  1. I believe the issue with Wendy's fries are that they are fried in the same vat as the chicken nuggets & fried chicken sandwhich breasts. Wendy's has a gluten-free area on their website at Open Original Shared Link Editing to add that Chik-fil-a waffle fries are gluten-free and YUMMY!!
  2. Hi Patty.....love your avatar picture Too cute! I am hesitant to eat things that others make too, unless it is my MIL (who takes this very seriously) or my Mom. My Dad (remarried) is making gluten-free stuffing for Christmas dinner (with bread that I gave him) and I am very nervous! LOL!
  3. I missed the cookie part!! I was wrapping gifts too and DS yelled to me that they were talking about gluten-free stuff!! LOL! I'll have to go back & watch that part.
  4. I have seen many gluten-free products in Meijier, Kroger & Giant Eagle. Gluten-free Pantry, Glutino, Cherrybrook Kitchen, Enjoy Life, Tinkyada, Mi-Del, Bob's Red Mill are some of the ones I have seen.
  5. If his ttg is still positive after 4 months gluten-free, I would say there is no doubt that he has a problem with gluten. If they want to do the scope to check for Crohn's, eating gluten shouldn't matter for that. Why make the kid miserable and put him back on gluten for that? He is obvously doing better gluten-free. As to why he is still not feeling...
  6. If I am not mistaken, the DeBole's Lasagna has instructions for No Boil right on the box. I don't have a box of it now, but I am almost positive that I have not boiled these the last time I made lasagna. We make mac & cheese with Tinkyada, butter, milk & Kraft Cheese Powder that comes in the can. DS & DD love it!
  7. Bob's Red Mill made me feel kinda funky, but it could be b/c I think there are bean flours in it and I don't think I can tolerate those as well as the rice/tapioca/potato starch flours. I really like the gluten-free mix made out of those 3 for baking.
  8. on The View today (12/21/2006). They bring it up b/c people are always asking why she doesn't eat on the show. She does eat the candy they have today and she shows everyone b/c it is gluten-free. Rosie goes on to say that Elisabeth has a "gluten allergy".
  9. Wow!! Glad that your power is back on now!!!
  10. Another tip.....our PF Changs take reservations.....maybe they all do! That way you shouldn't have to wait that long. I love the Phillip's Better Lemon Chicken!!!
  11. YUM!!! That sounds great, too!! I just copied the brownie recipe you posted, too! Thanks for sharing all these wonderful recipes!
  12. Those sound like heaven!!!! Thanks for sharing!
  13. That is awesome!!!! Keep up the good work! I am interested to see what DS's levels are in Jan....his ttg was 222 in June.
  14. Good for you for sticking to your guns and getting your husband diagnosed! I wish some of these ignorant doctors would get with the program! Hope that your husband starts to feel better soon!
  15. I know that it may be hard, but I would tell the family. If you are afraid that they will feed DD without your knowing, I wouldn't think you had much choice but to tell them and impress upon them the importance of her sticking to a strict gluten-free diet. Bring plenty of food along that she can eat and maybe let them give her some of that stuff. ...
  16. I use Jif PB for DS and it is gluten-free. I believe that Peter Pan is as well. I myself use Skippy Natural (no soy or gluten) and have had no problems with it. I use Hellman's Canola Mayo. The whole Hellmen's line is gluten-free. Hellman's is made by Unilever which will clearly label any gluten. Pam cooking spray is gluten-free (not the baking...
  17. Love, love, love that they do this!
  18. If the flavoring was in the Kraft dressing, it would have said if it contained gluten. They will not hide gluten on their labels. Carrageenan is fine. Could you possibly have another food sensitivity? What brand was the Chili? Hope you feel better soon!
  19. 1) I went to Whole Foods over the weekend and did some shopping. This morning I opened the Arrowhead Mills gluten-free Baking Mix and saw tiny little brown specs in it. Now if this had been my old traditional baking flour, I'd pitch it, but where it is made from alternative flours, could this be normal? I called Arrowhead Mills, but the very kind agent couldn...
  20. I made my traditional recipe this year (celery, butter, sausage, poultry seasoning, salt & papper) with Ener-G LIght Tapioca Bread. It was awesome and no one even knew it was gluten-free!! WOOHOOO!!! The stuffing is supposed to have onions in it too, but they make me sick, so I left them out. If you would like more specifics on amounts, just let...
  21. I haven't been retested yet...it won't be a year until Jan. But, I wanted to say that I was still getting occasional heartburn until I quit drinking caffeine on a daily basis. Now I can have a latte every so often with no heartburn, but no pop still. Maybe try taking it out of your diet to see if it helps?
  22. My soy issues were discovered when I tried to substitute soy milk for dairy. It is much like gluten....excessive gas, cramping, pain, constipation and sometimes D. I can't eat anything with soybean oil or lecithen either. I just generally feel better avoiding soy all together. Sometimes I will happen upon soy without knowing (eating out) and will not...
  23. We also saw results quickly....within the first week or 2, for both me & my son. DS had behavioral issues and he is just genuinely a nicer person all around off of gluten. His grades have improved, too! Keep up the good work!!!!
  24. We always used to toast our bread for stuffing, so I am doing the same thing with the gluten-free bread. I expect that it will taste pretty much the same as it used to with the same recipe.
  25. It is possible that it is sugar. Do you have dairy or soy sensitivites? I know that lactose & soy both produce the same symtpoms in me as you describe. I would try keeping a food diary to see if you can figure out exactly what it is that is bothering you. It took me a while to figure out my soy intolerance. Soy is in so much b/c when it says "vegetable...
