  1. MSG is gluten free but it bothers a lot of people. I personally do not get any symptoms from it but I only eat minimal amounts of it. It is not something I consume a lot of. You should do a search on this site for it, it is a very interesting topic and after reading the material you will be able to better understand MSG. I learned a lot about it that I never...
  2. It is good your company is so good about things like that. I eat the Wegmans brand all the time, they mark gluten free on their products but they still are produced in the same area. I have never had any problems and they were recognized by the Celiac Center at Columbia for their efforts to help patrons with Celiac Disease. This store is very celiac friendly...
  3. I believe it is Gluten Free. We use it alot in my house, to make cherry coke.
  4. I had the beed stroganof a few weeks maybe a month or two ago, it was very good. I used to buy it as a meal in a cup too.
  5. Your meal does sound very good. Now I am getting hungry. I would always get the chicken alfredo...and eat the leftover for breakfast because it was good reheated.
  6. Carolyn, I am glad to see your post. I never knew the sterlizing process so it was very informative. My fiance still eats wheat containing food, so there is always a potential for cc in my kitchen. We are very good about seperate areas, seperate utensils, so far there is not a problem. He is also a person who loves to clean and strives for perfection so...
  7. Some people do not understand at first. When I first went gluten free it was when Atkins was huge and everyone kept saying...Oh you are doing Atkins... That was very rude she threw a breadstick on your salad. Even if she didn't do it on purpose. So I am curious what did you eat at Olive Garden? I would love to go back there one day. Like the waitress...
  8. I took both FollistimQ--the pen injection and Lupron. The only side effect I had was a little stomach discomfort the first few nights on the Follistim. Other than that it was fairly smooth sailing.
  9. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I am so sorry to hear about this. People can be very insensitive. Don't worry tomorrow will be a better day.
  10. I eat Nut Thins all the time and do not have any problems. I have purchased these at stores that only sell gluten free items. The fact that they are processed in a facility with wheat is not going to make me stop eating them, to me they are safe. I know a lot of celiacs who eat them with no problems too. This company is just protecting itself. Many companies...
  11. My sister who is 19, she lives in Wilkes-barre, well more of Nanticoke/Alden. She isn't right in the city. She really likes it there. My family actually lives north of Scranton, in Susquehanna county. No one ever heard of it when I say it so I usually just say Scranton. Both the Valley and Scranton have Wegmans and that is a nice place for Celiacs. You...
  12. Very pretty pics!
  13. I am glad to see this post, we were just down by Park City Center over the weekend and I saw this place. We don't have any near Harrisburg.
  14. I am originally from the Scranton area, live by Harrisburg now. I do, travel there alot to see my family. Are you new to the diet?
  15. As far as Christmas movies, my favorite is a smokey mountain Christmas with Dolly Pardon, so cute. I thought I saw Santa Claus is coming to Town is on ABC next Tuesday. I love the Charlie Brown Christmas with the small twig tree.
  16. I was looking at cruises awhile ago and I saw on the Royal Crab. sorry can't spell, they said they can accomodate gluten free diets. See if they allow you to bring some things on, and you could bake him goodies. I was never on a cruise let alone one while being gluten-free so I can't help you more.
  17. My favorite traditional song is Silent Night as well. My favorite song to sing along to is either Bryan Adams...something about christmas time or Elton John Step into Christmas. My fiance is very Christmasy, so he goes all out. I have some spirit but not an over abundance. We are getting a tree this weekend. It is cold enough to be Christmas too, last...
  18. I think that is great that she was doing a project on Celiac disease to begin with, it was even better she found herself feeling all around better, but what is the best out of all is she is doing it for herself and for the future. She is really standing up for herself and she knows down the road she wants to be healthly. I give her a lot of credit. She seems...
  19. Healthy Choice (green label) the chicken and rice contains no wheat and it comes in one of those nifty microwave containers so it is portable for work. I have been using the new Wegmans Culinary Stock broths and then just throwing in tinkaynda pasta or rice and veggies. I make enough for work and home and enjoy. I believe the Lipton in a cup cream of chicken...
  20. I wonder if the Price Chopper in PA, where my family lives is doing this. I know they started a Natural Foods area, but the selection was still small last time I was there. I will have to go check it out again.
  21. My heart went out to you when I heard this, that is awful. Your friend is a great person! My heart went out to you when I heard this, that is awful. Your friend is a great person!
  22. Sorry to hear this. Prayers are on the way. We are here if you need us. *hugs*
  23. They are safe! I am actually eating them right now!!! :) I was always sad since Easter came but once a year, now it comes around twice since they are Christmas balls....I guess they are ornaments. Enjoy!
  24. I love the breaskfast bowl!!! I only eat the ham bowl when I go to Denny's. I have never gotten sick. I do not eat at Denny's on a regular basis though, sometimes I do not feel the place is always that clean.
  25. I had lost a lot of weight before I knew I had celiac, I looked real sick and I had no energy. I have been gluten free for 2 years now and I have gained more weight. I weight in now more than I ever had in my life. I am not overweight, according to the lady doing the health assessments the other day at work. I just feel sloppier, and I have a bit of a gut...
