Bev!! I missed you video post, somehow. Must go back....

Tom!! Missed your First Official Proclamation, as well. Um.....do all subjects need to be partaking in the Magic Phairie to partake in the ceremony? As token alehouse slattern, I suppose I should be pressing for this...this is kind of what we do. Like, all day....

Perhaps I'll wear green.......

Really, no need.

You've put me in my place.

I was referring to The Jazz Singer the movie.

:(

I'm admittedly overly defensive about my jazz, and figured you were probably referring to the movie.

Seeing your response comfirms to me that I wrote too much just in mentioning what I WOULDN'T write!!:)

Please accept my apologies.

(Am I over-reacting to the "put me in my place"? Or was that to nasty Emily? )

BEV!!!!

I'm starting to wonder if your Sympathy post got dingo'd er somefin

(Squats may need an explanation of the verb)

[EDIT: OOPS!!!!! My bad .. .there it is ...

Jack just told me that he had been thinking about his question, and has now decided that he would ABSOLUTELY take the million bucks and spend life in green. Hell, he's an eleven-year old boy, he has no idea...Head to toe green, ALL DAY EVERY DAY, TILL DEATH? Gawd........

Tom!! Missed your First Official Proclamation, as well.

I was starting to feel like I got Bev'd on that one. <_<

I always feel it's a good brain day when I can acronymize something like FAERIE (First Absinthe-Enlightened Royal Inaugural Event)

Um.....do all subjects need to be partaking in the Magic Phairie to partake in the ceremony?

Hmm that sounds awfully discriminatory and there won't be any of that in idyllic Sillyville!!!!!

BUT!!!! Someday, when we all meet up, there WILL be Phaerie in the aeir.

As token alehouse slattern, I suppose I should be pressing for this...this is kind of what we do. Like, all day....

Oooppppsss . . . Sorry Bev . . . Thanks for reposting . . . :lol::lol::lol: . . . it was worth it.

Do you realize that was like 5 pages ago? We've had a really busy day here on this thread and we've already used up 5 pages of tom's reign.

Darn210 Enthusiast

Sarah!!!! It's good to see you on the board again . . . I'm sure you've noticed that ptaum has taken over. What's the pension for a retired Queen?

As Heidi Klum says

One day you're in . . . The next day you're OUT!!!

Hi Sarah :D

Ridgewalker Contributor

Hey Janet and Patti. :D Yeah, I saw that Tom has the crown... hopefully his reign will be healthier than mine was!

As for the million dollar question... As it was put, there seems to be no restriction on shades of green, so I say Yes, I would absolutely wear green for the rest of my life for a million dollars.

(That's a million, tax free, right?)

psawyer Proficient

Sarah, it is good to see you here again. Mayberry MUST be represented in Sillyville.

Apparently, I am the elder in Sillyville, at the ripe age of 53. Gawd, some of the sillies are young enough that I could be their father. Go figure. :o

Tomorrow is Wednesday. For those of you that remember, it means another delivery to the store. Last week was a nightmare, with a driver who smashed the truck into the building. Many messages back and forth to the honcho in charge of trucking, but I don't know if the problem is solved. I hope things go well. I'll be out of here early in the morning. Might even get to post before Emily or Amanda. :D

In this country, ain't nuthin' tax free.........

Lottery and gambling winnings are tax free in Canada (pretty much the only thing the US taxes but we don't!) so we might be able to make it into a tax free million. Depends, I guess on whether Jack sees it as something being won or just a choice that one is making.

jerseyangel Proficient

So funny--I asked Mark "the question" last night and the first thing he said was--would it be tax free? :D

He said if that was the case, he would--and I think I would, too.

An older gentleman was on the operating table

awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son,

a renowned surgeon, perform the operation.

As he was about to get the anesthesia

he asked to speak to his son.

"Yes, Dad, what is it?"

"Don't be nervous, son;

do your best and just remember, if i t doesn't go well,

if something happens to me, your mother is going to come

and live with you and your wife...."

Mtndog Collaborator

Hi Sarah!!!!!!! Alex- I love your new avatar!

OK- so ONE MILLION dollars for wearing ONLY green for the rest of your life? Hmmmm.....even underwear??????? Does it have to be a recognizable green? How about blue green?

OK- I'm in...tax-free ONLY!!!!!!!!!!

I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉
    • Rejoicephd
That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.

While plain, pure tea leaves (black, green, or white) are naturally gluten-free, the issue often lies not with the tea itself but with other ingredients or processing. Many flavored teas use barley malt or other gluten-containing grains as a flavoring agent, which would be clearly listed on the ingredient label. Cross-contamination is another possibility, either in the facility where the tea is processed or, surprisingly, from the tea bag material itself—some tea bags are sealed with a wheat-based glue. Furthermore, it's important to consider that your reaction could be to other substances in tea, such as high levels of tannins, which can be hard on the stomach, or to natural histamines or other compounds that can cause a non-celiac immune response. The best way to investigate is to carefully read labels for hidden ingredients, try switching to a certified gluten-free tea brand that uses whole leaf or pyramid-style bags, and see if the reaction persists.

This is a challenging and confusing situation. The combination of a positive EMA—which is a highly specific marker rarely yielding false positives—alongside strongly elevated TTG on two separate occasions, years apart, is profoundly suggestive of celiac disease, even in the absence of biopsy damage. This pattern strongly aligns with what is known as "potential celiac disease," where the immune system is clearly activated, but intestinal damage has not yet become visible under the microscope. Your concern about the long-term risk of continued gluten consumption is valid, especially given your family's experience with the consequences of delayed diagnosis. Since your daughter is now at an age where her buy-in is essential for a gluten-free lifestyle, obtaining a definitive answer is crucial for her long-term adherence and health. Given that she is asymptomatic yet serologically positive, a third biopsy now, after a proper 12-week challenge, offers the best chance to capture any microscopic damage that may have developed, providing the concrete evidence needed to justify the dietary change. This isn't about wanting her to have celiac; it's about wanting to prevent the insidious damage that can occur while waiting for symptoms to appear, and ultimately giving her the unambiguous "why" she needs to accept and commit to the necessary treatment. This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease. One test that always needs to be done is the IgA Levels/Deficiency Test (often called "Total IGA") because some people are naturally IGA deficient, and if this is the case, then certain blood tests for celiac disease might be false-negative, and other types of tests need to be done to make an accurate diagnosis. The article includes the "Mayo Clinic Protocol," which is the best overall protocol for results to be ~98% accurate.
