ARCHIVED Any Luck With Freezing Frosting?
wolfie replied to stolly's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
My Mom used to freeze her frosting (shortening or butter, powdered sugar, milk and vanilla...sometimes cocoa too) and had no issues. I have some in the freezer right now that I hope to use this weekend. -
ARCHIVED Calling All You Pizza Makers
wolfie replied to MyMississippi's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
We use Pamela's Amazing Wheat Free Bread Mix for pizza crust. It is the best I have come across so far. DS loves it. DD, who isn't gluten-free loves it too! I top with Prego 3 Cheese and mozzerella. I do add italian spices and parm cheese to the dough for flavor. That Brazilian Cheese bread made into pizza crust looks really good. We eat a lot... -
ARCHIVED Changes In Behavior
wolfie replied to chasing4's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
DS's behavior improved almost immediately on the gluten-free diet. I imagine that as your DD's body is going through changes on a new diet that she could experience the behavior changes. It is a good sign that she hasn't been as irritable. -

I agree about barley being a possibility in Natural Flavors. I ran across this with Mrs. Butterworth's Syrup when I was first diagnosed. -

We love the pizza recipe on the side of the bag. Even DH, who doesn't have to eat gluten-free, says it is very good! I now order this in bulk from Amazon b/c it is so much cheaper that way. -

wolfie replied to Hopefulmama's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
My suspected diganosis (my bloodwork was postive, but I went gluten-free before I saw the GI dr and felt so good I wasn't going back on gluten for the endoscopy/biopsy) and DS's behavior. He was being evaluated for ADHD and I asked his Ped to do the Celiac Panel before I would consider putting him on medication. His bloodwork was positive, as was his biopsy... -

ARCHIVED Restaurants That Have Gluten Free Food In Myrtle Beach Sc
wolfie replied to suepooh4's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
There is a Cheeseburger in Paradise in Myrtle Beach. They have a great gluten-free menu. We go to Sunset Beach (north of Myrtle Beach) every year and usually stick to the chain restaurants that have gluten-free menus. It would be nice to go to some local places and eat, but we tried that the first year I was gluten-free and I ended up eating a lot of dry... -

Yes, this was me too. The ferritin was low, but other numbers were okay. I went to the dr mainly b/c I was turned away when I went to donate blood. I now take Repliva and have been on it for almost 6 months. Still cold a lot, but I don't sleep nearly as much as I did. I will have my numbers checked again in Feb to see if they are now where they are supposed...

ARCHIVED Children's Motrin Liquid
wolfie replied to Nic's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
We have used it with no issues in the past. As far as the constipation, it may be the medicine itself, not gluten. I have a tendency to get constipated when using ibuprofen. -
I am always cold as well. I also get the white toes, sometimes for no reason. I often wear multiple layers topped off with a fleece jacket in the winter. I always bring a sweatshirt or jacket whereever I go in the summer. My thyroid is normal. Iron stores were a bit on the low normal side. When I do get hot though, I seem to overheat quickly.

I think that some Wendy's have dedicated fryers, while others don't. You need to ask at each location.

Yes, they usually have a guitar player singing, but have scaled down on the performances for the winter months. -
I am so excited!! Last year I attempted to make these and they all ran together on the cookie sheet and made a very large mess. This year I used a different flour mix and it was like magic!!! Here is the recipe for anyone that is interested: Gingersnaps 1 cup packed brown sugar
