  1. Iodine can be a problem for people who have celiac and DH -- but not for folks who have celiac without the DH. The iodine keeps the blisters coming back longer. Generally, those people can consume iodine again after being gluten-free for a number of months. Your crab reaction sounds like you might be allergic to shellfish. richard
  2. Here is a list from last year. As you can see, a large percentage of candy is actually gluten-free. There hasn't been an update this year. Open Original Shared Link richard
  3. sbj, I generally avoid stuff that goes on my skin that has gluten simply because you can never be sure whether or how it might end up in your mouth. Everything I have read about gluten says the molecules are simply too large to be absorbed through the skin, and the major celiac experts agree. We all know of some things that ARE absorbed through the...
  4. It wasn't soaking through your scalp. Shampoo doesn't do that and neither does gluten. You were accidentally getting some in your mouth. richard
  5. "Wondered that if a bee pollinates wheat and then stings someone if that can cause a gluten reaction." I can't imagine it could. In fact, I'm not sure that bees pollinate wheat at all. I think its wind pollinated. richard
  6. Where did you read it? There's at least one old piece that has outrageous untrue stuff. I'm not saying there aren't negatives, but there's also some pretty wild things out there. richard
  7. I've never seen any real plain crab that has gluten. richard
  8. "I want to see a link, just as you are always telling us! You need to prove your points too." Where's the link? Why, it's at Kraft's consumer alert page! Imagine that! Open Original Shared Link Now, let's take a look at the story you provided. "The test results raise the number of known melamine-tainted food products imported to South Korea from...
  9. I go to I-Hop at less busy time and have the fresh egg omelet -- not their omelet mix, which has pancake batter in it. No problem. richard
  10. Naked chicken wings with Frank's Hot sauce. Steamed shrimp. richard
  11. There is NO Kraft list. There hasn't been for many, many, many years. Any "list" would be at last 7 years old, maybe a decade. It's very simple. Read the ingredients. No wheat, rye or barley, it's gluten-free. Wheat, rye or barley is listed, it's not gluten-free. Kraft was one of the first to do this and one of the first to regularly list allergens. ...
  12. gluten-free. It's Kraft. Kraft will clearly list any gluten. richard
  13. I understand the frustration but don't see how you got glutened. Move the dish and wipe off the area. Sniffing the crumbs would not cause a gluten reaction. richard
  14. The only things that really work on DH are dapsone and some sort of sulfa drug that I can't name. Steroids don't work and are more dangerous to take anyway. Dapsone has some scary warnings but the most severe reactions are very rare and extremely easy to monitor for (normally you'd go in a few times for a liver panel and blood cell count). Once the complication...
  15. I must agree that if you make a blanket statement about products like wine, coffee and teas that are almost certainly gluten-free, you really HAVE to provide evidence or a contact. richard
  16. "Has anyone had a problem with the Parrot Bay flavored drinks? Is it the malt that makes it not gluten free? Apologies for my ignorance." Any alcohol that's malted is NOT gluten-free. Is Parrot Bay malted?
  17. Never heard of a coffee filter that wasn't gluten-free. richard
  18. They probably are gluten-free (I don't know this for certain), but call the company. richard
  19. Last time I looked Coke listed two Powerade flavors as definitely gluten-free and did the CYA dance on the others. None of the Powerades are SUPPOSED to have gluten, though. Last time I looked, peanut M&Ms were gluten-free. richard
  20. Oops, I wasn't paying close attention. I was talking about glutenfreedrugs.com, not glutenfreemeds.com. Yes, glutenfreemeds obviously is not actually being taken care of by anybody. However, Nasonex is listed as gluten-free at glutenfreedrugs as well. richard
  21. I was unaware that Plogsted has stopped taking care of it.
  22. At least as of recently that site was maintained by a pharmacist named Steve Plogsted. So where did you get your information about nobody checked anything?
  23. In 7 years I've never found a butter that contains gluten. But, as always, check the ingredients. richard
  24. I use it with no problem. richard
  25. I know there's a connection here in that somebody with celiac thinks they've found the cause of continuing health problems, but I really question whether we want to be promoting/debating a class-action lawsuit about a mattress and mold. It sounds like there could be a true problem with these mattresses, but lawyers who make a living off class-action lawsuits...
