My doc gave me this Perscription a while back and I never got it filled. Recently after my Colonoscopy on Thurs I've been having Issues, So I go to the Doc ON Wed. the 4th. He asked if I ever filled that perscription and I hadn't. Supposedly you put it under your Tounge and it desolves there and relieves stomach aches, Im about to go pick up the perscription But was curious if anyone had ever used it before, Please let me know if it worked for you! thanks!

When I was first diagnosed, my doctor gave me NuLev, which is very similar to Levsin. They are antispasmodics.

As I remember, it worked pretty well for cramping and the only side effect for me was a bit of drowsiness. Mine were green and tasted like mint :)

My only experience with antispasmodics are when I was misdiagnosed with IBS. The Levsin actually dehydrated me and masked some of my celiac symptoms for several years--it wasn't until I got so sick that I had to be admitted to the hospital that they realized that it was celiac instead of IBS. I'd just be careful since the drug doesn't actually heal anything.

HI

My Dr of 25 years just suggested I go on it.........

I took my first one today

Levsin...generic is Hyomax-SL0.125

Mine does have lactose as a filler

I had a barium swallow that showed I was having spasms in the esophagus and entry into stomach and a choking in throat............so this drug...........as I understand it..........relaxes the digestive system so should help with stomach pain also.

Sometimes it's prescribed for IBS as you stated.

Let us know how you do

Well its good to hear some people have used it... I went and go the perscription today. I'm always nervous about taking new drugs.. But I figure If Im already suffering with a stomach ache, how much worse could it get right. it can only help! So When the time comes to take it I HOPE IT WORKS!

It works very well, I think . I always keep a supply of it with me; you never know if celiac symptoms might strike at an inopportune moment! I found a little bit goes a long way for me; I usually bite ONE tiny pill in halves so I don't end up going the other way

It is a smooth muscle relaxer and non narcotic. It will RARELY just stop you up,so really safe to use with a few conditions excepted.. Also works for menstrual cramps!

If you have hemorrhoids 1x weekly I don't see how you have time to heal from one episode before you experience another one, unless each one is a very minor event. Have you consulted a physician about your hemorrhoid issue? It's not normal to be having an episode every week unless it is really one episode that is not completely healing between weekly flareups.

No I haven't had one since 2021. I rarely have more than 1 per week.

Sorry, I see that now as I reread your original post. You say you have hemorrhoids "only once a week" now. When I develop hemorrhoids, which is once every few years now, it generally takes 3-4 days for healing to take place. So, it doesn't seem like you could have much relief time between episodes if you have them weekly. Have you had a lower GI scoping done recently?

Everyday I eat a medium to large apple in the morning and a large banana at night. I eat a cup of oatmeal in the evening. The ezekiel wheat bread I eat has a good amount of fiber. I haven't dealt with constipation for at least a year. Most of the time my feces are soft.
