Yeah, he seems about right! I'm going on a week of three hours a night,

don't you get too tired to wake up anymore at some point? What the crap....

PTSD sucks.

Bun, I am gonna be honest with you here. In order to heal, sleep is vital. Vital. I went through an extended period of awful insomnia in the last year to where even Ambien didn't work. I was desperate to sleep, and the only thing that helped was Ativan. Unfortunately, it is also extremely addictive. They say "causes dependency" but I say addicted since it took me 7 months to get off of the small dose I took for probably 6 months.

What did help me is Zoloft. I didn't want to take it, but was out of options and had a professional by then whom I trusted. Took a leap of faith, and within weeks I was sleeping normally and my appetite and interest were back. I take a very small dose--but it made a ton of difference. It doesn't take away your feelings, but gives you (me) the means to have the energy to cope, if that makes any sense.

Try the OTC stuff I suggested on FB, as it was helpful to a couple people I know but if it doesn't cut it I wanted to let you know all this and did not want to do so on FB. ;)

Thanks Patee. I have gone through a couple cycles of not-sleep and it has resolved itself inside of two weeks,

so I'm pretty thankful for that. So far I've just been riding it out when it does happen, if I find myself inside an

extended insomniac sleep cycle I will definitely consider those options.

We posted at the same time! That's great that yours resolves on it's own--hopefully an OTC or similar "home remedy" will offer a bit of relaxation.

Gotta get your sleep! B)

I've tried that counting sheep thing, but they start coming faster and faster and I get all tense trying to keep up. To keep them at a reasonable speed I have to institute military-like strictness, and who can fall asleep whilst keeping sheep in strict formation?

...Actually, I kinda want bacon now...

They say it's the vegetarian's gateway drug back into meat. My fav bar in town has bacon night on Wednesdays. At 9:30 you will find a bowl on every table and for every 2 people seated at the bar. Then this very large, jolly man comes at you with a giant stainless steel bowl FILLED with bacon! He fills your bowl, tells you what kind of 'flavor' he's made and then every 15-20 min comes back with ANOTHER bowl of a different flavor! Captain's fav was the 'peanut butter cup'...

Welcome to the forum, @linnylou73! Are you claiming this based on a reaction or based upon actual testing?

This varies a lot from person to person. I include foods that are not certified gluten-free but are labelled "gluten-free", while super sensitive people only use certified gluten-free. Both types of products have been found to contain gluten, so there are no guarantees either way: It you are in the super sensitive group, eating a whole foods based diet where you prepare everything is the safest bet, but it's also difficult. Eating out is the the most risky, even if a restaurant has a gluten-free menu. I also include items that are naturally gluten-free, for example refried beans, tuna, pasta sauces, salsas, etc., which have a low overall risk of contamination.

I avoid turmeric now because I'm on low dose aspirin, but used to use this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HYBN4DJ My recipes always vary according to what I have on hand, but my base is a frozen berry mix from Trader Joe's: https://www.traderjoes.com/home/products/pdp/fruits-greens-smoothie-blend-075603 In the warmer months I include herbs from my garden like Italian parsley and basil. I add almond milk as well.
