Well, my dad is the same. . . . . ...he is particularly disgruntled about being back in the hospital right now because it is my mom's birthday tomorrow, and he wants to....what.. . ... . ..bake a cake for her? Clean the apartment? Dress up and go out for dinner? Um, that just has never been happening. . . ...... :rolleyes:

Plus, it is their BIG wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks. Hope he's out fer that.. . .. ... .. ..

We have had snow, rain, ice pellets and sleet, and it is not over yet. Current conditions as I look out the back window is light snow. We are expecting another 5 to 10 cm in the next 24 hours.

I think I could take what Susie and Patti are experiencing. ;)

phorgot to comment on this earlier.........it do not matter why your dad wants to be out for your mum's birfday, he just wants to be OUT, and he should be!!!!!!! :) Hoping he is out quite soon.......

That sort of reminded me of "Lemon Tree" by Trini Lopez........Lauren and I worked at this silly "gallery" in Monterey and we worked with Trini Lopez's daughter.........and had that celiac disease in the store.......we danced wildly to it all the time.......but only when young Holly wasn't there

This is a tough one. Yes, one would stay put on metal stools, to be sure...... . . but I can only imagine how one would constantly be pulling errant metal coins, keys, cutlery, chains out of one's crack. . . . . .....

In answer to Jack's query, I'd have to go wif me bum. Surely having a magnetic 'ead would be painphul, what wif the metal making a beeline and all..... :o Sumphin large, say an anchor or a toolbox, would knock you into next week! :P

He would risk the toolbox- and Wylie Coyote-type anvil attractions, and believes he could really take advantage by throwing his house key and any change he gets from the corner store up onto his forehead - - no more frustrated searching for these errant things in the depths of his pockets.

Need a spare fork? Just have one hanging from your ear. Jack smartly thought of how his dad could really benefit with a magnetic head when he's fixing things outside - - his hammer, pliers and screwdrivers could be lined up above his eyes and he could just grab the one he needs......no more scrambling around in the toolbelt.

Yep, he makes good arguments.

But I'm still goin' for the Magnetic Arse......

Morning sillies-

Keep your fingers crossed-John might get his surgery by the end of the week! He is seeing the doctor here today and that doctor said he is not sure why the doctors in the other hospital are dragging their feet--esp. when a patient is in pain and not eating. crazy system we have!

The weather here is cold again! Last week I broke out my sandals-this week I wont even think of putting them on- We might see snow flakes today--So much for flowers and gardens!

Well I guess work is calling- bye everyone

Not sure what it means. Must be my vision of world peace.

      If your tTg-IgA was 28 and positive is at 3, you are nearly 10x over the positive marker, so the most likely explanation by far would be celiac disease. I also do not understand why your doctor would not want to run the blood test, which is the normal first step in the diagnosis process.

      So the tTG-IGA at 28 is positive for celiac disease. There are some other medical conditions that can cause elevated tTG-IGA but this is unlikely. There are some people for whom the dairy protein casein can cause this but by far the most likely cause is celiac disease. Especially when your small bowel lining is "scalloped". Your Serum IGA 01 (aka, "total IGA") at 245 mg/dl is within normal range, indicating you are not IGA deficient. But I also think it would be wise to take your doctor's advice about the sucraid diet and avoiding dairy . . . at least until you experience healing and your gut has had a chance to heal, which can take around two years. After that, you can experiment with adding dairy back in and monitor symptoms. By the way, if you want the protein afforded by dairy but need to avoid casein, you can do so with whey protein powder. Whey is the other major protein in dairy.

      hi, i want to say thank you to you and @trents   . after 2 phone calls to my GI, her office called me back to tell me that a blood test was “unnecessary” and that we should “follow the gold standard” and since my biopsy did not indicate celiac, to follow the no dairy and sucraid diet. i luckily have expendable income and made an appt for the labcorp blood test that day. i just got my results back and it indicates celiac disease i think 😭   im honestly happy bc now i KNOW and i can go gluten free. and i am SO MAD at this doctor for dismissing me for a simple blood test that wouldn’t have cost her anything !!!!!!!!!!! im sorry, im so emotional right now, i have been sick my whole life and never knew why, i feel so much better already   my results from labcorp:   Celiac Ab tTG TIgA w/Rflx Test Current Result and Flag Previous Result and Date Units Reference Interval t-Transglutaminase (tTG) IgA 01 28 High U/mL 0-3 Negative 0 - 3 Weak Positive 4 - 10 Positive >10 Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG) has been identified as the endomysial antigen. Studies have demonstrated that endomysial IgA antibodies have over 99% specificity for gluten sensitive enteropathy. Immunoglobulin A, Qn, Serum 01 245 mg/dL 87-352
