Anyone want to join me??

Ooooh....I got some other words I'd like to put on my bag....random words that have nothing to do with illness.

miamia Rookie
Cissie maybe you just need to reload your page like Patti said.

Julie, Celia and Rachel--Thanks for your input! I'm drinking nothing but the Poland Spring like I did back at the beginning of all this and see if it makes a difference that will last. I've been going out of my mind trying to figure out why I keep getting sick. I've been joking that pretty soon I'll be down to a vitamin pill and water! (and now the water is suspect  ) Thanks for being there guys! :)

Celia--are you going to try the theory out too?

Awesome!

I hope you do well!! We can share our successes. See I'm being optimistic for both of us. ;)

Did the guy say anything different about the Keto than what I posted previously...or just basically the same? Did he tell you any success stories? I wanna hear it all. :P

LOL....Jersey you can put the word "water" all over your punching bag!

No problem... I just dumped out the glass of water I was drinking just a few minutes ago.... no more crap water for me... just the good stuff :D

You go girl! I always get excited when I think I've figured out another piece of the puzzle. Hope it's helpful for us both! ;) We seem to have a lot of stuff in common :P

( sorry to add a sad note to the fun-ness of the sleepover Rachel)

leaving the slumber party, off to take a giant pot of spaghetti to my brother's now....

The good thing about this post, as serious as it can be, there is always something so funny and encouraging here, and I laugh every time I read it!

Grrrrr......what I wouldn't do for rain (I am a freak and love rain and fog, now why did I leave Monterey again?) It's the high one-hundred-and-TENS here after weeks of.......high nineties and ONE HUNDREDS......I am bloody sick of it and just have to pray like heck we don't have a brownout, as we did last month

Susan....nooooo..."rain rain go away".... Do you know that song? I soooo love the heat. Rain sometimes makes me sad. Unless I have someone to cuddle with and I could drink hot cocoa with marshmallows. But I dont...and I cant.....soooo rain rain go away. :P

Rachel-

he told me alot of the same stuff. But he did say healing time is different for everyone- in some cases people with worse damage healed faster than people with less. He was just so nice we started talking about the things we like to cook ansd the dangers of eating out. He was just really personable- and so confident it would owrk- it was very contagious I got off the phone with him thinking of course this is the answer.

Yeah....he is very personable and so up to date on all this stuff. I could have talked to him for a long time...well I did...but I could have just kept talking all day. I felt great after we hung up. Thats why I wish I could call him everyday that I feel bad....his words were just so reassuring.

Yeah calling him on bad days would be a good idea- yesturday I had a terrible day!!! bad brain fog really bad pain- what I call "candida bloat" And after I talked to him I was happy despite all of this. He told me to call him in one or two weeks to let him know how I react, but maybe I'll call him just to cheer me up on bad days- thats a good idea!!!

Hang in there Susan. I know it's hard but each day gets better and each day we get stronger. :)

We are here to celebrate and comfort...don't worry about crashing the party...it won't happen.

Patti and Celia,

Aquafina is good brand. I watched a show a few years back that tested the bottled water. There were only 3 or 4 that were good. I had to email the person who hostess of the show and ask her if she remembered which ones they were. She remembered aquafina because it is what she drinks. She said a lot of the expensive waters were worse than aquafina.

Yes, it's filtered. There's a filter right in the fridge. I changed it when the indicator light came on. Don't think it's CC. Maybe you would know this Vincent--I think those filters have charcoal in them--there wouldn't be wheat in that like there is in cooking charcoal--would there?

Gosh, its possible, and heck it might explain why on days my son gets more water his stools are much looser and more often then on days that he dont. I better look in to this too. :(

What do you all think? Am I grasping at straws?

evie Rookie

[Celia--I know what you mean.

I was doing fine. About that time, we bought a new refrigerator with filtered water thru the door. Before that, I had been drinking only Poland Spring water. I don't know if it was a coincidance, but that is about when my symptoms came back and I began the elimination diets.

Miamia,

Keep us posted as to how the med works for you.

You and Rachel be sure to let that super nice guy get some work done. :P That kind of personal attention is sure nice though isn't it. :D

Vincent-we had a short discussion about water on the thread for Megan/TCA/Tanya- Zack, my youngest, has had a problem with water with chlorine or fluoride all his life. There were a number of interesting posts on that thread from others regarding water. It is scary some of the things we ingest unknowingly. btw--great news about the adoption. I wish I could adopt, but at 45, I don't think it is something I can do. Hubby is 57, so I think we are just going to wait for grandkids.

Who was it, evie? 60 YEARS!!! THAT ANNIVERSARY IS AMAZING AND WONDERFUL!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Susan-Dingo-girl--It does get easier--I will pray for a gorgeous, rich, sexy, kind, loving man from Monterey to come into your life and sweep you off your feet. Everyone join in and focus on that for Susan and maybe our combined prayers and good vibes will get things rolling so Susan will someday say, Robert-? who?

All of you are so gorgeous, I will probably put up a picture of my dog for my avatar if I ever figure out how to do it!!!!!

Thank you guys for the info on quinoa--I still am having some serious bouts of D periodically and was thinking of trying quinoa-so thanks for saving me from THAT misery.

