Any enzymes you take for hypercoagulation should definately be taken away from food....otherwise they will be used to digest your food rather than breaking down fibrin.

So, this topic might need more research to be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure whole wheat isn't generally bleached.

Thanks!

Sheeesh....why does it have to be so difficult just to find out whats in our food! It shouldnt require hours of research trying to decipher the ingredient list! WTH!

I usually eat Ezekiel Bread .... it's sprouted grains that are supposed to be both healthier and easier to digest ... no bleached flour (no flour at all).

Hmmm...I never did well on any type of sprouted grain. I'll have to check the ingredients next time and maybe try again....but I dont think I tolerate it.

Ok, I am going to try this again with the mangosteen juice links:

Thanks Donna for the directing me to the tiny url website, that's kind of a cool little thing!

Sounds like you had a great appt. I'm sure you are thrilled to finally be addressing some of those issues that you were forever waiting to get to :D .

Did you ask them about the breast pain?? I'm going to keep bugging you about that

Rachel, it's good to see you posting again, it seems you have been MIA for a while  .

I can't remember everything I learned about wheat definitions in labeling, but one thing I do know from my nutrition studies is that the labeling laws/regulations are kind of lax when it comes to wheat in general (non-gluten issues) and the wordage used on ingredient labels.

At least they were, and I don't know if it has since changed, but a food can be labeled "wheat flour" even if the ingredients are enriched or bleached white flours, so sometimes you might not know what you are getting

I got my supplements Sat that will address my mineral analysis results, it's a boat load of supplements  I'm going to have to adjust to taking so many things again, I kind of got used to the bare minimum <_<

Oh, and I forgot something else that was interesting. My energy was pretty good yesterday UNTIL I started touching the vials. She said that as soon as I started touching the vials my energy started dropping. Her next comment was "your body does not like this at all"!

That's strange Donna how you mentioned that. <_< When I went to Dr. M. he had me hold these small perfume sample type vials as well. I had this one vial in my hand and started to feel real nauseated. I asked him why and he said that he was testing me on the flowers and that I shouldn't feel that way.

He then said if I am feeling sick the reason could be that I was holding a toxin in my hand. :o

He says many people can experience feeling sick just by touching things and that many people who are highly toxic cant wear watches because they break. Strange I know.

Sometimes when I start to clean my pans I cook with, yeah my energy goes low and I start to feel a bit depressed. I can touch things and feel depressed.

In the last year our heater went out, frige, washing machine, batteries in remote control, dryer, heater in fire place, batteries in the cars, garage door opener. All in one year. I don't know maybe it's just coincidence or energy or my toxins.

I have taken a long break from this board, but I think I am FINALLY making some progress.

At the urging of my GI who suspected IBS (in addition to the celiac disease) a month ago I started a non-therapeutic does of an anti-depressant.

The last two weeks were amazing! One bm a day instead of 8. Some abdomen pain, but it wasn't constant and I had ENERGY.

The downside is I got all of the side affects, and had to stop taking it a few days ago.

I have spent the past 48 hours very sick, migraines and running back and forth to the bathroom.

So while things are not great, and it does mean its going to be a while to find an rx that is going to work, at least the field has been narrowed.

There is hope out there!

I am SO UPSET right now! I have been racking my brain trying to figure out my daughters bone pain problem and where to go, what to do next. I read that mold can cause the body to "throw" iron. So, I thought I would start checking around at her school & home - maybe get some mold plates.

So, Today I am cleaning out my closet and it smelled kind of musty. My closets have NEVER smelled musty in the 7 years I have lived here. SO, I was thinking to myself - something is up......there has to be a water leak or something going on somewhere - maybe in the attic.

So, I decided to inspect my hubby's side of the basement where he has his wood shop. I HATE the fact that its in our basement so I avoid it at all cost. There is MOLD growing on the WALL!! In PLAIN SIGHT! I cannot believe him! There are lots of bad words going through my head right now because he KNOWS how i have been talking about mold considering my fungal issues and the mold that we found in the living room 4 years ago. I even told him I was going to see if I could put mold plates out at her school.

