  1. Angie ~ Annika is beautiful! I love that picture of her! Things will settle in for you soon. Like the others have said, the newness will wear off and Tori will become the big girl helper bringing you diapers and such. Congrats!!
  2. Thanks, Arpita! We're in the mood for some cookies today so I'll be making some! Do you always order your flour through Twin Valley? I have emailed them a few times and gotten no response so I wasn't sure. Should I call them? Is their flour better than BRM?
  3. Awww, she's adorable!! That's so cool!
  4. Glad that you can laugh about it now. I have to admit I was a little worried about where the story was headed about the windows maybe not working anymore or something. It kind of reminded me of when my son (now 11) was nearly 3 years old. I was about 9 mos pregnant and had him sitting watching TV for a few minutes while I took a quick shower. I forgot...
  5. Yay!! Welcome to the world, Annika!! Congrats Angie, Don and Tori!
  6. Can't wait to see pictures of Annika!! Good luck!!
  7. I also sub sorghum flour instead of rice flour and use the same combo as Armita does. The bread in my avatar is from www.twinvalleymills.com, modified for a few more allergies though. Armita, I'd love for you to PM me the chocolate chip cookie recipe too when you have a chance (if it doesn't have a ton of eggs in it).
  8. I got rid of all my teflon a few years ago and bought a good stainless set too. I found mine at Sears. I thought I'd have to scrub and scrub to get things clean, but it really isn't bad at all. As long as you clean up right away. Sometimes I'll let a pan soak in some soapy water for a bit, but then it comes right out. I was very surprised when I read...
  9. We also go to Cold Stone Creamery on occasion. We tell them she has allergies and ask that they get a new scoop and dish her sorbet from a new container from the back. We have not done any mix-ins. I don't think she has had any problems. But, most of the time, I make her raspberry or lemon sorbet at home.
  10. You know your kids best ~ I'm sure you will have a great home school year, esp. if you have a co-op to hook up with. I am "always" conflicted too!
  11. Hope that your appointment goes well today, Angie! ((hugs))
  12. Lukas is adorable!! I think it's a great idea for you to keep track of how things go w/the celiac tests and such. Sounds like a great ped!
  13. ((Angie)) ~ hang in there!
  14. Congratulations Stef!!
  15. I use my crock pot all the time and am looking for new recipes too! A favorite here is Italian Potroast: Brown a chuck roast on both sides with a little garlic salt and worchestshire sauce. Put in the crockpot with either a large jar (I use Classico) of spaghetti sauce or stewed tomatos and your favorite italian herbs. Cook an low all day long....
  16. Looks like a great site! Thanx, Sande!
  17. Keeping my fingers crossed for you to have the VBAC, Angie!!
  18. Thanks!! I'm going to print this out for him and go to that site.
  19. It looks like they will have that list again at the Kare 11 booth! Open Original Shared Link My 8 year old dines on corn, Andre's Watermelon, the snow-cone/slushy drink thing.
  20. I'm babysitting for a friend whose dh has Crohn's Disease. I know through my various searches I've seen info on how a gluten-free diet can help with that. But, I can't find the links now. Does anyone else have any links that are helpful? They are at the surgeon's right now to discuss how to help him right now. This will be his 2nd surgery!
  21. I am watching my friend's dd right now while she takes her dh to the gastro to talk about surgery for his Crohns. I know that I have read about people with Crohn's that have benefitted from being gluten-free. Does anyone have any helpful links that I could give them? I've found a few to give them. I mentioned it to him last year, but it sounds like...
  22. Good luck!! Wishing you a quick labor and delivery!!
  23. I agree with the others too!
  24. My dd has multiple food allergies including wheat. The allergist ran the celiac panel for her and it came back inconclusive. Some of the panels came back positive, some negative. We decided not to go for a biopsy and try going gluten-free anyway. It's amazing how much better she feels. Before, she was always complaining of stomach aches, and either had...
  25. Hi Julies!! Sure, I'd love to share!! It's a Bette Hagman recipe. I had to tweak it a bit because of Carleigh's egg & milk allergies. Here's the link to the recipe. I follow it to a T except I preheat the oven to 200 degrees and then put the bread pan in the oven to rise, click off the oven. Let rise for about 20 minutes (just to the top...
