  1. Sorry, I've never even heard of that!
  2. I quit canning because it was so much work and nobody would eat it. I only did applesauce and pears. Daughter loves applesauce and pears but... She prefers the cute little expensive cups. Whatever! No sense in my putting up a bunch of stuff that won't get eaten. As for your half sours... Does it make a huge batch? I love them but... I would like...
  3. I would first go to the caterer's website and see if they even list gluten-free options. If they don't, I would plan on not eating the meal. It could be that there are some things you could eat like fruit, cheese, shrimp, but keep in mind that those things could be cross contaminated. I would bring my own food and eat before, after or during. I would...
  4. We were never big sandwich eaters so it wasn't a problem for us at first. I mainly made extra dinner and gave it to Angela the next day for lunch. That's when she was 6. But very quickly, the other kids made fun of her lunch and that's when the problems began. She wanted sandwiches, even though she hates them. Now if she has to eat a sandwich (she's...
  5. I should also add that my family has been very odd about dairy. Although I was always told that as a baby I was severely underweight. My mom said had they made preemie clothes in those days, I likely would have worn them until I was 6 months old! I would not breast feed and in those days they didn't have pre-made formula. I was allergic to any and all...
  6. Well... I have always hated chicken except for when I was quite small. I guess I liked it then but like you, I grew up on bland food and a limited diet. I ate some things not necessarily because I liked them but because I was hungry and that's what we had. If I truly hate something like broccoli, I won't touch it. I guess you could say that chicken was...
  7. Yes, but I was warned by the Dr. not to eat the dairy. And I didn't for a long time. But I got annoyed because daughter outgrew some of her intolerances and those foods don't make her sick. So I began eating dairy again. And I was fine for a while. But then I wasn't fine and then there was denial. I got tested again and dairy is out. If you do find...
  8. Nasalcrom is what did a number on us, daughter and I. Caused very bad nose bleeds and did nothing for our allergies. Not something we would be willing to ever try again. The way you were talking about it, I thought it was some sort of pill. I am really pretty sure that neither of us have IgE food allergies.
  9. I do not have IgE allergies to foods. I have been tested. I do believe that the IgG allergies I was diagnosed with are for real. Because I know what happens to me when I eat those foods and it is not good! I don't see how I could possibly take Cromolyn. I don't even think it is available here any more. I did look it up and it said it was in eye drops...
  10. I don't know what that means to me! I do not have celiac. I do have IgG allergies...aka food intolerances.
  11. Just curious why you would be eating things that you know cause a reaction! As for the Nasalcrom, daughter and I were prescribed this for our allergies and all it did was give us severe nosebleeds. Singulair didn't help us either.
  12. Well, if it works for you but really that is all over my head. Sorry.
  13. Nope. I would never do that. I don't think it is polite to deliberately make myself sick. In fact if I do get a dinner invitation but I tell the host that I am on a special diet and will bring my own food. I used to bring a salad. I no longer digest salad very well. I just do not trust eating food that other people make at their houses. Sometimes they...
  14. I had allergy (skin prick) tests done but they only tested for a few things. All came back negative. Had IgG testing done via blood and hair tests. But... I pretty much already suspected dairy and knew of egg for sure due to my reactions to them.
  15. Omeprazol can really do a number on your stomach! It slows digestion. That could cause constipation.
  16. Lactose is not my problem, but casein. Does to me what your symptoms are. I can't even have cheese or butter. Uh... Sorry for the tiny font. No clue why.
  17. Well... Have you been tested for diabetes? Two things that led to my diagnosis were severe diarrhea that wouldn't stop and neuropathy. I literally could not walk. Could only crawl or scoot across the floor. Actually crawling was even difficult. I have been told that high blood sugar can cause the D but... Mine still didn't let up. The Dr. was baffled...

    ARCHIVED Dental Horror

The shots are usually the worst part for me! And I too have had canker sores after. Not sure why. I have had bad dental stories. As a kid, we went to a bad dentist. We did not realize how bad he was until later. After he quit, because he had so many lawsuits against him. Once he put 8 fillings in my mouth at once. My mom just dropped me off that...
  19. Dunno. I still get brain fog sometimes but I am also getting older.
  20. This is exactly what my mother said to me the other day when I turned down an egg containing candy, telling her that I could not eat it. Oh how I wanted to throttle her! I got angry and said that I most certainly do not. Now... I do have diabetes and there have been times when I have eaten more carbs than I know I should have. Or just eaten period when...
  21. Pretty sure that Creatine was what I took then. I was buying it online from a body building website and was taking it to try to gain more muscle. I was working out with weights at the time. Did not seem to help me in any way, shape or form though. I had the worst brain fog of my life in those days. But... I was also being kept hyperthyroid by an IMO...
  22. Yep. I see this all the time. I have diabetes. If I say to someone that I can't eat something because it makes my blood sugar go too high, I often get the retort that their friend or aunt or coworker or whoever eats this thing all the time! And it could be that those things are fine for those people or they may not be. There are a lot of clueless people...
  23. Interesting! But... I looked for it online and it looks like it is only in powder form that you have to mix with liquid. Pppyuck! Could have sworn that I took it before. But maybe that was creatinine? Hmmm... Whatever it was, was in capsules and had dairy in it. Wouldn't work for me now.
  24. Yes. I have had the swollen knuckles. My most current thing is a swelling under my arm pit. I was wearing some new bras. Could be a connection there. I used an antibacterial soap just in case it was an infection, stopped using antiperspirant for a few days...luckily I was at home and just used one of those crystal deodorants. Also dabbed on some Curad...
