  1. I sure get sick of shelling them though.
  2. I think that you are having problems with cross contamination.
  3. Based on my reactions, Kinnickinnick's cornmeal seemed more gluten free than Arrowhead mills. I finally got my own mill to grind it myself. Then I found non corn grains in my corn!
  4. Thank you for posting this. I have been using Suave products. I'll be more careful now.
  5. I react to some gluten free items too. It seems like CC sometimes occurs.
  6. I am very careful where I get my grains. Once I got a bag of millet and there were a bunch of grains in there that looked like wheat. My latest supply of corn also had grains in there that were not corn, though they were a lot bigger than the grains that I found in the millet. I also wash them before cooking.
  7. I think that nuts have bothered me, but it is hard to be sure what the source of gluten is, as you know. I buy them in the shell now. I try to get them from the source.
  8. You might want to try an even more careful diet for awhile. No processed foods, grains, beans mushrooms, citrus, nightshades, nuts that you don't shell yourself, anything that has any hint of being suspect, for awhile and see if that makes a difference. Then, if it does, add foods back one at a time so that you can find out what is bothering you.
  9. I used to regularly feel suicidal when I got glutened. This last two times, my stomach swelled up like I was 5 months pregnant, and I was a bit extra teary with emotional stuff, but no suicidal thoughts! It's been two years gluten free Maybe it is a matter of healing, maybe it is figuring out what I can really eat. I'm not sure, but it is sure nice not...
  10. I find that gluten symptoms and PMS symptoms make each other worse. After healing and getting totally gluten free, I couldn't even tell when my period was coming anymore.
  11. Some of us are more sensitive to processed foods than others. You could try a diet of totally non processed foods for awhile and see if that helps. Also wash everything carefully before eating it. And check soaps shampoos etc. for gluten. I hope you feel better soon.
  12. I suggest that you cut out trace gluten by cutting processed foods and grains. If you can get rid of your symptoms, than you could add things back to know what bothers you.
  13. I'm a little late to this discussion. I also react to inhaled gluten. I also get blurred vision from gluten exposure and chest and nose pain from inhaled gluten. It feels like my nasal passages and lungs swell. One other thing, before I was diagnosed with celiac disease I had terrible chemical sensitivity. I had difficulty working in a setting with...
  14. My son developed GERD suddenly. That is how he was diagnosed with celiac. Now it has come back because he started running. We are going to make some changes to his diet to see if we can get rid of it again.
  15. Sometimes I have problems with citrus. Maybe it's a coating? Packed in straw? Citrus intolerance? I avoid it now.
  16. I make pasta with those things, but the recipe does say that the 4 eggs per two cups of flour can be substituted with 1 c flax gel. My recipe also has 1 t guar or xanthan gum per cup flour and 1/2 t salt and 2 T oil.
  17. I play saxophone. One time I very absentmindedly put some cork grease on my lips thinking that it was lip balm. I was very worried that it might contain gluten. I rubbed it off right away. I am so sensitive to gluten that I have cut out almost all processed foods, yet the cork grease/lip balm did not make me sick, so I think that it is safe. The brand...
  18. I'll second the person who said Tropical Source. Their chips are the only chocolate I've found that I can eat, and believe me, I've tried many. I love chocolate.
  19. Read the thread "Gluten Free" foods that got you https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/index.ph...c=61731&hl= Some of us react to the small amount of gluten present in some gluten free foods. Your daughter might be among them. I know that I felt so much better initially when all I eliminated was cereal and bread. Later I seemed to get more sensitive...
  20. It gets easier. You might be experiencing gluten withdrawal. I think I did. Hang in there. Lots of celiacs are overweight, don't worry about that.
  21. I'm so sorry. I don't dare eat at restaurants any more. You make me feel less insane.
  22. I am very sensitive. The question is more what gluten free foods don't get me! There aren't very many left.
  23. I have read about and experienced the link between celiac and depression. I don't have any good references handy though. It went away gluten free and doesn't come back unless I get accidental gluten contamination.
  24. I had what I believe to be a gluten reaction after eating two pieces of the honey ham. I believe that it can be very slightly cross contaminated. I believe that I am sensitive to very small amounts of gluten.
  25. Thanks for that explanation. It makes sense to me too.
