Then it would be the gluten-free Gert.

Rid yourself of GERD with the gluten-free GERT. Hey--we may have something here....ya know, for Celiac awareness :D

PTAOUGHMN!!

Where ya been?! :):)

Yeah, how are you doing? :)

Hallo Sillies- As if I wasn't upset enough already about being demoderatorized :P<_< today just plain STUNK like a glutened celiac fart in a Dutch oven!!!!!!!!!!

Scott's message to me about this implies that if you are still active and want to be reinstated you can send him a message (PM?) and he will likely reactivate you.

Yes he can "reactivate" me but I have chosen no to cuz I'm scared. You wouldn't believe what I had to do to get activated :P:lol:

Had to be up and about early--my cutie-patootie plumber was here already....we sprung a small leak under the sink that he replaced in February. Turned out to be a defective seal, so he phixed it for phree. Woo-Hoo! :D

Ooohhhh...I could have used him today a cutie-patootie plumber!!!!!!!!!!!! Details to come.

One can use moderator "privileges" to do certain things? This could, surely, lead to abuse of one's position. Does one get forum lunches and company vehicles? What else, exactly, does the moderator status allow one to do besides read and post?....

Does a moderator get more emoticons? larger quotation quotas? Immunity from the "report" button? Hmmmmmm, what is going on?...... We little, ordinary members need to investigate all this.....

I did get busted at the moderator weekend in palm Springs this year for trying to bring the yeti into the hot tub ;)

I have thought about relocating to Arizona, my body would be a happy camper in the hot and dry there.

At least from November- April....Scottsdale or Sedona!

OK- I want some hugs here (no hubby to say "Oh, poor Bevvy" so you guys have to pitch in. I woke up this morning to a PICC line that sprayed out everything I tried to put into it (no alcohol-just sterile stuff). Not good :( . So I call my doc and he sys "No prob, they can be repaired" but will anyone up HERE repair one? NOOOOOOOOO. So into the hospital I go to have the old one removed and a new one put in. Just what I had planned on doing with my day.

POOPY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( HARUMPH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Say that you are performing quite well at work, considering the amount of time you spend on an online celiac forum, pondering questions about wearing green, eating poop and tactics for avoiding jury duty.

You have two professional goals: To avoid completely the office pain-in-the-@ss that you've mentioned here, and....what else....oh, and to make more time to speak to your online friends.

There, that should cover it.

 yes - but what about greater efficiency in making pressing decisions? such as - forehead rump vs. dangling chin feet or cleats vs. suction cups?

Thanks for all the suggestions Sillies! My goal is to spend more time in the Vortex.....I feel as if I have been neglecting my duties here! ;) Guess my boss wont want to hear that though?

 who cares? who cares whatcher boss wants? IT"S YOUR SILLIES WHO MATTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG - Kissey will be getting here at about 1 a.m. if all goes as planned, I will have been asleep for over two hours by then... dingo girl doesn't do so well without sleep.....I'm hoping he'll slip in unnoticed, and I can slumber away....................but unlikely.

TOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have missed you...........

Hi all ... .just unreasonably depressed again but coming out of it I think.

Finished the humaworm yesterday. Nothing noteworthy came of that. Early on, it seemed to knock 10 or 20% off my goodness scale, so hopefully I get that back tomorrow.

And I'm 7 pages behind!!!!!!!!

Jury Duty! Ack! I only got called while living at the condo - longest term of residence for me so I'm thinking that's not a coincidence.

Figured I'd say "well, he wouldn't BE here if he wasn't guilty!" to get out of it. (Yes .. ..default defendant is male)

But, then considering that the notice didn't arrive by registered mail, I'd just toss 'em, knowing no one could prove I ever saw it.

3x I think.

BTW, some time after all that, my sister worked w/ the Clackamas County Court in Portland for a few yrs & said they only expect some low % to even respond. Maybe it was 20%?

It's all about the phrasing:

"One of my major goals for the coming year is to improve communications with those I most closely associate with while on the job."

Hi, Ptaoughmn! Hope yer silly's completely reinstated by tomorrow....

Sad that it's so difficult to get us, as a society, engaged in things like civic duty. I don't think I've ever heard anyone, ever, say, "Jeez...I wish I'd get an official summons for jury duty"....

This article does not address migraines at all.  Yes, red wine and sulfites are often mentioned in connection with migraine triggers. With me, any kind of alcoholic beverage in very modest amounts will reliably produce a migraine. Nitrous oxide generators, which are vaso dialators, also will give me migraines reliably. So, I think most of my migraines are tied to fluctuations vascular tension and blood flow to the brain. That's why the sumatriptan works so well. It is a vaso constrictor.

Excessive dietary tyrosine can cause problems.  Everything in moderation.   Sulfites can also trigger migraines. Sulfites are found in fermented, pickled and aged foods, like cheese.  Sulfites cause a high histamine release.  High histamine levels are found in migraine.  Following a low histamine diet like the low histamine Autoimmune Protocol diet, a Paleo diet, helps immensely.    Sulfites and other migraine trigger foods can cause changes in the gut microbiome.  These bad bacteria can increase the incidence of migraines, increasing histamine and inflammation leading to increased gut permeability (leaky gut), SIBO, and higher systemic inflammation.   A Ketogenic diet can reduce the incidence of migraine.  A Paleo diet like the AIP diet, that restricts carbohydrates (like from starchy vegetables) becomes a ketogenic diet.  This diet also changes the microbiome, eliminating the bad bacteria and SIBO that cause an increase in histamine, inflammation and migraine.  Fewer bad bacteria reduces inflammation, lowers migraine frequency, and improves leaky gut. Since I started following the low histamine ketogenic AIP paleo diet, I rarely get migraine.  Yes, I do eat carbs occasionally now, rice or potato, but still no migraines.  Feed your body right, feed your intestinal bacteria right, you'll feel better.  Good intestinal bacteria actually make your mental health better, too.  I had to decide to change my diet drastically in order to feel better all the time, not just to satisfy my taste buds.  I chose to eat so I would feel better all the time.  I do like dark chocolate (a migraine trigger), but now I can indulge occasionally without a migraine after.   Microbiota alterations are related to migraine food triggers and inflammatory markers in chronic migraine patients with medication overuse headache https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11546420/

Then we would need to cut out all meat and fish as they are richer sources of tyrosine than nuts and cheese. Something else about certain tyrosine rich foods must be the actual culprit.
    • Scott Adams
I agree that KAN-101 looks promising, and hope the fast track is approved. From our article below: "KAN-101 shows promise as an immune tolerance therapy aiming to retrain the immune system, potentially allowing safe gluten exposure in the future, but more clinical data is needed to confirm long-term effects."
    • Scott Adams
Thank you so much for having the courage to share this incredibly vivid and personal experience; it's a powerful reminder of how physical ailments can disrupt our fundamental sense of self. What you're describing sounds less like a purely psychological body dysmorphia and more like a distinct neurological event, likely triggered by the immense physical stress and inflammation that uncontrolled celiac disease can inflict on the entire body, including the nervous system. It makes complete sense that the specific sensory input—the pressure points of your elbows on your knees—created a temporary, distorted body map in your brain, and the fact that it ceased once you adopted a gluten-free diet is a crucial detail. Your intuition to document this is absolutely right; it's not "crazy" but rather a significant anecdotal data point that underscores the mysterious and far-reaching ways gluten can affect individuals. Your theory about sensory triggers from the feet for others is also a thoughtful insight, and sharing this story could indeed be validating for others who have had similar, unexplainable sensory disturbances, helping them feel less alone in their journey.