The mold is growing on the wall and there is wood dust on it and it makes it look brown. So, I think its VERY dark in color underneath. Maybe black.

Then, he takes the wet rag that he cleans the glue off (he builds custom doors) and he wrings it out on the floor. So a huge probably 6 x 6 spot on the concrete floor is black slick kind of gunk that who knows what it outgases.

I am so freakin' pissed at him! He is so clueless sometimes.

He is one of those that say " everyone has lead in their bodies, April". And I say, what does that have to do with anything. Everyone is different in how they handle toxins. It doesn't change the facts. UGH!

:o

Donna....didnt you have this problem with wearing watches?? I cant recall if you were breaking the watches or just draining the batteries?? Either way...it cant be good.

I wonder if I'd have the same problem....it wouldnt surprise me but I dont wear watches so I have no idea. I guess if I do decide to wear one I should start with an inexpensive one....just in case it self-destructs. ;)

Rachel--24 Collaborator

Awww April....I'd be so upset too!!

Thats really frusterating...I know you've been dealing with alot of different problems with the shop in the basement. :(

It sounds like your hubby just really doesnt understand that once we've reached our capacity for toxins these things can have a huge impact on the immune system. There can be very noticeable symptoms from exposure compared to someone (like him) who has not become ill.

Hopefully you guys can get this sorted out and cleaned up soon.

April, !!!

Hmmm...I never did well on any type of sprouted grain. I'll have to check the ingredients next time and maybe try again....but I dont think I tolerate it.

Ezekiel bread has soy, is that a problem for you? Or lentils? It seems to settle very well with me.

I remember some old conversations where we discussed the toxins in wheat and joked that if we ever at wheat again, it would only be "white" and unbleached! LOL Too many toxins in the whole wheat. I don't seem to have a problem with any of it.

that many people who are highly toxic cant wear watches because they break.

Someone here had that .... was it Donna?

I couldn't wear my watch at all when I was really sick. This might not sound strange, but I bought my watch in 1982 and wore it 24/7 till I got married, then I wore it every day, all day, but not at night. I should start wearing it again .... I have and it doesn't bother me, I'm just not used to putting it on anymore.

I made a post on LN about air hunger, but I'll tell you about it, too. I'm having air hunger, but no other symptoms, even my insomnia is getting better.

My first thought is, of course, babesia, but I have no other symptoms.

I've read that thyroid can be involved with shortness of breath, and we have been switching around my thyroid meds.

Someone on LN said her air hunger was linked with POTS, but I think I feel too good overall to have that. But, considering heparin is prescribed for POTS, do you think the serrapeptase could be contributing to the air hunger?

I talk to my PA on Tues., so it'd be great to have some more opinions before then. :)

You're welcome...I learned about that site on LN where if you post a really long link it makes the spacing weird for the whole thread.

Yeah, it was me who drains batteries. I gave up wearing regular watches completely, and now if I wear one I have to have a solar watch. I kind of have weird things with cell phones too. :P

I have taken a long break from this board, but I think I am FINALLY making some progress.

Wow, great to hear you are making some progress!!

Yeah, it was me...drain the stupid things so fast I just gave up wearing them. It didn't USE to be that way. I have a beautiful watch (that was kind of expensive) that has interchangeable face plates...really nice. I used to be able to wear that, but at some point I started draining the batteries and it got to be too much hassle to have it replaced so often.

Someone on LN said her air hunger was linked with POTS, but I think I feel too good overall to have that. But, considering heparin is prescribed for POTS, do you think the serrapeptase could be contributing to the air hunger?

We'll see, lol. I took my first one this morning and I'll be taking my second one before bed. I supposedly have babs too. I also thought at one point that I had POTS...I definitely fit some of the symptoms back then, but not all--don't even remember what the symptoms are anymore, lol.