Andrea, I tried the Irish oats that were supposed to be safe and had a bad time of it. I hope you can eat it, but heads up on that. Rachel, I have had 5 laparascopy (sp?) surgeries and they are not fun, but they are about the only way to really know what is what with the ovaries. I hope you don't have to have one, but you are under anesthetic for the procedure. They cut in the belly button so the scars are pretty invisible.

I totally get what you're talking about Rachel.....that is the best thing of all to do on a rainy day! I love rain any time, EXCEPT when the dogs get cabin fever and need a walk - -

And it would be SO nice to have a cool rain right about now..... :( If you like heat, just head on down to the good ol' Central Valley right now - - but I don't know if you'd like it so much!

I don't think I should post any more this evening.....somehow I've been glutened, and I can't figure it out, the only NEW thing yesterday was Arborio rice but not a new package - - might have had anti-caking something-or-other....but, when my thinking becomes this dark, something is definitely wrong, and I think I will call it a day and just head to bed with my book.

Rachel, I keep picturing your jumping intestines.....wouldn't you be able to FEEL them if they were doing that? I mean, sounds like that would produce intense cramping, and I can't remember if you were feeling the cramping during the exam or not - I know there was intense pain when she pressed on your ovary area - -

DO YOU THINK THERE"S AN ALIEN IN THERE??

;););) and please note - - not making light of your situation - - just a little levity here, that's all. Can't imagine how frustrated you must be with all of this and what your little body is continually going through. Adding you to my prayers before bed.

Um, who is this guy that y ou're calling - what page is he on - I want to call him too and feel better....:rolleyes:

I heard the Europeans say they would NEVER drink the disgusting tap water. Hmmm. gfp, are you on? You live in France...Any comments?

We will need to PM him - - - this thread is just a little intimidating and long to jump in the middle of  esp. for a guy as it's such an estrogen-fest!

Good thing we have Picard and Vincent - - am I missing anybody else??

THANK YOU for that Robbin, so precious...and BTW 45 is not too old to adopt! Neither is 57! But...I will add to that prayer and say may we ALL have the peace, joy and love we so richly deserve...

Andrea, I tried the Irish oats that were supposed to be safe and had a bad time of it. I hope you can eat it, but heads up on that.

I ordered some from Gluten Free Oats, two pounds for about $16, and am ecstatic to report, NO problems at all, might you consider trying that? I really missed my oats and am so relieved.

Dang, this thing about the water is starting to concern me ....have had D for the last three or four days, not normal for me as I am very careful, and I MIX tap water with bottled.....I never thought of this! Must thank all of you for the thoughtful and varied posts on here - - we learn so much, don't we?

G'night John-Boy....'night Mary Ellen......'night Ma.....

Good night and sweet dreams to all of you.

:)

@DebJ14, You said "husband has low platelets, bruises easily and gets bloody noses just from Fish Oil  He suggested he take Black Cumin Seed Oil for inflammation.  He discovered that by taking the Black Seed oil, he can eat carbs and not go into A Fib, since it does such a good job of reducing inflammation."   I don't think black seed oil is lowering inflammation.  It's lowering blood glucose levels. Black cumin seed lowers blood glucose levels.  There's a connection between high blood glucose levels and Afib.    Has your husband been checked for diabetes?   Must Read: Associations of high-normal blood pressure and impaired fasting glucose with atrial fibrillation https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36750354/

Healthy Omega Three fats.  Olive oil or flaxseed oil, oily fish, fatty cuts of meat.   Our bodies run much better on burning fats as fuel.  Diets based on carbohydrates require an increased amount of thiamine to process the carbs into fuel for the body.  Unfortunately, thiamine mononitrate is used to enrich rice.  Thiamine mononitrate is relatively unusable in the body.  So a high carb diet can further decrease thiamine stores in the body.  Insufficient thiamine in the body causes the body to burn body fat and muscle for fuel, so weight loss and muscle wasting occurs.  Those extra carbohydrates can lead to Candida (often confused with mold toxicity) and SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).   Losing weight quickly is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.  Muscle wasting is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.  I lost sixty pounds in a month.   Having difficulty putting weight on and keeping it on is a symptom of thiamine insufficiency.   The AIP diet works because it eliminates all grains and grasses, rice, quinoa, all the carbs.  Without the carbs, the Candida and SIBO get starved and die off.  Easy way to change your microbiome is to change what you feed it.  With the rowdy neighbors gone, the intestine can heal and absorb more nutrients.   Supplementing with essential vitamins and minerals is beneficial.  Talk to your doctor and nutritionist.  Benfotiamine is a form of thiamine that promotes intestinal healing.  The eight B vitamins are water soluble, so if you don't need them, they can be gotten rid of easily.   Night shades are excluded on the AIP diet.  Potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are not allowed on the AIP diet.  They contain alkaloids that promote "a leaky gut".  Benfotiamine can help here. Sweet potatoes are avoided because they contain thiaminases, chemicals that break thiamine so that the body cannot use it.   The AIP diet has helped me.

The reaction one gets when they get glutened varies a lot from person to person.  This article has some detailed information on how to be 100% gluten-free, so it may be helpful (be sure to also read the comments section.):
    • Theresa2407
A gluten ingestion can last for many months.  Many years ago there was a celiac conference in Fl.  Everyone there got contaminated with some having difficulty 6 months to recover.  It will hit your Lympatic system and spread  through the body and effect your nevous system as well. Most times when I get glutened it is from a prescription med that wasn't checked close enough.  the Pharmacuticals change vendors all the time.
