I have been gluten free for over 2 weeks and I've started having dreams about eating gluten! LOL! The two nights ago I dreamt I ate a piece of cinnamon roll and felt so guilty when I woke up. Then last night I dreamt that I ate gluten on accident!!! Has anyone else had wheat dreams?!

I used to have them all the time. It's been a long time since I've had one though. I went gluten-free in December of 06. The gluten-free dreams for me were a type of anxiety dream. They were a reflection of how anxious and frustrated I was about going gluten-free. I never felt guilty for eating gluten, but rather horrified, angry and scared. But that's a reflection of my issues with the gluten-free diet. Everyone has different frustrations and it's not uncommon for them to manifest in dreams.

I dream about pancakes... butter- and syrup- soaked pancakes. Not just eating them... but making them on the skillet. I relish the entire process. Luckily, you can learn to make your favorite treats using gluten-free flours or *hopefully* find a gluten-free bakery in your area. :)

I'm excited to make Open Original Shared Link. No guilt... except for those pesky calories.

When I was first diagnosed I had nightmares about eating gluten. Finally they went away after a couple of weeks.

I've had them too, same reaction, horrified. one day I woke up trying to throw up the Papa John's pizza I'd dreamed that I'd accidentally eaten... when someone hid some in my gluten-free Uno chicago pizza box.

I had my first gluten dream last week - I was eating graham crackers! LOL! In my dream, at first I thought they were gluten-free and then realized that they tasted "normal" and then I was trying to throw them up - I thought it was funny that it took 2 months to dream about it.

I had my first gluten dream last night! I was at a party (I think with my soccer team, most of whom have been extremely supportive since I went gluten-free on July 8/09). Someone was eating from a bag of chips and I just took a handful and started eating them! Someone asked me "you can eat those??" and I was like "omg I forgot!" I checked the ingredients and sure enough they were not gluten-free ...When I woke up I was relieved that I hadn't actually been poisoned!

Mine are usually about pizza! The last one, was a gluten free pizza place accidentally serving me real pizza. Of course I would know right away but dreams can be crazy!

I think all of us have these dreams. Mine was a delicious fire grilled hot dog on a bun. It was so good, then I remembered I can have buns...I woke up in tears, still worried I had glutened myself. It ruined my entire day!!!

edited after your post: "one cup of canned prune juice has 707 mg of potassium, while half a cup of dried prunes has 635 mg... whole prunes provide more fiber and fewer calories per serving." - google  When I complained of constipation due to my BP meds my doctor recommened prune juice without hesitation,  When I bother to eat Prunes or plums it works.   I think the fruit is better for you than the juice for addition nutrients.

Thanks, I do include chia seeds and ground flax seed in my diet to help as well but on days that I'm not close to my target of 30 grams of fiber, I would add the Benefiber. My IBS-C was much better with both natural foods and the supplement so I will continue to search for another natural supplement that is not based on wheat to have when needed. Thanks

Welcome @Trish G to the forum. Hard or lumpy stools and infrequent bowel movements.  My brother likes Phillips Stool Softener, Ducolate Sodium.   Just a question. Was the benefiber helping? Benefiber is only 3 grams per dose so lots of other foods can supply that.  Nutrition label DV for fiber is 28 g. 5 prunes, dehydrated plums, has 3 grams of fiber and additionally 290 grams of potassium. Potassium is good for IBS-C because it prommotes muscle contractions in the intestines.  Low potassium contributes to constipation and bloating.  Most of us don't eat the RDA for potassium (2600 women, 3400 men) and the DV (Daily Value used on nutrition labels) is 4700 mg a day for men, women and children. When I complained of constipation due to my BP meds my doctor recommened prune juice without hesitation,  When I bother to eat Prunes or plums it works.   I think the fruit is better for you than the juice for addition nutrients.

I think you may be correct. The way the results are printed makes it appear as though it’s the ttg iga but I think you’re right—the 646 is total iga. So this would be indicative of another issue (another autoimmune condition, infection, cancer, etc.) and my doctor would need to do further testing. Thank you for saying this!

Are you sure that is the TTG IgA? Based on the units (mg/dL) and having an upper limit to the normal range, it looks like a total IgA result.