Julie,

Sorry, forgot to answer the part about the breast pain  I completely forgot to mention it. They looked so :o when I mentioned the weird cells in my ampulla biopsies, that I completely lost myself.

I'll ask Dr. S tomorrow.

Very frustrating indeed April. I think it's pretty safe to say your house has a mold issue :(

I had a thought, have you looked into ozone generators/machines? Has anybody else here?

I am rusty on the info and research, but if I recall correctly they are effective for killing molds and bacterias.

No insight to give here Carla, as I am just getting in to all of this.

I'd be interested to hear what all you find out about it, and if there is a thyroid connection.

Thanks for that comment on the ozone - I am researching them now. They do seem to kill mold spores, but do they filter the air as well? Dead spores can be highly toxic as well. Gotta get back to researching!

CarlaB Enthusiast

We have one of those ozone air fresheners .... we've had it for so long, I don't remember what all it does.

April,

That's infuriating! A HEPA filter would help with eliminating the mold spores, not sure how expensive it would be, though.

Hi! Just wanted to post an update.

Seeing the holistic MD today to go over the stool and hormone tests, as well as my current iron, vit D and B12 results. Should be interesting, if nothing else. I want to talk to her about the lyme and see if she's willing to work in concert with the LLMD. Also going to ask her about ART over at the Clymer center (a sister clinic to the one I go to). Will post tonight about the appt.

Also seeing the GI on wed, but not really sure why. This is the same guy who wouldn't return my calls after I ended up in the ER back in Dec. Looking back on it now, I think it was probably a flare. Weak, shaky, body temp of 95.5, cold sweats. The abdominal pain was an added bonus. Still, he should have returned my calls.

I'm all tingly these days! Both arms and legs, including feet and hands. Its also occasionally hitting the left side of my head and even my tongue. Funky! Seems to be worse at night when I try to get to sleep.

-----------------

I haven't worn a watch in years. Refer to myself as chronometer-impaired. No really. I just don't like clocks, watches, or anything else that dictates what I should be doing at that point based on a society-imposed construct. "You're not the boss of me!". :D Yeah, I'm nuts.

Oddly enough, I seem to charge batteries. Its handy for the remote. Can usually get a couple of extra weeks to a few months out of the batteries if I hold them in my hands for 2-3 minutes. Go figure.

re: Bread - something else to watch out for is bromide. It takes the place of iodine in the thyroid and can cause additional problems. The stuff's toxic, I tells ya! Its in the same family of halides as fluoride and chlorine, which are both thyroid no-nos.

--------------

April,

Yeesh! I'd be livid! Its not only your health but your daughter's! Maybe use that as a point and maybe he'll get it.

Jin,

re: Mirror test. Its not your pupils closing quickly. But rather, if they try to open again once they've constricted. Mine look like they're singing. oOoOoOoOo like that.

Hey all-

I have not been posting much. Julie- i owe you a PM.

I am gearing up for a crazy few days - today I ahve an appt. With my old doctor- the one who recomended me to the one i have now. I actually am looking forward to this in a way. I have always really liked this doctor and really considering hom the most knowledgable of all the ones I have seen.

Tomorrow I have chelation and colon therapy and than wednesday I have an appointment with the gastro who did my colonoscopy.

I am supposed to also go in one day this week for some random blood work but after these appointents i think i need to give myself a break and put those off till next week.

I am waiting for my mineral test to come back from doctors data. They should be in already so i am hoping i will be able to get my hands on them today. If i do i will post the results.

rachel-

you are really making me want to try gluten!! but i don't know I ahd shown severe intolerance to it an di ahve not had any(at least not on purpose in years) It would be an interesting experiment.

Ok I will post more later

miamia Rookie

Kassandra-

by the way i love your picture!!! You are the prettiest thing!!!

