotension) or POTS symptoms/orthostatic. I read...

Heck yes, nausea at nauseum! During my gluten challenge I had to pull over just transporting it home in my car to "poision" myself with it. Open the door and lean out worst resort.... I failed at a 12 week challenge, the two week too for that matter! I still can get nauseous If I go to the bank atm and burger king next door is pumping out...

Good News, Cooking, Holidays
Awol cast iron stomach commented on Ennis-TX's blog entry in Daily Life and Compromising
Wonderful news on the healing Ennis! What a wonderful thing for you. Other than the immediate family it will be quiet here on Thanksgiving. It was challenging the past few years (at first to accept), but I learned to embrace it. I do hope you have a few guests for dessert perhaps, or a peaceful evening of good health, all your own, to your well... -

My comment is what kind or type of alcohol was he drinking. Was he possibly cc? I realize he refused to eat because of the celiac, but as I learned on the forums here most celiac people drinking at a public establishment note an inherent risk of cc. Was Mr. Quaye knowledgeable about this?

I do have challenges, frustrations, and fears about the autonomic issues. Success stories? Management which yields hope? Wisdom? From other members? U.S. Wheat Acreage Plummets to 110 Year Low
Awol cast iron stomach commented on Jefferson Adams's article in Additional Concerns
Conflicting feelings as a celiac glad to hear. They will plant other crops, as a Midwesterner I am sympathetic when our farmers experience loss of profits. May the change bring benefits to both the celiac and the farmers who will switch to crops in a changing market.- 1 comment

I had 7 of these diagnosis over a 20 plus year period often diagnosed by symptoms only. I second the appendix poster above as well. As one time it was thought to be appendix , further testing showed it was not. I am glad they further investigated that one and I have my appendix today. Oh also asthma too I would add can be another misdiagnosis some Drs...

PTSD and Gluten
Awol cast iron stomach replied to Gluten.Solutions's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know this is an old thread and clearly the author experienced trauma. I am glad he has a wonderful life now and gluten-free has improved it. I do want to add, I hope researchers will in time (as Scott/ admin points out) look into the effect celiac/ NCGS gluten has on the nervous system of those with the conditions . In my opinion, it is possible... -

What a great love story. -
As others said above we now realize most of us went undiagnosed or misdiagnosed longer than ideal. personally, it did take more than 2 years to heal after my gluten challenge. I still currently struggle with the damage to my nerves I believe occured due to being misdiagnosed for so long. I have some challenging postpradinal hypotension that is wicked...

Over the past three years I only reacted to one purchase of mushrooms. I am not certain if they were grown near or on grains or somehow cc before purchase at store. We buy mushrooms from the 3 stores I do not have problems with their mushrooms and just crossed the bad mushroom reaction store off list for mushrooms going forward.

Hello, sorry you are feeling unwell since the exposure. As you said yes sometimes we become more sensitive to gluten cc or other foods or intolerance s develop. I don't eat too many processed foods now, and I have to make my own condiments now. My body also does not like gluten-free processed items, the more ingredients in them the more likely my body...

Welcome and ramble on... muscle twitches all over,( check) nerve pain in hands and feet, (check) muscles can fatigue easily,(check ache often in certain areas with gluten or after cc) then came swallowing difficulties where food gets stuck in throat ( check- happened during my gluten challenge , but thankfully diligently gluten-free this was not... -
Elimination diet
Awol cast iron stomach replied to Svelte's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Yes sometimes during healing the immune system is super sensitive and fired up. I had 13 intolerances at one time down to 3 besides gluten. My immune system didn't like corn/ corn dervatives, cow milk, xathum gum things I often ate with gluten or tried when I went first tried gluten-free diet before diagnosis. Nowadays even with diligence and strict... -

Ennis, It's unfortunate to hear you are struggling at this time. I hope you find some comfort and peace soon. Hopefully, you got through your busy summer farmers market before this erupted. The liver jerky is a clever way to ensure you get your nutrients since the veggies are troublesome these days. The rancher/all meat processor is a golden find...

Symptoms and relief
Awol cast iron stomach replied to Fourgifts's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Let me clarity, I wasn't implying chronic fatigue. Just that some women in my opinion bio chem level need more b vitamins around their menstrual cycle and/or magnesium as the body with all of its job at that time may need more, especially if demands as greater than norm. Ensuring these women get enough b's may help especially if one is not consuming fortified... -
Being upset is part of the process. So if the feeling of being upset at the way we were treated, misdiagnosed etc. It is par for the course. My suggestion allow it. Feel it and allow those feelings or thoughts they are valid. Your experiences were what they were on this path, and sometimes they were bad and it's ok to grieve or be angry about it as you...

Pizza shop really safe?
Awol cast iron stomach replied to Fourgifts's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
A time years back I tried the shared kitchen seperated prep and pans etc. Once for pizza and another time a burger place that had reviews from other Celiac's . I had ataxia in my left arm very quickly after consuming. So unfortunately for me it would have to be a gluten-free only restaurant. I am likely unable to eat at that type of restaurant either...
