  1. My father and me.
  2. Shauna, your post is of little help if you don't tell people the name of the company. HOWEVER, I'll also add that regular old yeast is almost universally gluten-free. richard
  3. My father and I both have it. My children both tested negative and neither has shown symptoms. I absolutely would NOT consider for even a second putting a negative, symptomless child on the diet. Why would anybody do that to their child? richard
  4. Again, caramel color is gluten-free.
  5. Just tell them no test. End of story. richard
  6. I'm in Roanoke. richard
  7. This is simply not true. This is either not the real Honey Baked Ham or you were given wrong info. richard
  8. The item cited by the company is not any sort of official rule or law or definition. It was merely a proposal three years ago for people to comment on. In addition, while I would not urge anybody to eat these cheeses, I'd also bet they are perfectly gluten-free. I have never heard of any of these types of cheeses containing gluten. richard
  9. I don't know a anything about this. richard
  10. There certainly can be different levels of DH just as some are more sensitive than others to ingested gluten, but what you describe doesn't sound like DH. richard
  11. I have no problem with any of the products named here. I have no known allergies or food sensitivities other than gluten. richard
  12. Never had a problem with the cherry cordial. richard
  13. Use corn tortillas as pizzas. Bake a little. Brush with olive oil, add pizza sauce and toppings and bake until ready.
  14. Reads completely gluten-free to me. richard
  15. Your GP should be able to get you a faster appointment with a derm if you need it. Also check on dapsone to help you with the DH. richard
  16. I have no great solution for you as far as getting your family on board (mine was on board from the beginning because I nearly died from untreated celiac) but whatever you do, don't just stop seeing them. That's the worst decision possible, IMHO. Don't eat their stuff at either place. Take your own food and just be nonchalant about it. At your sister's...
  17. Generally speaking the worry about seasonings is overblown. Yes, a handful of seasoning blends (NOT spices, as Peter points out) do have gluten, but at least in the U.S. the gluten always comes from wheat and it's always listed. richard
  18. If the ingredients don't list wheat, barley or malt, the odds are EXTREMELY high that it's gluten-free. richard
  19. A paper cut absolutely is NOT a threat. richard
  20. As you know now, the cereals are most definitely out. Any time you see malt you have to assume it's made from barley. In the U.S., there are currently no hot dogs I know of that have gluten. Bologna is also safe. Frito Lay has a list online of products that do not contain gluten. Some of those could be contaminated, but eating them is up to you. richard
  21. Don't know of a gum that does have gluten. richard
  22. For right now all you need to avoid is gluten so focus on that. As far as shopping and cooking for yourself, it's really not so hard these days. Wheat MUST be listed on commercial food items. Barley is rarely hidden and is often listed as malt. Rye and oats are never hidden in food. Somebody advised you to avoid sauces and salad dressing but this isn't really...
  23. I'd make sure they're well-scrubbed and go with it. richard
  24. The Krogers I go to keeps meats and cheeses in their own case away from the prepared foods. Every meat and cheese they slice on that slicer is gluten-free now. Kroger also has this on its website: "However, speak with your Deli Manager to make arrangements to have your deli meats and cheeses sliced either first thing in the morning or after the slicers...
  25. Are they actually Dollar Tree brand (is there even a DT brand?) or some other brand? Candy canes are pretty much universally gluten-free but I certainly can't guarantee that every single kind is. richard
