  1. I do the same thing for brownies. I don't microwave them - they thaw in about 20 minutes. I also freeze spagetti sauce in small tupperwares or in reusable containers, like what cream cheese comes in. The ice cube tray idea is good for single use servings. I freeze muffins all the time. If you were to make a whole recipe of pamela's bread...
  2. I came in to check on you Blessings because you were tricky and started a new post, instead of replying to your other one. I was worried and am so happy for you. That is excellent news. ~Laura
  3. Krisnpw, Celiachap hasn't posted here since January 2006 so it's unlikely that he/she will reply. There are many threads here about pizza. Here's the recipe that I like best...I tried about 8 before finding this one. Open Original Shared Link I use my own sauce and I don't broil it after adding the sauce on top of the pre-baked shell, I just...
  4. Part of my health meditation/prayer is something a girlfriend said to me. Imagine and feel a bright light coming down and surrounding you, your bed at night, and including all your family members and/or your house as the light gets brighter. I imagine the light to be God's love, but you can imagine it to be a spirit, the love of mother nature or just pure...
  5. Jade08, it looks like your biopsy was yesterday, today is the 30th. If so, I hope you went ahead and are all done now. I'm in the crowd that says it's good to have if you are 1) an adult and 2) are still eating wheat and 3) will still go gluten-free regardless of whether the biopsy is postive or negative. With the blood work positive, you shouldn't listen...
  6. Congratulations! Hooray for your daughter and best wishes at the State Fair. Are you going to post the recipe later?
  7. I agree, you are lucky with your doctor. I was diagnosed by biopsy when they were looking for ulcers. I had the blood test 3 days later (still eating gluten) and was negative. ~Laura
  8. I hope you get some replies. We are in Seattle and are planning a bike trip to Victoria next month. ~Laura
  9. Hot peppermint tea is my remedy. I drink a cup anytime my stomach is upset and it really works for me. Peppermint has been a stomach remedy since the middle ages. I think it is very helpful, physically and mentally. ~Laura
  10. Oh, yeah, I forgot about dog and cat food, if you have them. For dog food, we use EVO which is gluten free. The gluten-free cat food made our cat sick, so the food she eats (Avoderm) does have some gluten. But she's an outdoor cat and I have someone else feed her. But if you have indoor pets they should be on gluten-free food so they don't...
  11. Hi Triplets, sorry for your troubles. Yes, throw away ALL your tupperware OR use glassware for your leftovers/storage (keeping the tupperware for the rest of the family or friends). Or buy the cheap ziplock or glad containers for your use. All plastic cookware is suspect if previously used with gluten. Metal, glass, porcelain and china should...
  12. I would use almond meal or other nut meals. You can buy almond meal ready-made or make you own with raw, unsalted nuts in the food processor, but don't do it too long or you'll get nut butter! I add almond meal in place of flour in my bread, cake and muffin mixes for extra flavor, protein and fiber. Substitute up to 1/4 of the flour. If you can...
  13. I made a reply and "poof" it was gone during the system crash. Here are some ideas for you that I use for business/personal travel. Rice Chex cereal is the only mainstream adult cereal that is gluten-free. It says Gluten-free right on the front of the box. There are some others but for kids (Dora Explora Stars etc.). Thai Kitchen has some single...
  14. They have the Sonoma tortillas with light teff from La Tortilla Factory at my local grocery (Red Apple) and they are great! I so hated the rice flour kind, and sometimes corn doesn't work. These have fiber and seem much more nutritious. These are great for wraps and for sandwich substitutes at picnics and such. They keep them in the freezer at my local...
  15. My son and I have the same problem...we think it's the oil. A few at a time is ok, though. ~Laura
  16. I've had arthritis for 30 years (since I was 16) and was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in 2001. I was in daily lower back pain from that and managed it with ibuprofen and yoga: if I skipped the yoga, it would be worse. I have arthritis in knees, hips and feet. After going gluten-free, it took me a while to realize that my DDD back pain was...
  17. I tried this today with 1/2 cup dairy-free sour cream substitute plus 1/4 cup almond milk to sub for the dairy. And I added a teaspon of yeast for flavor. It turned out good. Nice flavor. DS dipped it in olive oil. I put homemade pizza sauce on top with mozzarella for a quick pizza. I'm going to make it in my "muffin-top" pan for hamburger...
  18. I don't have solutions for you about people offering him food etc. but I would say that if it would help you feel better or stronger, then by all means have the Enterolab testing done. I was skeptical about it (only because the work has not been scholarly reviewed/peer reviewed) but we did it for my son because he didn't want to try the diet without proof...
  19. I don't think it was a conincidence. I have to carry baby wipes around with me when I get accidentally glutened because of the pain and there seems to be some extra irritation. Did you ask Enterolab if you were on the "safe" side? Just a thought...they seem helpful. Maybe you should call/email them? ~Laura
  20. Try hot or warm peppermint tea - add some honey if he likes. The peppermint is an old medicinal tip from the middle ages and helps get rid of nausea and cramps. Hope he's back to normal soon. ~Laura
  21. If it is caused by celiac, then the permenant teeth may be already formed and already affected. Here's an informative article: Open Original Shared Link And a link to a previous discussion with good info from Happygirl: Open Original Shared Link ~Laura
  22. I have never cheated. I agree with GFP that even eating out or at a family memeber's house is enough risk for me...and one that I don't take lightly. Glutening sets me back 2-3 days of feeling crummy plus perhaps 2 weeks (like now) of mouth ulcers (from CC). ~Laura
  23. Hmmm... haven't been there. My brother just moved to Madison and my daughter may go there for university, so I hope they do have some gluten-free options. ~Laura
  24. I have exactly the same problem, either before I was diagnosed and now if I get gluten. Peppermint tea helps me when my stmoach feels like a brick and/or feels like I am not digesting my food. Hope you're better soon. ~Laura