Hi @Dizzyma I note what @trents has commented about you possibly posting from the UK.  Just to let you know that am a coeliac based in the UK, so if that is the case, do let me know if can help you with any questions on the NHS provision for coeliacs.    If you are indeed based in the UK, and coeliac disease is confirmed, I would thoroughly recommend you join Coeliac UK, as they provide a printed food and drink guide and also a phone app which you can take shopping with you so you can find out if a product is gluten free or not. But one thing I would like to say to you, no matter where you live, is you mention that your daughter is anxious.  I was always a bit of a nervous, anxious child but before my diagnosis in mid-life my anxiety levels were through the roof.   My anxiety got steadily better when I followed the gluten-free diet and vitamin and mineral deficiencies were addressed.  Anxiety is very common at diagnosis, you may well find that her anxiety will improve once your daughter follows a strict gluten-free diet. Cristiana

Welcome to the celic.com community @Dizzyma! I'm assuming you are in the U.K. since you speak of your daughter's celiac disease blood tests as "her bloods".  Has her physician officially diagnosed her has having celiac disease on the results of her blood tests alone? Normally, if the ttg-iga blood test results are positive, a follow-up endoscopy with biopsy of the small bowel lining to check for damage would be ordered to confirm the results of "the bloods". However if the ttg-iga test score is 10x normal or greater, some physicians, particularly in the U.K., will dispense with the endoscopy/biopsy. If there is to be an endoscopy/biopsy, your daughter should not yet begin the gluten free diet as doing so would allow healing of the small bowel lining to commence which may result in a biopsy finding having results that conflict with the blood work. Do you know if an endoscopy/biopsy is planned? Celiac disease can have onset at any stage of life, from infancy to old age. It has a genetic base but the genes remain dormant until and unless triggered by some stress event. The stress event can be many things but it is often a viral infection. About 40% of the general population have the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. So, for most, the genes remain dormant.  Celiac disease is by nature an autoimmune disorder. That is to say, gluten ingestion triggers an immune response that causes the body to attack its own tissues. In this case, the attack happens in he lining of the small bowel, at least classically, though we now know there are other body systems that can sometimes be affected. So, for a person with celiac disease, when they ingest gluten, the body sends attacking cells to battle the gluten which causes inflammation as the gluten is being absorbed into the cells that make up the lining of the small bowel. This causes damage to the cells and over time, wears them down. This lining is composed of billions of tiny finger-like projections and which creates a tremendous surface area for absorbing nutrients from the food we eat. This area of the intestinal track is where all of our nutrition is absorbed. As these finger-like projections get worn down by the constant inflammation from continued gluten consumption before diagnosis (or after diagnosis in the case of those who are noncompliant) the efficiency of nutrient absorption from what we eat can be drastically reduced. This is why iron deficiency anemia and other nutrient deficiency related medical problems are so common in the celiac population. So, to answer your question about the wisdom of allowing your daughter to consume gluten on a limited basis to retain some tolerance to it, that would not be a sound approach because it would prevent healing of the lining of her small bowel. It would keep the fires of inflammation smoldering. The only wise course is strict adherence to a gluten free diet, once all tests to confirm celiac disease are complete.

Hi all, I have so many questions and feel like google is giving me very different information. Hoping I may get some more definite answers here. ok, my daughter has been diagnosed as a coeliac as her bloods show anti TTG antibodies are over 128. We have started her  on a full gluten free diet. my concerns are that she wasn’t actually physically sick on her regular diet, she had tummy issues and skin sores. My fear is that she will build up a complete intolerance to gluten and become physically sick if she has gluten. Is there anything to be said for keeping a small bit of gluten in the diet to stop her from developing a total intolerance?  also, she would be an anxious type of person, is it possible that stress is the reason she has become coeliac? I read that diagnosis later in childhood could be following a sickness or stress. How can she have been fine for the first 10 years and then become coeliac? sorry, I’m just very confused and really want to do right by her. I know a coeliac and she has a terrible time after she gets gluttened so just want to make sure going down a total gluten free road is the right choice. thank you for any help or advise xx
