I found these in the Giant chain in Northern Virginia this weekend. The local Safeway still has the old formula Corn Chex in their inventory.

Okay it is official I am jealous  I can only find the rice chex at my stores in CO. I am dying to get a hold of the other flavors. I did find the honey kix at Super Target and bought those but I really want the chex! I will keep looking!

YAY! I have been using Rice Chex for a while now--I don't eat cereal for breakfast, but I do make "chex mix" with the Rice Chex alone for a snack. Now i can mix it with Corn Chex for variety, and get the Honey Nut for a snack as well.

Yay for General Mills! They were smart to do this. As DH pointed out, they have probably gained customers, celiacs who otherwise wouldn't be buying their cereals.

hey guys, question for ya:

has anyone in the NJ area found the new formulas in their stores? i've been to a stop & shop, my local shoprite and target, and they are carrying Corn, Honey Nut, Chocolate and Strawberry Chex, but they do not say gluten free (and show barley malt in the ingredients).

BUT... the strawberry chex showed molasses in the ingredients, however, the box did not say "NOW gluten free" on the front. is that on all of the new formula boxes?

THANKS!!

I have not found the other Chex yet! My daughter eats the Rice Chex often, would love to get her a variety.

I do have a question though - Are the other Chex cross-contaminated with peanuts/tree nuts? I thought I read it on this thread. Please tell me it's not true!!

Thank You!!

Also, in NJ (Central)

The Strawberry Chex lists peanut flour in the ingredients. I am not sure about the other Chex flavors.

That makes me so happy!! I'm pumped to have more variety in our cereal selection. I went onto the general mills website and sent them a thank you for making more of their cereals gluten free. hopefully it makes someone's day when they're sifting through all of the questions and complaints and they get one that's actually happy,

Just found a box of gluten-free Honey Nut Chex at a Walmart in North Carolina. Man is it good. I can't wait to try the other flavors!

It's here! It finally made it to my local grocery store! I just had a big bowl. It was wonderful. I have loved this cereal for years and couldn't figure out why it made me sick until I learned about gluten. But now it's gluten-free!! Finally I can get big boxes of regular cereal like the rest of the family! Not overpriced dinky boxes of Glutino O's or Gorilla Munch. YAY! :)

I was about to get really excited, but then I read the ingredients:

"Non-fat milk" and "Soy".

That actually makes a pretty decent number of celiacs unable to eat it. Shame. A few other ingredients worthy of highlighting for the multi-sensitive.

"fructose" and "sugar", "peanut oil", "Colors", "BHT" (chemical preservative), and the obvious, corn and rice.

which box were all these 'additivies' in ..................?

hope not all of the others than rice chex.

when will they ever get..................'LESS IS MORE'?

Took me less than a minute to send the thank you. I hope a lot of others will do the same. I think it's important we acknowledge any main stream co. for helping us!

Me too . . . also told them we were waiting in anticipation for the Betty Crocker mixes (Betty Crocker is part of General Mills)

Today our Wal-Mart had gluten-free Honey Nut Chex on the shelves. I forgot to stop to tell the manager thanks so I'll do it tomorrow.

If you want "less is more", there's plenty of crappy tasting cereal at the health food stores. I for one am tired of that stuff. Give me the sugar, colorings, and additives - just no wheat please!

best regards, lm

I was so excited about this until I saw "soy flour" in the chocolate and strawberry ones :(

My stores are carring the New Strawbery but it still has malt in it :( but our local support group says they will start carring the gluten free one on June 1st and also the betty crocker cake mixes :) I hope it does happen.

My Walmart finally has gluten free honey nut chex! When I saw the box I was so, so happy! I am going to send my thank you email to General Mills right away. I am also waiting with anticipation for the Betty Crocker mixes. I can't wait for those!!!

I just bought a box of the honey nut corn chex with the big beautiful words of "gluten free" written all over the front! They were very very good.

I finally got my first box of the new Corn Chex at Winco in Gresham today! Woohoo!

Their "flavored" Chex varieties were still the old ones. But I just enjoyed my first bowl of Corn Chex in longer than I can remembered. With Hazlenut milk, because I'm having a bad lactose day. It's actually pretty good with hazlenut milk.

We tried the gluten-free Honey Nut Chex and I was surprised I really liked it. It was too sweet for me eaten dry right out of the box, but was delicious mixed with milk. I am still waiting for the new Corn Chex in our area. I have seen both gluten-free and non-gluten-free Strawberry Chex side by side in the stores, so be careful which box you buy. The Strawberry Chex is delicious mixed with regular Chex.

Ahorsesoul Enthusiast

To cut the sweetness of the Honey Nut I mix in a box of Rice Chex. Perfect.

Hello, I was very stick,  with flu like symptoms, but my virus panel came back negative and we couldn’t figure out what’s going on. The doctor then added a celiac panel.  Has anyone ever had such a dramatic change?  What are the odds this is true celiac I am going to have an endoscopy, but it’s expensive and I just feel like why can’t the labs be enough?

Eating out in general is full of risks, but this article may help:

This kind of question is always difficult to give a definitive answer to because of so many variables. One such variable is the sensitivity of the individual celiac to small amounts of gluten cross contamination. An amount that causes a reaction in one celiac many not in another, or at least not be discernable which, of course, does not exactly equate to being "safe".

I don't live in the US, but based on this thread, I wouldn't risk it:   https://www.reddit.com/r/glutenfree/comments/1n2ehw8/cracker_barrel/   This app is helpful: https://www.findmeglutenfree.com/

I see that Cracker Barrel restaurants have a gluten free menu (not all locations, but one confirmed that they do). I was wondering if it is safe for my 5 year old son with celiac disease?
